Tim Minear's next project will be at ABC. The network just won a lengthy bidding war with Fox for Minear's new show, Miracle Man. Minear created it with Emmy winning producer Todd Holland, who also created Wonderfalls with Minear. Miracle Man "centers on a disgraced former televangelist, a man of no faith, who finds that God is using him to perform real miracles and change lives, starting with his own", according to The Hollywood Reporter.Minear has a lot of fans out there for many of his short-lived shows, including Drive, Wonderfalls, and Firefly. For Miracle Man, Minear is reaching back to his upbringing for material. He grew up in an evangelical family and his father works for religious radio. Minear says the series is not an attack on religion.
So far, ABC has just made a pilot commitment to Miracle Man.

Good for him! Maybe ABC won't pull the plug as fast as FOX did with all his other shows... Drive kinda sucked, but the guy's a really talented writer.

This sounds ("Highway to Heaven") like it's going ("Touched by an Angel") to be really ("Joan of Arcadia") original (Steve Martin in "Leap of Faith").

With Nathan Fillion in the role of the miracle man, of course.

Time to place your bets on how many shows air before cancellation...

Oh, come on guys. Even if it lasts only five or six episodes, that's fix or six episodes of quality Minear/Holland goodness. If we're lucky, Pushing Daisies will be a hit, and ABC will use its night to launch Minear's new series (a guy can dream, right?). I'll be looking forward to see if it lands on ABC's schedule.

TB - as my wife refers to, my "man crush" I will pretty much watch him in any role - and I don't watch too much pilot TV anymore. He is the very definition of a 21st century man's man - none of this metrosexual (on the one hand) or Fred Thompson (on the other) bull crap. And Damn if Harrison Ford hasn't let us all down.
