Animation news: Frisky Dingo, Danny Phantom, Mr. Men, and Joel Hodgson visits the Cartoon Dump

Mr. HappyHere's some animation news from the past week or so:

First, don't forget that Frisky Dingo's second season kicks off on August 26 on Adult Swim at midnight. That's next Sunday.

In a younger vein, kids can look forward to brand new episodes of Danny Phantom starting tomorrow, August 20. New episodes will premiere throughout the week at 4:00 p.m. each day, ending with the hour-long TV movie Phantom Planet at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

I swear I've written about this before, but can't seem to find it anywhere on this dang blog: The Mr. Men Show is coming to Cartoon Network in January 2008. They've already started to license toys for the new animated series, which, as you might have guessed, is based on the "Mr. Men" and "Little Miss" picture books by Roger Hargreaves.

Speaking of toys, if someone wants to buy me these awesome Underdog figures, I wouldn't complain. Also found on Cartoon Brew: a link to some music and whatnot from Hanna Barbera Records.

Comedian Erica Doering of the Web series Cartoon Dump recently posted a message on A Special Thing informing fans that Joel Hodgson of Mystery Science Theater 3000 would be creating and performing a special puppet for an upcoming episode. With MST3K's Frank Conniff's Moodsy the Clinically-Depressed Owl a regular on the series, this should make Misties quite happy. Although, the Web series is different from the live show, so we'll have to wait and see of Joel's creation pops up online.
