- Max Hodge: He was a writer who worked on several TV shows over the years, including Mission: Impossible, Wild Wild West, CHiPs, Ironside, Alias Smith and Jones, The Waltons, Eight is Enough, The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan, Cannon, Marcus Welby, M.D., and many others. He was also a writer for Batman and created the Mr. Freeze character. He died at age 91 in Woodland Hills, CA.
- Paul Boyd: Details are still coming in about the death of animator Boyd, who worked on such shows as Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy, The Mr. Hell Show, Mucha Lucha, and Gary Larson's Tales From The Far Side. He was shot to death by police on August 13 after an altercation where he was wielding a weapon towards police. Some witnesses say the police used excessive force. His family has released a statement. Boyd was 39.
- Chet Collier: He was a veteran, award-winning TV producer and head of Westinghouse Broadcasting who produced The Mike Douglas Show and shows starring Regis Philbin and Merv Griffin. He helped start FOX News Channel with Roger Ailes. He died in Florida at age 80.

I am pretty sure Bob Kane created Mr. Freeze in 1959 back in the comics way before he hit the tiny screen.
