(S08E16) So, does anyone want to go halfsies with me and purchase a life insurance policy on Amber's daughter?
Heaven forbid anything happen to her, but as much as Amber swears on her life, it's inevitable that someday her daughter will casually go walking down the street on a cloudless day and get struck by a rogue bolt of lightning - mark my words.
Seriously though, what does swearing on your child's life actually mean in the context of a game like Big Brother? I have a daughter, and I'd swear on her life 1000 times a day if it brought me closer to a $500K prize, mostly because that money would end bettering the life of the daughter I kept swearing on.
Swearing to anything - be it your dog, your child (which we've learned are the same things to Amber), or your God - as a way to back up your words is virtually worthless in a game of this nature. There's no real consequence for the swearer should they go back on their words so what's to stop them from reneging?
They also have the luxury of saying, "I only did that because this is a game. I'm not like this in the real world."
Anyhow, enough about that nonsense.
From the start of the show, Dick started working Jen and Kail in an effort to get as many people to vote Eric out as possible. He appeared to get their support then got to working on Amber.
His tactic with Amber was to bring up a conversation he had with Eric at some point in which Eric confessed to having some dirt on Amber that he'd hold in his pocket until she went on a self-righteous trip.
The dirt ended up being the fact that at some point in Amber's life, while she was on drugs, she lied to her then boyfriend about being pregnant on two occasions...
I'm guessing it played out something like this:
Amber's Boyfriend: Amber! You're psycho. I can't take all this crying all the time. Yesterday, a leaf fell off a tree and you cried for three hours. Three hours! Amber, it's Autumn. Leaves die. They do it every year. I'm done with you. I want out of this relationship.
Amber: Nooooooo! Don't leave me. I'm a nympho and, and, and, I swear on my daughters life I'm pregnant with your baby...again. For reals this time!
Amber's Boyfriend: Silence. [Looks longingly at the carbon monoxide fumes spewing from a car's tailpipe in the cool Autumn air and yearns to take a drag.]
Amber: I sweeeeaaaaaaaaar!
End Scene
Well, at least that's how it played out in my twisted little head.
As mentioned, Amber ended up swearing on her daughter's life that she would not vote for Eric, but given this new piece of information from Dick, she did not want to give Eric her vote. However, she felt guilty about swearing, and intended to keep her word to Eric.
Dick tried to make her feel less guilty by saying, "God will understand if the God you believe in is a just God and a good God. Pray about it."
Thank you Deacon Dick.
A bit later, Amber confronted Eric and absolutely lost her mind in regards to his trying to use what she told him in confidence as a tool for manipulation in the game.
Eric pretty much sat motionless during the entire episode because he honestly didn't have much to defend himself with.
Amber ended her tirade by saying something to the effect of, "I hate you. You set Nick up. You are the Devil. That felt so good thank you God!"
Question from the Viewers
Tonight we had a new segment where the audience got to ask a house guest a question. A couple of people asked Dustin "Why do you wear the same gray t-shirt day in and day out and do you own any other shirts?
Dustin says it's all about consistency. His mode of operation is staying the same all the time.
I won't be disappointed if this is the first and only time we see this segment.
Spotlight - Dick and Kail
In tonight's spotlight, we got to find out if Dick is actually friends with all the celebrities he says he knows. He ended up really having a few high profile friends including the keyboardist for Guns N 'Roses and the bass player for Alice Cooper. When Dick was doing all the name dropping, I figured he was full of crap, but it turns out I was incorrect as is too often the case.
We also got to meet Kail's husband, Darin. It's revealed that Kail owns a grocery store, a 20 room hotel, and a fine dining restaurant with a lounge.
Darin thinks that Kail not letting the house guests know that she is an astute business woman is a wise strategy. He also doesn't mind Dick yelling at her because he understands that it's just Evel's strategy.
These Thursday live eviction shows are always chock full of filler.
Eviction Ceremony
Dick votes for Eric because he thinks Eric is a weasel.
Jen votes to evict Eric (seemingly reluctantly).
Jessica decides to stick with her buddy and votes to evict Kail.
Zach stays with his promise to Dick and Daniele and votes to get rid of Eric.
Jameka votes to evict Kail because it was ordained by the man upstairs.
Dustin unexpectedly voted to evict Kail. (Is this the consistency you're talking about Dustin?)
Amber voted to keep her daughter alive and healthy and chose to evict Kail.
Based on the way the episode was edited I completely didn't see it coming. By a vote of 4-3 Eric stayed in the Big Brother house. Dick's pained expression was spectacular.
Right before Kail went outside for her exit interview you could just make out Dick confronting Dustin about who he voted for. Dustin said that he voted for Eric, but we all saw him vote to evict Kail. This mystery vote will end up being a huge point of contention next episode.
Head of Household Competition - Let's Make a Duel
The HoH pitted two contestants against one another in an effort to detemine which evicted house guests said a certain phrase. If they answered incorrectly, they were eliminated. The last person standing would win HoH.
- Dustin and Eric - "Which evicted house guest confessed, "there was a situation that was brewing and I added some pepper ad some salt." Eric guessed Joe. Dustin sat down.
- Dick and Zach - Which evicted house guest said, "I was hoping that the other house guests would see that I was going to be an honest player. Mission accomplished." Zach guessed Carol and was wrong. Answer was Mike.
- Eric and Jessica - Which evicted house guest revealed, "one of my main strategies going into this house with the females was that I was going to flirt with them?"
- Alternate Question: Which evicted house guest did not want to tell the house that they were a multi-business owner. Jessica guessed Kail and eliminated Eric.
- Jen and Dick - Which evicted house guest admitted, "the beds are about 5'5" and I figured it would hinder my chances if I was looking to invite a girl back to my bed." Dick guessed Mike incorrectly. Answer was Nick.
- Jessica and Amber - Which evicted house guest stated, 'I'm not one of those weepy sad rainclouds that sits around and brings everyone down." Amber guessed Carol. Answer was Joe.
- Which evicted house guest said, "I gave up way too much..." Jessica guessed Carol and was correct. Jessica is the new HoH and Eric was elated.

