(S08E24) Eric is either playing an extremely brilliant game of Big Brother or an incredibly stupid one.
Okay, that's not entirely fair. His game play has been pretty impeccable up until this point, especially when you factor the curve balls thrown at him with the America's player challenges
That said, I really find myself questioning his decision not to use the Power of Veto to target at least one his two biggest rivals in the house. Namely, a member of the Donato Duo.
It didn't even really matter which one. At this point in the game, it's absolutely imperative that you take out the strongest players. It's even more mandatory that this gets done when the strongest players happen to be in an alliance held together by DNA.
Tonight was the best opportunity to get rid of a member of the D&D clan, and Eric ultimately blew it. I have a feeling this is going to be something that comes back and haunts him in a few weeks.
While Eric effectively decreased his chances at a half a million dollar prize, he seems to have dramatically increased his chances at love.
Eric, the self proclaimed 5'7" Jewish guy, has touched Jessica's heart in a major way, and I'll be damned if it hasn't turned into a great side plot in a season filled with animosity and contempt.
Eric finally grew a pair, Scoped up as seen in the screencap above, and that led to the tender kiss shared below as viewed in Paris Hilton night vision mode - umm, not that I'd know...
Jessica said that if this was happening outside of the house they'd already be married. She also said Eric was a good kisser. I'm pretty sure after being locked up for 50 days with approximately no action, a rabid Rotweiler would seem like a pretty good kisser too, but whatever.
Jameka sang a song for us tonight. We didn't get to hear the title, but I'm going to go ahead and call it "Thank You Miracle Maker For All Your Love and Splendor".
The lyrics go a little something like this:
I love you so much.
Thank you for being my miracle maker God.
Thank you for restoration.
Thank you for your peace God.
Thank you for your mercy and your grace God.
Thank you for your love God.
This scene went down in the HoH room, and Jessica ended up walking in on Jameka during the performance thinking that Jameka had fallen down and hurt herself. At this point we learned that Jessica is actually, "way into church," and grew up in a Catholic school.
I actually prefer Jessica's approach to religion. It appears to be an unobtrusive and private affair. Amber and Jameka, take note.
The Mystery Trip Revealed
America and the rest of the house heard all about Amber and Daniele's mystery trip to the Power of 10.
I didn't actually catch the episode when it came on, but Amber ended up beating Daniele out for a chance to win 10 Million dollars.
She progressed through the game a little ways, and ultimately botched the $100K question. She ended up walking away with a thousand bucks. Is it wrong that I wish she won a large amount of money so the others would be more inclined to give her the boot? Probably not, because I'd end up being mad that she won a large amount of money. I hate Amber.
Last week I assumed Daniele got to see Nick but that turned out not to be the case. Daniele shed a weary little tear when she realized he was at the show that night and that she would have been able to see him had she prevailed against Amber in the preliminary rounds of the game. Daniele really, really hearts Nick even though she doesn't want to admit it.
What's the over and under on the number of days Daniele and her boyfriend's relationship will last once he sees her reaction in this episode? Three? Six? Negative twenty? If anybody wants a piece of this action, let me know in the comments.
Veto Competition - Cat Scratch Veto
Jessica pulled Daniele. Zach pulled Eric. Amber chose Jameka. Dick was chosen to be the host.
Zach and Eric got to talk a little strategy before the PoV competition and he made a pretty decent case to try and backdoor Daniele and Dick. Eric even admitted that Zach had some good points which makes it all the more bizarre that he didn't seem keen on taking one of them out.
The competition was a strange mixture of Jeopardy, Hide and Go Seek, and Musical Chairs all narrated by the guy in the Saw movies who likes to kill people.
The contestants were given the answer to a riddle, then given the chance to scramble around the yard to find a rat with an answer to a riddle listed. Once the players got a rat that listed what they thought was the appropriate riddle, they rushed back to a limited number of stumps, and the Saw guy asked them to read their selection. The last person back didn't have a stump and was eliminated from the game.
Answer to riddle: Dustin
Riddle: He was number six to go enemy to one named Joe.
Riddle: Parading in his cape and crown his eviction made him frown.
Jessica was eliminated.
Answer to riddle: Slop
Riddle: This concoction is crude, barely passes as food.
Riddle: Your outlook seems bleak when you eat this for a week.
Jameka was eliminated.
Answer to riddle: Nick
Riddle: Who could know he would be the fourth to go?
Riddle: His heart rang like a bell for house guest Daniele.
Ironically, Daniele was eliminated.
Answer to riddle: Jen
Riddle: Big brother thought it would be hard but she loved to wear that unitard.
Riddle: She was HoH number two but claimed her word was always true.
Zach was eliminated.
It came down to Amber and Eric.
Answer to riddle: Veto
Riddle: It may come as a shock if you win this you're off the block.
God forsake Amber and Eric won the PoV.
America's Player - Who should Eric Kiss?
Wow, America loves Eric. Not only did Eric already complete this task without direction - he's pretty much at a point where he can kiss Jessica whenever he wantsl. Once again, Eric Scoped up.
Then, he sauntered into the HoH room with the confidence of a Greek statue, grabbed Jessica strongly, and demanded a kiss. She obliged by giving him a little peck on the lips. And with that, Eric completed another one of America's challenges.
Eviction Ceremony
Eric was kind of in a precarious situation. He was stuck between honoring his alliance with Dick and Daniele, but at the same time his new lover wanted him to backdoor one of them.
Eric ended up not using the PoV this week and as I stated, I wholeheartedly think he should have sided with Jessica on this one.
According to Amber, Eric is evil and he has no soul. Zach thinks Eric made a mistake by not pulling him off the block and putting up Dick or Daniele.
Eric made a fool's move this week. Time will tell if he ends up paying for it.

