(S08E23) It was kind of a lite night in the Big Brother 8 house, but I found it to be a nice departure from the chaos that ensued during most of last week's episode.
Outside of a setback in Dick and Daniele's relationship, there wasn't a great deal of conflict tonight. In fact, I found a bulk of the episode to be on the amusing side with the highlight arriving when Jameka told Amber that she should pursue a career in modeling once the show is over.
Yes, you read that correctly. I just typed "Amber" and "a career in modeling" in the same sentence.
After Jameka made the suggestion Amber really got into it the spirit of the conversation and over the course of the next few minutes said:
- Nick said I should be on Top Model. He said my face was just blam blam. (I'm guessing "blam blam" is a good thing and does not suggest she'd been hit in the face with a 2 X 4 which is what I would have guessed it meant)
- I'd like to be on Top Model. I have the hair the face and the personality.
- I would love to pursue modeling - I know I have a really pretty body and face.
- I know I could get somewhere in the modeling field with the way I talk, and you know I'm not shy and I'm very outgoing.
I'm not even really sure how to comment on any of this. I find Amber to be one of the least attractive people I've ever seen both in appearance and substance. I have no idea why Amber thinks so highly of herself. I find confidence to be an extremely attractive quality, however, I like my confidence to be founded on fact. I see nothing that resembles fact in any of Amber's assessments above.
I'd also like to refer Jameka to a good Lasik surgeon. There is something terribly wrong with her vision.
Eviction Ceremony Revisited
If you recall, just before Jen left the house last week she told Amber "not to forget to tell Jess."
As it turned out, Jen was wanting Amber to tell Jessica that Eric could not be trusted, and that he had a girlfriend named Cheryl at home. Jen was basically alluding to the idea that Eric was cheating on Cheryl with Jessica or vice versa.
Amber ultimately relayed the message to Jessica, but it didn't really have the effect that Jen intended. Eric ended up talking to Jessica and explained that he was in an off and on relationship with this girl and that he really didn't know where the relationship was at.
Despite what I just mentioned, the showmance between Eric and Jessica still appears to be right on the cusp of happening as indicated by the conversation the two of them had where Eric playfully asked:
"In an upcoming competition - you earn 30 minutes of cam free time with Eric. What do you do?"
A. Talk strategy the entire time.
B. Rip your clothes off immediately in the heat of passion and spend every minute making out with Eric.
C. Shyly and awkwardly sit for 30 minutes saying "should I" - then spend last 5 minutes sharing the first kiss.
Jessica chose option B.
Why don't these two just make a baby already and get it over with?
Tonight on Dr. Phil
The Danatos appeared to be getting along a lot better in recent weeks, but the relationship took a drastic setback when Daniele expressed how annoyed she was with her vitamin pushing father.
In several sequences, you could tell that she was being really short with him, so he ended up asking her why she was being so impatient with him. She chose to give him another one of her infamous lists as an answer.
More things that Daniele is sick of:
- Sick of everyone in the house
- SIck of Dick farting all the time
- Sick of all of Dick's rude comments
- Sick of Dick trying to parent her all the time
Apparently, DIck and Daniele have had two heated arguments the last two nights and they've been loud enough for the entire house to hear. Eric seemed to think that it was all fake but they looked pretty authentic to me.
Luxury Challenge
Tonight's challenge was a girls versus boy affair per Jessica's decision.
The contestants had to get into their birthday suits , get into a giant foam spewing machine, and decipher a serious of Big Brother related words strewn across a series of garments.
Daniele mentioned that she is fairly conservative and is very uncomfortable with nudity. Thankfully, a partition separated the men from the women. I can't imagine how disgusted Dick and Daniele would have felt had they had to see each other's naughty regions. 
The girls pretty much destroyed the men in this competition which led to the humorous and slightly hot screencap below. Well, hot if I would have cropped Amber out of it.
As a prize, the women got to go on a two minute shopping spree in the living room where they were able to keep as many outfits as they could fit on their frame. Daniele, the self-proclaimed professional shopper, appeared to make off with the most loot.
Nomination Ceremony
As stated, the episode moved pretty quickly but nothing of great import seemed to happen. Even the eviction ceremony felt a little anticlimactic.
Jessica pulled Eric.
Eric pulled Daniele.
Daniele pulled Jameka.
Jameka pulled ED.
That left Zach and Amber are on the block for eviction.
Zach seemed sad that he'd actually have to put some effort into sticking around this week.
Amber said "God bless you - God" during a prayer where she asked to stay in the game another week. Will Amber's prayers be answered? Is it actually possible for God to bless himself?

Just a heads up, Big Brother broadcasts in 4:3 aspect ratio. You appear to be stretching out all the screencaps into 16:9.

When Amber said, "God Bless You God" I laughed so hard I fell off the couch!! I could have broken my neck, and it would have been Amber's fault. That's it! I'm done with Big Brother. It is officially dangerous!!!!

Just a couple of questions, Whos "brilliant" idea was it to have a competition at the BB house that involved nudity?? Did they not remember WHO was still around in the house?? The show was boarderline "degrading"! How could the powers that be feel that a show, never in the past mind you, expressing nudity was beneficial? Dick was put in a situation that, as a father myself, was very disturbing. Daniele also had to feel uncomfortable as did the other houseguests. What's next, more revealing photos of the houseguests displayed on those trash papers that you glance at while standing in a checkout line at the market? Big Brother ought to wake up before lowering themselves into the depravity that they tetered on with that type of nonsense again.

Yeah, I wasn't big on the whole nudity game. I don't really have a problem with nudity, but the whole father/daughter aspect is creepy - even if separated by the screen.

No word on a double elimination Chester, but our resident Big Brother expert Jackie thinks we have an extra body in the house as compared to this point in past seasons - so it's probably imminent.

I have been for Eric during the whole game, and sympathized with him because he could not always do what he felt he needed to do because of being America's player. But he really goofed this week in not using his power of veto to get rid of the two biggest threats, Evil Dick and Danielle. Now I think he doesn't deserve to win. I would really like to Jameka go all the way. She is the only one I think really deserves to win.
