Drew Carey and The Price is Right will premiere on October 15th on CBS. Just like Bob Barker's final episode, Drew Carey's inaugural episode will include some pretty spendy prizes. While the network isn't saying exactly what will be won, it does say that contestants will have a chance to win "some of the most expensive cars" ever on the game show.Carey began filming the 36th season of The Price is Right on August 15th. He had a slight mishap when he got his arm wrenched in one of the games, but now it sounds like smooth sailing for Carey. The Price is Right continues filming through October and apparently free tickets are still available, if you're going to be in the Los Angeles area. CBS has now made tickets available on this website.
Joel recently wrote about what to expect this season on The Price is Right and the bottom line is that the set is getting spruced up a bit, but the show and the games are staying the same. I have to admit that I'm excited to see Drew Carey as the host... and I'm willing to give him a few episodes to get in his groove. And, as long as the audience still yells prices (which means I can yell them at my television), I'm happy.

I HATE Drew Carey and he is definitely not a worthy replacement for Bob. He is such a dork and is not funny at all. I will probably end up not watching The price is right anymore, they should have just ended the show with the end of Bob's career and let us stay with the good memories of the show with Bob

I just saw the "new" show, and I was pleased with it. Yes, Drew Carey was an unexpected choice for the new host and was a little awkward today, but I would be too if I were replacing someone who had done this for thirty-five years. Personally, I don't think people are giving him enough credit for how much he has to deal with. He has enormous shoes to fill, and people saying, "He'll never live up to Bob Barker" or "They should just cancel the show" can't possibly help him do his best. Just because he's not Bob Barker doesn't mean he can't do this well. Some people might not know this, but Barker wasn't the first host of "The Price is Right." I bet people treated him the same way when he first started out. Anyway, I think Drew Carey will do fine as long as he works on building the show's suspense.

I personally found Drew to be a bit stiff on this morning's show. He wasn't looking that comfortable.
I miss the charisma Bob Barker gave the show.
Maybe in time Drew will relax a bit and be okay but for now, I'm not completely thrilled.
Nothing against Drew Carey at all mind you, just needs to relax some.

After watching Drew on Monday I really can't help but think that the show was a bit "staged". A perfect game on his first day at the office? Tad too much for me. Although letting fans of Drew up on stage, letting the younger woman win so that a younger crowd (whom in my opinion is a large fan base for Mr. Carey) would feel a part of the show, is a great way to get people loving him fairly quick. Honestly, that is the only way to get past Bob Barker. You have to just cut the ties quick. Leave the small moments to remember, such as the neutering and spaying for dogs comment at the end, just to keep people remember the double B. To me though, after watching Drew yesterday...I really can't see watching anyone else host the greatest game show on television for another 35 years. Go Drew.

Drew is the worst host of any game show I have seen. I have watching Price Is Right since it began. He is very stiff and doesn't connect with the contenstants. Why didn't they choose someone who shows charm, and makes the players feel like he wants to be there. He is a big bore. Why didn't you choose someone like John O'Hurley? I won't be watching this boring show any more.
He belongs on night time joke shows where he was.

He gives you the feeling he is just going through the motions. He talks tooooooo fast. His diction is horrible. His cool comments are degrading. He just doesn't belong on any prize show.