You have to remember that Eric and Jessica both have an alliance/deal with Dick and Daniele called final four, so why would he want Amber off and Dick or Daniele up, that would break the deal... also the other hg's don't know about this deal.
Right now if Eric's plan works, it would be Eric and Jessica in the final two with jessica winning. The way I see it, Eric with the help of American really can't win this game, no votes in the jury house against any of the final houseguests and he has already won $30,000 - his tasks.
Think about it? Amber is going to be evicted this week if there's not a tie.

You know, if I were in this position in the house, I probably would have grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and mapped out what could have happened with each choice...then again, I don't know if your allowed paper in the house...

There is no pen or paper in this house, there not allowed, one of the houseguests said it on the after dark feed and I have never seen either.

Don't know if it is just me or what but again last nights episode was just chock full of sexual overtones that I found myself wondering if Big Brother was on a train that is traveling on a rail that will eventually take it to the rail yard or just keep riding the rails without a destination. The "bedroom" scene was inappropriate to the content of the show because at this juncture I already knew that Jess and Eric were trying to see if the furniture fit before they bought the house I didn't have to see them trying to see what piece went where!

I was also upset by the fact that Eric did not try to backdoor either of the Donato Duo. But I think, for once, he was using this America's Player thing to his advantage. If he used the Veto to save Amber it would be going against what he was told to do by America. If he used it to save Zack, chances are America still would have voted for Amber to leave and he still would have been screwed. As much as I would like to see either Dick or Daniele leave, I think it was safer for him to do what he did. And I realize that at this point it's not always best to do what is safe, but he would have been worse off if Dick or Daniele got put on the block and ended up not going home because he was directed to vote for Amber.

In listening to Eric and Jess last night they seemed to want to put father or daughter on the block, but were afraid of the outcome. They meaning D/D already have targeted Jess next. Will Eric be able to safe her? Or better yet will he be able to safe himself? In the end I would rather vote for someone who has already been evicted. But you can't. So the way they are playing this game D/D will be the last two standing.Zach had it right

The only way of evicting either Dick or Danielle would have been to get Jessica to vote out one of them since it would probably come to a tie with zach/amber and jameka voting to evict one of the donatos and eric and the other donato voting to evict zach/amber. Besides assuming Eric wins HOH which he has been saying he will for days, it's a better chance to do it next week. This way amber/zach and jameka are nominated, one wins pov, and then eric can just tell them that he has no choice and has to nominate one of them since it's one of them or jessica and he's already said he has a stronger alliance with jessica. That way if they stay he hasn't burned any bridges and still has an alliance with them. However it's likely they would go with Jessica and whoever the veto was used on voting against the donatos.

