Big Brother 8: PoV Competition #8

Eric and Jessica hug.

(S08E24)
Eric is either playing an extremely brilliant game of Big Brother or an incredibly stupid one.

Okay, that's not entirely fair. His game play has been pretty impeccable up until this point, especially when you factor the curve balls thrown at him with the America's player challenges

That said, I really find myself questioning his decision not to use the Power of Veto to target at least one his two biggest rivals in the house. Namely, a member of the Donato Duo.

It didn't even really matter which one. At this point in the game, it's absolutely imperative that you take out the strongest players. It's even more mandatory that this gets done when the strongest players happen to be in an alliance held together by DNA.

Tonight was the best opportunity to get rid of a member of the D&D clan, and Eric ultimately blew it. I have a feeling this is going to be something that comes back and haunts him in a few weeks.

While Eric effectively decreased his chances at a half a million dollar prize, he seems to have dramatically increased his chances at love.

Eric, the self proclaimed 5'7" Jewish guy, has touched Jessica's heart in a major way, and I'll be damned if it hasn't turned into a great side plot in a season filled with animosity and contempt.

Eric scopes up for Jessica.
Eric finally grew a pair, Scoped up as seen in the screencap above, and that led to the tender kiss shared below as viewed in Paris Hilton night vision mode - umm, not that I'd know...

Jessica and Eric smooch.
Jessica said that if this was happening outside of the house they'd already be married. She also said Eric was a good kisser. I'm pretty sure after being locked up for 50 days with approximately no action, a rabid Rotweiler would seem like a pretty good kisser too, but whatever.

Jameka sang a song for us tonight. We didn't get to hear the title, but I'm going to go ahead and call it "Thank You Miracle Maker For All Your Love and Splendor".

The lyrics go a little something like this:

I love you so much.
Thank you for being my miracle maker God.

Thank you for restoration.
Thank you for your peace God.

Thank you for your mercy and your grace God.
Thank you for your love God.

This scene went down in the HoH room, and Jessica ended up walking in on Jameka during the performance thinking that Jameka had fallen down and hurt herself. At this point we learned that Jessica is actually, "way into church," and grew up in a Catholic school.

I actually prefer Jessica's approach to religion. It appears to be an unobtrusive and private affair. Amber and Jameka, take note.

The Mystery Trip Revealed

America and the rest of the house heard all about Amber and Daniele's mystery trip to the Power of 10.

I didn't actually catch the episode when it came on, but Amber ended up beating Daniele out for a chance to win 10 Million dollars.

She progressed through the game a little ways, and ultimately botched the $100K question. She ended up walking away with a thousand bucks. Is it wrong that I wish she won a large amount of money so the others would be more inclined to give her the boot? Probably not, because I'd end up being mad that she won a large amount of money. I hate Amber.

Last week I assumed Daniele got to see Nick but that turned out not to be the case. Daniele shed a weary little tear when she realized he was at the show that night and that she would have been able to see him had she prevailed against Amber in the preliminary rounds of the game. Daniele really, really hearts Nick even though she doesn't want to admit it.

What's the over and under on the number of days Daniele and her boyfriend's relationship will last once he sees her reaction in this episode? Three? Six? Negative twenty? If anybody wants a piece of this action, let me know in the comments.

Daniele cries over Nick.

Veto Competition - Cat Scratch Veto

PoV Competition

Jessica pulled Daniele. Zach pulled Eric. Amber chose Jameka. Dick was chosen to be the host.

Zach and Eric got to talk a little strategy before the PoV competition and he made a pretty decent case to try and backdoor Daniele and Dick. Eric even admitted that Zach had some good points which makes it all the more bizarre that he didn't seem keen on taking one of them out.

The competition was a strange mixture of Jeopardy, Hide and Go Seek, and Musical Chairs all narrated by the guy in the Saw movies who likes to kill people.

The contestants were given the answer to a riddle, then given the chance to scramble around the yard to find a rat with an answer to a riddle listed. Once the players got a rat that listed what they thought was the appropriate riddle, they rushed back to a limited number of stumps, and the Saw guy asked them to read their selection. The last person back didn't have a stump and was eliminated from the game.

Answer to riddle: Dustin
Riddle: He was number six to go enemy to one named Joe.
Riddle: Parading in his cape and crown his eviction made him frown.

Jessica was eliminated.

Answer to riddle: Slop
Riddle: This concoction is crude, barely passes as food.
Riddle: Your outlook seems bleak when you eat this for a week.

Jameka was eliminated.

Answer to riddle: Nick
Riddle: Who could know he would be the fourth to go?
Riddle: His heart rang like a bell for house guest Daniele.

Ironically, Daniele was eliminated.

Answer to riddle: Jen
Riddle: Big brother thought it would be hard but she loved to wear that unitard.
Riddle: She was HoH number two but claimed her word was always true.

Zach was eliminated.

It came down to Amber and Eric.

Answer to riddle: Veto
Riddle: It may come as a shock if you win this you're off the block.

God forsake Amber and Eric won the PoV.

America's Player - Who should Eric Kiss?

Wow, America loves Eric. Not only did Eric already complete this task without direction - he's pretty much at a point where he can kiss Jessica whenever he wantsl. Once again, Eric Scoped up.

Eric scopes up again.

Then, he sauntered into the HoH room with the confidence of a Greek statue, grabbed Jessica strongly, and demanded a kiss. She obliged by giving him a little peck on the lips. And with that, Eric completed another one of America's challenges.

Eviction Ceremony

Eric was kind of in a precarious situation. He was stuck between honoring his alliance with Dick and Daniele, but at the same time his new lover wanted him to backdoor one of them.

Eric ended up not using the PoV this week and as I stated, I wholeheartedly think he should have sided with Jessica on this one.

According to Amber, Eric is evil and he has no soul. Zach thinks Eric made a mistake by not pulling him off the block and putting up Dick or Daniele.

Eric made a fool's move this week. Time will tell if he ends up paying for it.

In your opinion, who is the frontrunner to win Big Brother 8?
