(S08E21) I can't tell if Eric has game but doesn't realize it or if he's simply trying to stay focused on winning this season of Big Brother.
It's probably a combination of both and regardless of which one it is, he's got a budding showmance burning to happen and he absolutely refuses to embrace it.
He's basically the anti-Nick. Chances are if Nick hadn't gotten so smitten with Daniele early in the game, he'd be in the house right now thinking of new things to do with facial hair and hair gel.
I'd hate to see Eric make a similar mistake, and I commend him for fighting off the temptations of an attractive woman.

And fight temptation is what he appears to be doing judging by his reaction when Zach decided to pull what I will tastefully refer to as the "rooster block."
Eric didn't look remotely happy that Zach decided to barge in on the wrestling lesson he was pretending to give Jessica. In fact, I'm pretty sure Eric would have reached into Zach's chest, pulled out his beating heart, and taken a bite out of it if he could have figured out a way to do so without jeopardizing his chance at the grand prize.
America's Player - Who should Eric give his childhood Woobie to?
America threw Eric a softball and he belted it out of the park tonight. They selected Jessica to be the recipient of the Woobie and I was extremely disappointed. As stated, I'd have really liked to see Eric awkwardly give the Woobie to Dick. No such luck, and I suspect that America is actually getting keen on the idea of Eric and Jessica striking up a good old fashioned love affair. You're leading Eric down the wrong path America. He doesn't need the distraction.
Anyhow, Jessica ate up the story Eric fed her about the Woobie, and there is a good possibility that the bond between the two has reached Krazy Glue like proportions.
This Eric and Jessica alliance is going to be a tough one to deal with down the line. The house guests would be wise to bust it up as soon as they can.And now for a list of things Daniele and Zach are sick of:
- Daniele is sick of her dad because he is driving her nuts.
- Zach is too.
- Daniele is sick of Jameka and Amber for moping around.
- Daniele is sick of Jen and her complaining.
- Daniele is sick of Jen's voice
- Zach is sick of Jen going:

I'm not sure what the last one meant, but I'm guessing Zach is sick of Jen having seizures and nearly swallowing her tongue?
- Finally, JJ is sick of Daniele mentioning how sick she is of everything.
Tonight, we learned that the top two winners of the PoV contest would win a top secret trip out of the house.
Daniele picked her dad. Amber selected Jessica. Jameka pulled out Zach's ball on behalf of God. As usual, Eric was the host.
The competition played out like this:
Big Brother fans from all over America were asked percentage questions about the house guests. The house guest who's percentage was furthest from the answer a majority of America gave was eliminated after each round.
- What percentage of those polled think Kail would be a good politician? Answer was 19% - Dick was eliminated for guessing 78%.
- What percentage of those polled think life in the Big Brother house is easy? Answer was 14% - Zach was eliminated for guessing 62%.
- What percentage of those polled think that Dustin is a better boyfriend than Joe? Answer was 47% - Jessica was eliminated for guessing 67%.
- What percentage of those polled think said they would rather have a beer with Nick than Mike? Answer was 70% - Jameka was eliminated for guessing 87%.
- What percentage of those polled said that Zach was the sexiest bunny of them all? Answer was 35%. Daniele won PoV by answering 46%. She's getting dangerously close to Big Brother badass status if she isn't there already. Also, since Dani and Amber were the final two, they get to leave the house together to go on the special trip.
Amber talked to Jameka and wondered what she should do if Daniele approached her and promised to take her off the block. Jameka said, "Take the deal, but whatever you do don't give up too much." I found this to be a textbook example of foreboding.
Right on cue, Amber and Daniele were talking in the HoH room and Daniele offered Amber a deal. The kicker? All Daniele requested was that Amber not put her up for eviction should she win HoH next week. Amber did her one better. By her own will she offered up the following.
- If you take me off tomorrow - whenever I have HoH I won't put you on the block.
- I won't backdoor you. I swear on my daughter.
- I'll vote however you want me to vote this week.
- You are safe guaranteed whenever my HoH time comes.
It was the equivalent of holding a garage sale, putting a $1 price tag on something, and having some jackass come up to you and say, "I know you only want a dollar, but here, take $20, no $50, no $1,000. Oh, and do you have any enemies? Give me their address, I'll kill them for you too."
Amber is an idiot. I try not to throw that term out too often, but I don't think anyone will have a problem with me using it in this instance. Just beyond comprehension. Seriously.
Power of Veto Ceremony
Daniele honored the deal that she brokered with Amber that Amber gave to her and Amber was removed from the block. Jen went up for eviction in her stead.
Jen promised to make Daniele and Dick her primary targets for the remainder of the game should she stick around to see another week.