I'd like to think Eric is being strategic in not using the POV.
He has already burned some bridges and the only one those sequestered hate more than he is Dick.

If they backdoored D&D then ED would have been shouting from the rooftops about their alliance and then everyone in the house would be mad and target E&J wanting them out. Eric did the best thing he could in the situation that wouldnt fast track them home.

Had Eric used the Veto and backed doored Daniele, lets see what could have happened. Amber and Dani are on the block, Votes would be: America and Dick would vote to evit Amber, Jameka votes for Dani. Zach is a swing vote to go either way. If he choses to evit Dani, it becomes a tie that Jessica has to break and she would send Amber packing. That means that Amber goes home, Dani is still there and able to fight for HOH and revenge is in play if she or Dick wins. The only ones able to get HOH are Dick, Dani, Zach and Eric. Jameka still has a few more weeks to sit out and Jess can't participate as outgoing HOH. Out of the 4, who would win HOH? My bet would be Daniele. I think they figured out what would happen if they changed the nominees and went with the lesser of the two evils. I could be wrong, but this is just one person's opinion.

Anyone who thought Eric would use the POV to get D(anielle) or D(irtbag) on the block was dreaming. Eric is a chicken-sh*t who would not have wanted to face the wrath of D(irtbag) in the time leading up to the eviction ceremony.

Danielle's single solitary little tear for the fallen angel Nick cracked me up.
When she gets home, she's going to find one of two things: either all her clothes are on the lawn, or all her clothes have been boxed up and FedExed to Nick's house.

Right now there are three groups of 2 in the house(Eric/Jessica, Dick/Danielle, Amber/Jameka) and one floater(Zach). If Eric/Jessica had decided to back-door Dick or Danielle, they would have taken over the top spot as the dangerous Alliance, that everyone would have been gunning for. This way Dick and Danielle are still the most theartening Alliance. If Amber goes, Jameka has no one else to turn to but Eric/Jessica. Giving them three in their Alliance when it comes time to go against Dick/Danielle.

Look barring a miracle HOH win by Zach this week it will be Dick, Danielle, Eric, & Jessica. At this point it will come down to who wins the POV that week as they will have all the power and not the HOH. (HOH, 2 Nominees, One Voter) If Eric and Jess can get rid of Danielle that week, Eric will be in a much better position, b/c he is automatically in the final two. Dick won't be Jessica, he has a small chance w/ Eric, and of course Eric would take himself. All in all Eric may not win this game, but he'll probably be there at the end.
I do hope that something else happens to shake things up because it is a little scripted at this point, and Eric will already win $100K plus w/ the America challenges, so he can go at any time.

I saw Frik and Frak (Jameka & Amber) last night trying to convince Jess to put the hammer down on Eric..but I am afraid Jess's nose is a little too open for that now..speaking of which Jess and Eric had better pull their heads out of each other behinds and wake up or they will be sitting side by side in sequester. After seeing how easily ED and Dani blew up at each other last night..I would not be suprised if that alliance is split up in the near future.

Dick and Danielle have no chance of winning the top prize unless they possibly are up against Zach. That is their only hope. Amber, Jameka, Jessica and Eric all beat them. So tell me again why its good to backdoor them?

The best part of Power of 10 with Amber was when Drew Carey asked, "so what's it like feeling like you're being scrutinized all the time in the Big Brother house?" She replied, "Honestly, I don't know what 'scrutinize' means." Priceless.

For those who are saying the sex in the house is taking away from the game...obviously you have not seen the British or other European BB on tv. The US version is pardon the pun "Sunday School version."
As far as ratings British BB will not be on next year due to low ratings. Could be a sign of the US version.

I would want Dick to be next to me in the final two. Everyone hates him so much I don't think he can win the money.
