TNT and ABC order new drama pilots

dean devlinLeverage has been added to TNT's list of drama pilots, only one or two of which will be chosen for next summer's schedule to air alongside popular series The Closer and Saving Grace. The other dramas include an untitled legal drama from Stephen Bochco starring Jane Kaczmarek and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, the William H. Macy dramedy Family Man, and Truth in Advertising, a drama about an ad agency.

Leverage, produced and directed by Dean Devlin (Stargate, Independence Day, Talk to Me) and written by John Rogers (Transformers, Cosby), is about a team of criminals who travel the world stealing from the wealthy. The plot sounds eerily familiar to Family Man, which is about a man (Macy) who leads a team of crooks who rob from the wealthy and give the money to charity.

Meanwhile, ABC has placed a script order for The Fixer from writer Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man), a drama about a woman who solves the problems of New York City's most powerful individuals. I'm going to assume she doesn't help Spider-Man, even though he's the most powerful New Yorker I can think of.
