About a month ago, it was announced that the next season of 24 would feature a female president played by actress Cherry Jones. Thanks to Cynthia Turner's Cynopsis, we can now reveal who will play the First Husband. Actor Colm Feore has been cast in the role of the President's husband.Movie fans may remember him for his roles in The Chronicles of Riddick, Paycheck, and Pearl Harbor, just to name three. He also guest starred in U.S. TV series such as Battlestar Galactica, Boston Public, and The West Wing.
Feore has mostly been in Canadian productions from TV series such as Due South and Slings and Arrows to mini-series such as Trudeau, in which he played former Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau, not forgetting countless of movies and theater productions.
Having seen him act in various projects (most recently in the movie Bon Cop, Bad Cop), I think that he is a good choice for the role. He should bring the needed standing such a character demands and should easily be able to perform the dramatic scenes required of the role (for a sneak peek at what the First Husband will be involved in, read our latest edition of Spoilers Anonymous).

As a Canadian and 24 fan, I LOVE this news! For you Americans who don't know him, I can tell you this guy rocks. The ultimate character actor - he can do anything, and do it well. He'll be great.

As a woman living in Canada, I have to second this as great news! Well, I don't watch "24" but I adore Colm Feore - he's a great actor and very sexy. Maybe I'll have to start watching....

I think for the American audience, he "broke" with Stephen King's "Storm Of The Century". I also know him from the second season of "Slings & Arrows", in which he was a crazy advertising guru.

Oreo: He did play a few evil characters. But if the First Husband will be anything like the First Ladies of "24," being evil will be part of the job description ;)

Liberal PC. Next we'll have Jane Fonda as Secretary of State, Michael Moore as Secretary of Defence....and...Ted Kennedy as...Presidential Limo Driver. Susan Sarandon as U.N. Ambasador...and to be completely PC, we can have George Clooney as the secret lover of the First Husband.

I do love how people like Frankly see everything in political terms even when it's not. Why is casting Colm Feore as the husband of the President "Liberal PC"? Because it's a woman president? Because Colm Feore is a Canadian (and we're all Liberals up here)? Would it surprise him to know that "Jack Bauer" supports socialized medicine? It's true - well at least the actor does. Kiefer Sutherland is the grandson of T.C. Douglas who, as premier of Saskatchewan, introduced the first socialized medical plan in North America, and Kiefer, together with his mother Shirley Douglas, are quite vocal in advocating preservation and improvement of the system.

I had no idea Kiefer Sutherland was Tommy Douglas' grandson! I find that fascinating for some reason. But Brent, I don't think most people in the States know the difference between US liberals and Canadian Liberals so I doubt that's what Frankly was referring to. I don't know why hiring a certain actor would make a TV show "liberal" or not.

24 loves Canadian actors. I'm starting to think that Canadian citizenship is on the sheets that the casting agents send out to the agencies. :)
Okay, not really, but I like that the show is full of Canadian talent. Even Shaun Majumder made an appearance last season.

Boy, Brent - talk about the inferiority complex you have. Can't blame you though, being from Canada and all. It's a known fact that most of Canada is Communist (even though they use the PC euphemism: "socialized.") What do they say about a rose by any other name?
As the US never had a female President, it is PC acclimation of the proletariate by "Socialist" elitists'. Been going on for a while. Could be interesting though - the woman President (Cherry) getting her blue dress stained by a young Intern stud. LOL
To the "hiring a certain actor"/actress - did anyone see The Daily Show? The most conservative show on television. Maybe Rush L. will host that show next season.

Once again liberal hollywood is playing it's trump card whenever possible. (female president, and first man ) could this be an endorsement for hilary, and the dork bill.
