In order to create more buzz about its new Monday show K-Ville, Fox decided to put the full pilot online for U.S. citizens to watch. Surely, they hope that TV fans will watch it before its September 17 premiere and blog about it, thus generating a buzz (and creating a free marketing campaign).K-Ville, a series starring Antony Anderson and Cole Hauser, is a police drama set in New Orleans, two years after Katrina hit the city. The series follows cops who remained active after the devastating event as they try to reclaim and rebuild the city.
The pilot is available via this link (clicking it will open Windows Media Player or your player by default) and at FOX On Demand, the network's new full episode destination. Note that the pilot will be taken offline on August 31.
Update! AOL now offers the pilot online as well and it seems that non-U.S. citizen may be able to watch it. You watch the episode here.

Forget FOX, even if this show is halfway decent FOX will screw it up by either overhyping it and being disappointed in the numbers or shuffle it around. The screwed with many good shows over the years and I no longer watch FOX till a show has survived at least one year of the FOX curse, Which would be the death of a show that has a small but loyal fan following only to be replaced by the trashiest forms of better reality shows if there is such a thing as a good reality show.

I like it when networks do this and let you decide up front if investing the time is worth it. Has anyone else heard of other shows taking this approach? I remember last year HEROES was on ITunes for free, a few shows showed up on Netflix and EW mailed some in one of their Fall Preview issues. Any insight into similar tactics would be great.

Well I gotta say, I'm more than willing to give free advertising when they're giving me a legit way to watch the show whenever I want, uninterrupted by commercials, and most importantly, the stream works on my Linux laptop. Also, I gotta give props to Anthony Anderson, finally rising above the lousy comedies he's been in the past few years. I'll check this show out when it comes on regular tv as well, just I've got to find a way to jerry-rig some listings into my PVR...

We just watched the K-Ville preview and thought it was pretty good. Hopefully, FOX will give it chance, as it is sometimes difficult to tell at first how good (or bad) a new show will be. New shows will frequently get better as the characters and story lines develop, even if they are a little "rough around the edges" in the beginning.

I have listened to WWL-AM Talk Radio ever since the hurricane caused so much damage to some of the low lying neighborhoods. If the levees fail at the next flooding the same thing will happen.
The Residents dont know whether to raise the homes that are repairable or to build on the gtound because no one will give the correct answer.
Those that do build better have deeeep pockets for home owners insurance. If they are lucky enough to find an Insurance company that will insure them.
The NPD is still losing more officers than it can replace.
The fire dept. is a joke
Not too many Drs. remain.
Crime is rampent!
The D.A. losines witness and has to let killers walk.
Some of the levee systems are built on volcanic fissures according to geologist (pardon my spelling).
I would like to see the city rebuilt. And the homes rebuilt if the road home money is distributed any time in the next year.
Mayor Nagen says "come home all is well lets rebuild".
But all is not well at all.
A Fairhope, Al neighbor wishing KVILLE the city well.
Of course I am just a dumb ole' southern boy.....
