Big Brother 8 fans, both ones who watch the show and those who are into the 24/7 live feeds from inside the house, have questions on their minds this season. We're talking a lot of questions. In past seasons, the executive producer was Arnold Shapiro with Allison Grodner at his side. This season is the first one in which Allison Grodner is the executive producer. And, it hasn't been an easy season. The show has a cast of colorful characters, to say the least. There have been dramatic swings of power in the house, as well as drama-filled houseguests.
Allison Grodner was interviewed by EW.com, and I'd like to delve into some of the issues discussed as I know they're also on your mind. Beware -- there are spoilers for tonight's show in both the article linked and after the jump.
Ah, the first question is one which has bugging the live feed watchers. Jen is on a slop restriction due to a deal she made in a Power of Veto contest. For the past few days she's been eating everything and anything. In her mind, it seems she thinks that will get her expelled from the show instead of being sent to sequester. She doesn't want to be stuck in sequester.
Ms. Grodner said that it isn't a penalty nomination situation as Jen is already on the block. It's unprecedented. She doesn't think it's right to penalize her the following week for an offense this week. In the interview, she doesn't go into detail what the punishment will be, but stated it will be shown on tonight's show. If you want to peek, I posted that penalty in my last live feeds update.
Allison Grodner also said that the rules don't permit houseguests to destroy the property of other houseguests. So, that's why Dick received replacement cartons of cigarettes after Jen destroyed the ones he had. What about the mustarding of Jen's shirt which was vandalism at the direction of the production staff? She claimed it washed out and, if it had come to light who the culprit was, they would have admonished him. Um, okay.
She denied the rumors that a card for America's Player was left out and found by another houseguest. And, she says if Eric completes this week's tasks, he'll be up to $30,000. She said Jen calling Eric Mr. America had absolutely nothing to do with America's Player.

It doesn't really matter if Jen found out something or not cause she got voted out and will be joining Dustin in sequester. Which is bound to be funny because he had a really great attitude on House calls after his eviction, and Jen seemed very odd after she got the boot, actually she seemed strangely odd the entire episode. I was completely surprised that she began to antagonize Dick not only trashing his cigs but then instigating that huge confrontation. I guess she must have realized she was definitely going home and just decided to do whatever she felt like but I thought it was really stupid on her part to start in on Dick. I mean I realize he's a total jerk and has been incredibly rude to her at times, but I thought she would have been smart enough to just stay away from him instead of picking fights with him, this time she gave him every reason to cuss at her and he took full advantage of it, she looked completely crazed trying to rip the lit cigarette out of his hand, hello it's burning paper, you don't grab it, sane people know better than to do something so stupid. She was starting to grow on me too, It's a shame she went out just as bad as when she started playing the game. And the train wreck continues, and I continue to watch but I can't really root for anyone they are all so revolting in their own little ways I'd don't care who gets the money. I really hope Amber won some money on that game show so she finally stops crying and they can give her the boot. I'm so tired of her that I can't even stand the site of her face anymore.

Patrick -- This sentence -- "Beware -- there are spoilers for tonight's show in both the article linked and after the jump." -- was before the jump. Why did you read on after you were warned it contained show spoilers? There were no spoilers before that point, none at all.

No Helen, men won't think that it is the norm to be disrespectful to women. We will however, think that women are stupid if they antagonize men and vandalize their personal property. Hopefully most people are smart enough not to over generalize the issue, like you have done, and realize that the situations are completely different between what is going on in the Big Brother house and domestic abuse. Here both parties are clearly guilty of extremely poor conduct on a reality show. It was Jen's own bad behavior which resulted in ED's bad behavior. If you attempt to grab a lit cigarette out of someones hand, more than likely you will get burned. And it was obvious from the crazed look in Jen's eyes she was trying to do just that, as a way to look like the victim when she was actually the one at fault. As for the name calling of course it is totally disrespectful but destroying personal property is totally disrespectful as well, possible more so, depends on what you value more.

Linda - welcome! If you're referring to the night he was evicted, the barbershop quartet, mini-mad hatter and all actually happened and were filmed the day before the eviction show and its HOH comp.

i certainly know the difference between reality and a game show, but dick has been disrespectful since he began the show, is it any wonder his own child hasn't spoken to him for years!!! yes jen should not have destroyed his tobacco but did you see the episode where dick poured ice tea on jen, and she walked away.. it didnt matter if it was jen or any woman in there, he has gotten in all their faces, the only one he hasnt picked on is zack, is it because zack is a big man not like dustin or eric
