(S04E09) "Looks like someone found some fresh meat at the market." - Drama
Once again, another episode that didn't really have anything major going on. It was good though. It had some funny story lines and kept up with this trend of character development. We got tons this time around from Eric, Mrs. Ari, Vince, and Drama. Overall, the show is really establishing itself as more than just the story of Vince. It's broadening out in all directions, and even though I'm looking forward to the culmination of the season at Cannes, I'm looking forward to where everyone else ends up too.
Random question while I'm thinking of it... if Drama is living at Vince's new place, what happened to his condo? Or his job? He is still on Five Towns, yes?
Elsewhere, Turtle got the short end of the stick again, relegated to picking up some groceries and a minor altercation with the law that turned out to be far less funny than I think was intended. For the millionth time, why'd that story with his budding romance get dropped? The girl who's dad owned the detail shop? Bring that back. One high point? Turtle was actually listening to "Informer" by Snow. Awesome.
On to the rest of the episode. Loved the scene when Vince and Johnny were alone and had absolutely nothing to talk about. They're brothers and they have nothing in common. This needs to be explored more. Pair them off and see what happens because their lack of similar interests could lead to some great stuff. We might actually see more of this if Eric's newest client (Anna Faris) takes time away from him and Vince.
I like where this is going though. E's not involved with Lost in the Clouds and with Anna needing a new project, we might see some animosity between him and Vince by the end of the season. I like how Eric is establishing himself though. After four seasons, the characters (one at a time) are finally growing.

Um, they went off to film in Columbia for a few months and then went off to Italy afterward for another few weeks. That was enough to kill off E and Sloan who had been quite serious, so I'd think it would be enough to end Turtle and the girl he had dated maybe twice and who didn't even know his real name.

You make a valid point, Adam, from a realism perspective or whatever, but it's odd from a storytelling point of view to start introducing a relationship then drop it like it never happened. I assume there was a reason (they felt like the storyline wasn't working, or the actress got another gig or whatever), but you'd normally expect at least a line of dialogue thrown in somewhere to explain what happened.

interesting trivia- the girl who played Lori (the hot one Turtle picked up) was played by Nicole Tarantini, who appeared for one season on The Young and the Restless.

This was my first time reading your review and i really enjoyed it. I think we share the same feelings about character development and story lines that unexpectedly are getting dropped. To throw a little bit of a dialogue our way about these situations would be helpful. But overall;more great acting, more laughter, another great show!

Who was the artist/song playing at the end of the episode (the song that was sort of like 'Subterranean Homesick Blues')?

Christian, if you can wait a few hours HBO's Entourage page lists the Music Credits by Monday morning. I love the music they use on the show so I find the page to be really useful.

Thought the same Adam did. This show is about the guys being "playas". The only thing you should be asking here is whether Turtle was able to "bang that chick" ;-)

I liked that the episode set up one thing: more friction between E and Vince.

the show is doing exactly what is should and go no where. I don’t think we need progress we just need to enjoy basking in the life these boys live. It’s fun and shallow and who cares. I want their cars I want their house and I want their women. Well at least Vince and E’s women. Keep being funny and vacuous.

The show has taken a decidedly different direction this season.
I'm not saying that I dislike it, it's just different.
It would be nice to piece the shows together so that there is some continuity, however. And that is my only real complaint.
The bottom line is that it was a fun show. And it's good to see some of the characters branch out. Especially E and Mrs. Ari.

All I cared about on this episode is that Ari's wife is one hot piece of ass!

I am the opposite of some of the first few posters, I agree more with Adam and dkny. I do not like shows where every character as to get screen time, every thing has to be mentioned and wrapped up if it is mentioned. Months (and maybe months) have passed since Turtle was hitting on the body shop girl and these episodes a lot of time take place over a day or two...no way they should even try and fit everything in. Now that being said, I could actually watch an hour of day of Entourage(like dkny said, I love basking in the life they are leading).
Answers to your questions though:
1)Drama is not living at the house, he is just hanging out like always (speaking of the house, "ohhhhhhh they did not show them shopping for and buying the house...ohhhhhhh" so what) and his was E's very first time seeing the house I believe as he could not find it.
2) Yes Drama is still on Five Towns, see previous comments.

brian jonz: Thank you for posting that bit of trivia. I knew she looked familiar and thought that I vaguely remembered her from Y&R (acting badly) but wasn't sure. I went looking for this information on the HBO website, IMDB and TV.com.
Maybe I'm forgetting here, but when did Vinnie buy the new place? And yes, why isn't Johnny working? I get what Big D is saying but it still seems odd. I assumed that Johnny was visiting the new house.
I was glad to see a Mrs. Ari storyline as well as some Lloyd, brief but well done. They're my two favourite characters.