"Special Trip"
Did anyone else find the special trip to be incredibly lame? CBS pulled a dirty trick and threw some cross-promotion into our Big Brother tonight. I guess a trip to New York will be kind of interesting, but I always find product placement and/or advertising another show within a show to be a distracting gimmick.
I'm guessing next episode we'll see how the trip played out.

-- I don't think much could ever come of the Eric-Jessica showmance, because a) frankly, I'm still not convinced he's straight; b) she likes him, but she's mostly just toying with him because she enjoys the attention; and c) when she eventually finds out about the "America's player" thing, and that he's been lying to her the whole time, she's going to get angry (even knowing he couldn't have done anything differently).
-- I noticed very little time was given to Dick this episode. Clearly, the producers realize what a liability he's become. (Although at the same time they're probably still afraid that without him the show would become even more boring.)
-- If Amber or Daniele did win a million bucks on the Drew Carey game show, that person would have a lot less motivation to care what happens to her on "BB." Of course, if Amber won, she'd have to be hospitalized for dehydration from all the crying. Though I'd kind of like Daniele to win big -- not because she deserves it, but because it would be fun to see her trying to hide the fact that she's rich from her dad.

Hey JJ, love your blog... I just wanted to let you know that you put down that Dustin was the POV competition host, so unless Dustin has come back from the dead, I think that was an error. I really enjoy your comments, they are witty and entertaining, and I always look forward to your take on things in the BB house.
Okay, so here's how I see things as of now:
I don't think I have ever seen anyone as sad and pathetic as Amber in the whole history of reality TV. This poor girl has so many issues and so much baggage. It's frightening that she is a parent. I feel so bad for her poor little girl! Amber is the biggest disaster since Chernobyl. I find myself torn between wanting her to leave because I've been sick of her crying since day three, and wanting her to stay because, well, you know how you've always got to look at a bad traffic accident even though it's incredibly disturbing? Amber = six car pile up.
I hope Jen stays and Jameka goes. Jen has grown on me, kind of like a fungus, and I am fed up with watching the moron-a-thon that is Jameka. I don't really care what happens with Dick and Daniele anymore, and I've never been a fan of Jessica. My opinion of Zach has improved dramatically since the bunny suit, so I don't mind if he sticks around a bit longer.
I'm quite impressed with Eric. I think it's incredible that he has managed to stick around while serving the twisted will of America. That's quite an accomplishment, and I hope he wins.
This group is so dysfunctional. Where do they find these people? Great season... loving it!

This episode was one of the worst of the season. They spent an agonizingly long time showing discussion beween Amber and Jameka. The houseguests should start a new drinking game for whenever either of those two mention God.
It's unlikely, but one of those two (preferrably both) need to leave the game very soon. I can't stand either of them.
At least they gave Zach a little screen time this week. He's not my favorite player, but you almost feel bad for him because he just never seems to quite fit in with anyone. He's just a little off, but not in an entirely bad way.
The lack of the Evel one being shown in the episode also made it very boring. They better show more of ED in the next episode, he's making the whole show. Evel Dick is definitely this seasons Will Kirby.

Last nights show was boring and the lack of "hutzpah!" from Dick may have played a part but Amber and Jameka are becoming or have become very selfish in their ideals when it comes to having GOD lead them to the promise land. The first thing that I can remember being taught about asking GOD for anything was not to ask him for personal gain, being monetary or whatever, but these two are only thinking out for themselves and to involve GOD constantly in their decision making is ludicrous. I think that both of them should stop trying to be the voice in the desert.

I don't remember the results of the survey when Eric was supose to be nice to some one in the house. This was the week when Dani put Eric up for eviction. I know everything I read everyone wanted it to be Dick. What was the results?

Just went down for a cup of coffee and my daughter is watching last nights show and guess what was on.... Yes Amber crying and crying over losing the POV. This season is horrible and don't even care to watch the SHO feed anymore. I don't have any emotional connection to any of the players like I have in past seasons. Daniel seems to be the lucky one this year but she is no Janelle. I think maybe CBS hade a mistake by giving us such a big insight into the house this year. Now we can truly see what goes on inside and it's not so entertaining.

