She appeared in ONE show every year from 2000 on. I hardly call that "never stopped working" compared to "Live". That really IS slowing down considerably taking into account that almost all of those shows wrap an episode withing a seven to nine day timeframe (if not shorter) and if it's a guest role she might just have had to show up for one day or two.

I don't want to get personal but I guess I understand what she means when she says she wanted to get out of the limelight to be able to be with her dad without intereference of the big media machine or the comments from internet users like yours GigG :-)

I'm glad that Kathy Lee was invited to Regis and Kelly Show for its 20th ann.show..I hope that means that Kathy has no feelings allowing Kelly continue working as Regis's co-host... Maybe in the near future they all can work together like ABC's The View... to share the spotlight every morning?

Actually, Kathie Lee and Kelly have worked together. Kathie Lee did a guest starring role in Kelly's sitcom, Hope and Faith. I saw it and I thought it really showed off Kathie Lee as a good slapstick/comedic actress. So I don't think there are any hard feelings there.

hmmm..... Wonder what the problem is/was? Don't-cha think it's a bit weird that Kathie-Lee has never been on as a guest since she left? Could the reason be a certain man named Michael?

I can understand that reason. I quit a well paying job as a CSR at a Print Media Group to help care for my father who has Alzheimers. Although I am sure they could afford extra help -- it's just me and my mom w/occasional help from siblings -- I can understand not wanting to talk about it on television. I took a part-time job as a Secretary/Treasurer just to have a place to go where I didn't have to think or talk about what we are going through with my father.

Kathie Lee did not say that she stopped working. If you can read, she said that she left 'Live' to be with her father and she did not want the cameras in her face all the time and having to talk about her father on the show everyday. The illness and death of her father was a private matter, one that she did not wish to be publicized so that people could make rude comments or have the tabloids print things other than the truth. Protecting her family was her main concern. One should respect that.

I am very happy that she will be part of the 'Live' anniversary; She and Regis made the show what it is! She should be included. I still enjoy the show and Kelly Ripa does a fine job. I was an All my Children fan for years, so she was someone that I was familiar with. I have to say that I am not a Gelman 'fan.' I hate it when he 'coaches' or corrects Regis from the side! It is very irritating and unprofessional.

I love Kathy Lee. I miss seeing her. I loved watching her on Fox News. Would like to see more of her there.

I think Kathie Lee would be a good fit for Star's seat on The View. Although I like Sherri Sheppard I don't think that's gonna happen.

Kathie Lee would never be a good fit on The View. She's a right-wing conservative, an ill-fit with Baba Wawa and Joy Behar. That is, unless they want to even the table alongside Elizabeth, who is more right than left.

Kathie Lee had more than just her ill dad to cope with. Frank had cheated on her, and her clothing line was under fire as having used child labor.

I'd really like to see her back on Live for about six months so folks like me could recover from the Shrieking Ripa.

Stand back & watch the ratings soar when Kathie Lee appears on the Live show with Regis! She is a woman that stands up for what she believes in wherever she goes. It's hard to take a stand for yourself, but she always does & I admire that. She'll be great, but watch the media tear her appart & what's with the snide comment about her voice? She has an excellent voice. (More media comments cutting her down). Thanks for all your hard work Kathie. There always a price to pay whenever you stand up for something you believe in (like good morals, strong family, good character.) She's got it all.

The prob. w/KathyLee is she loves to "blow her own horn" instead of waiting for the viewers to do it for her. If you're good, you're good, the viewers will let you know. She doesn't wait for that, she wants the viewers to know that SHE thinks she's wonderful, and that is what makes her so (imo) annoying. The bottom line is she comes across as an arrogant, braggart. Perhaps an element of humility could resurrect her career and reputation.

i think kathie lee left regis because she felt she could be a bigger star doing something on her own. in other words she got starstruck hosting dave's show. but that did not happen.
i sure do hope that she finished remodeling whatever area in her home was being done at the time, because her monetary intake sure took a dive.
i like kathie lee but not she does her kathie "me" blabbering. it was like regis could not go on without her.
unfortunetly kelly is taking that same attitude.
regis is "the" show and i watch his show for no other reason. he is such a gentleman and now a sweetheart since he addressed some health issues years ago. i think he mellowed out because of it. same with giuliani.

i think we have all seen enough of kathie lee. i sure don't want to hear anything further about cody and cassidy! she has the biggest mouth of anyone i ever saw on tv including howard cosell!