This is season 8 for Big Brother and the show has gone from a unique venture in television to such a ho-hum sort of show that if it is scripted, as some think and suggest, then FIRE THE WRITERS!, and if it isn't, then get back to the screening of the houseguests that it did in the past. I know progression is a valuble commoddity but Big Brother seems to be mired in the mud and is just putting on a program to fill a time slot. This years "houseguests" wouldn't get past my front door and are definitely a far cry from the "guests" of the past. This season even Julie Chen seems to be flubbing more and is even getting boring which never happened before this season. I don't know, maybe a new host or hostess, or some sort of different format on the show, like maybe HOH picks 3 nomminees for eviction right off the bat, 2 for eviction and 1 for sort of "bull pen" that if one nomminee gets POV the one in the pen know that they're going up and if the one in the pen wins POV, then the two on the block know that there's no help for them and all of the BS as far as making ludicrous deals would cease. I don't know, it's just a thought but, somethings' gotta change for Big Brother to continue to be unique, if not, it'll be B. B. B. B.="Bye Bye Big Brother"!

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought last night's show was pretty interesting. Danielle had already stated her target was Jen and so the POV challenge was primed for competition. The surprise trip made it even more competitive. You know Amber, Jameka, and Dani were intent on winning; Eric and Jen both wanted to draw in to insure their survival (i.e., not be backdoored). Eric has to realize his alliance with D & D is built on shaky ground being subject to America's whims and caprice. If he is forced to vote contrary to his new alliance there goes his credibility and his showmance! Zach is starting to make his presence felt and it appears he is willing to swoop in and replace Eric in ALL of his alliances. I'm pretty sure Evil will nurture his relationship with Zach for as long as possible as Zach has a survival instinct that Dick seems attuned to. We all know Eric had his ass in a sling just a couple of weeks ago and it's probable his most egregious and obvious treachery lies ahead of him. Daniele demonstrated once again her lack of ability to handle the power of the HOH. Amber, for all her misery and confusion, demonstrated a much better grasp of the true power of the position. (If Amber has to choose between honoring her commitment to Daniele and turning on Jameka, how will she decide? How much water will flow on resolving that conundrum?) Daniele will probably continue to be a force to reckon with but it also appears with her: what HOH giveth, Daniele throweth away. The end-game here promises a continuation of the turmoil and tempestuous nature that has characterized the first half of the season because of the innate characteristics of the remaining players and their pronounced idiosyncracies.
Every chapter in a book can't be climactic; some time has to be devoted to the set-up.

I just heard that Danielle did win some money on the Power of 10, and as for Amber, a big fat zero. I suspect she cried all the way back to the BB house. I wonder if Danielle will tell that scuz bucket of a dad how much she won..maybe she will buy herself a new pair of big boots...lol

After watching the show last night, I can't wait for the first double eviction week- may it be next week, please!
I can't decide between Jameka, Amber and Jen, who I would rather see go home first. Amber is a very sad case (I worry about her daughter, and I am really not tryng to be mean, but where is that girl's brain?). Jameka is not playing at all like I imagined her playing during the first week or two. Jen either! At first I thought I would enjoy seeing Jen in the final two against Daniele, but I've changed my mind. She's not as good at playing this game as I thought.
I hope that the house knows they have to separate Eric and Jessica. They are a big threat in this game because they are getting so close (at least in Jess' mind!).
My thoughts on Eric change quite regularly based on what America tells him to do! He's quite impressive given all the challenges he's faced, but I wonder if he can really make it to the end.
Dick, of course will be gone the first chance they get, and rightfully so!
Then there is Zack! Oh my gosh - is he really playing the game, or just sitting there? You gotta wonder!
Does Big Brother have any more twists to throw their way! I hope so!

This thought about Amber and Jameka. If GOD was telling both of them how and what moves to make in the house, with Ambers' "vision" being abruptly ended, seems to me that GOD picked up the remote and changed channels!! Guess HE decided that HE gave them the "sight" but it fell on eyes "blinded" by personal gain! This isn't a dig against religion, just that the two of these "followers" have come to the fork in the road and now have to decide which path to take and GOD is sitting back and saying, "Don"t blame ME!"

Amber is a complete screwball. She lets something as trivial as losing the power of veto cause doubt in her belief of God? Forget all the horrors going on in the world on a small scale or a global one, she has doubts because she didn't win a game. I see her falling right back into substance abuse once she leaves the house. She is too fragile and weak minded.
I worry for Eric this week. A lot of people watching the show have grown to like Jen and they may have him vote for Jameka. No way he is convincing D&D that Amber voted to boot her and to take it off himself he would have to sacrifice Jessica, which will be a hard sell and destroy his alliance. His only choice is to point it toward Zach.
He has turned lemons to lemonade before, but this time, unless he wins HoH or PoV , his days may be numbered if this scenario pans out.