There was a huge power shift in the house tonight and Dick and Daniele and possibly Jen and Zach will be pitted up against Jessica, Dustin, Jameka, Amber, and a bloodthirsty Eric in the coming weeks.
As the credits closed you could see Dick butting heads with Jameka, someone he hasn't seemed to have any real beef with up until this point. It looks like Mr. Cool and Collected is starting to get a little nervous.
Sunday is going to be very interesting to say the least.

I'm really split on this outcome. Eric has made some bad, telling mistakes. I believe that he is sorry for the things he said about Amber. Having said that, I find it hard to summon any sympathy for Amber, given her anti-semitic ramblings the other day. The lies he's told have mostly been game related (again, notwithstanding those related to Amber), and therefore excusable. Then again, I find him to be, at times, beyond reasonable scheming.
When it comes to Dick, I'm further torn. I really enjoy watching him play the game when he's calm, reserved and well spoken. His ability to manipulate the players around him with cunning tact, and articulate language is impressive. But his rage filled tyrants railing against the other house-guests are becoming more and more tiring. He really has dug his own grave by running through his peers and using intimidation more often than tact. Either way, I'd be sad to see him go. He does add an entertainment value to the show that the others lack.
The last two players I really like without much reservation, would be Jessica and Jen (in that order).
Once again, a great play-by-play TV Squad.

I see all these votes for Dick to go before Amber. You've got to be kidding. Amber needs to go. Will she go this week? Not likely. But it sure would be nice.

The "Hollywood" segment was just another example of the producers' love for Dick.
It may be true that some rock musicians know Dick personally (or at least know who he is), but none of the people they showed were the big names Dick has been dropping in the house. And the whole thing was obviously set up by the show, from the sad "concert" with about six people in the audience to the stuff with his name on it. (One of the "groupies" was wearing a shirt that said something like "Evel Jenious." Are we supposed to believe she thought of that herself?) We all know the producers think Dick is the most dynamic person in the house, and it's clear that they'll do anything they can to make him seem like a decent guy rather than an abusive piece of sh**.
Julie's little mistake in the HOH competition may have had a huge effect on the game as a whole. Eric was about to get the question right (it was the simplest one she asked), and since he had been doing well up till then, there's a good chance he would have won HOH. But now we'll never know....
The contestant likeability factor is still pretty low. But Jen is getting back in our good graces just by being who she is. And Jameka and Dustin get credit for standing up for themselves. (Actually, Jameka gets extra credit for the outfit she was wearing. Who knew?)

They should take out Daniele this week since that will cause Dick to self-destruct the following week. They have to break them up though this week no matter who goes.

I am still in the same place - I could care less which one of these people win. If I was forced to pick I would probably say Jessica but only becuase she is the least likely to win and I like underdogs.
Dicks concert is a way for BB producers to get people liking Dick so that he gets better votes through the polls and AP options.
Watching BBAD after the show, it looks like Amber and Eric seem ok. Maybe its fake but some sort of reconciliation happened and I can only guess Dustin talked her off the ledge. And one other point - she outed herself on national TV. Eric was just talking to Dick at a level that he would understand which does make Eric look bad but she dug her own grave.
Hero of the week (Episode) - Jameka who stood up to Dick when he started yet another irrational rant fest! God is watching and laughing ;-)~

I think the fans should rise up and picket the CBS studios for screwing us over and lying to us. They told Dustin, Jameka, Amber, Jen, and Jessica to keep AIR-ICK. From my understanding, they were basically bullied into it. My guess would be they would not receive their stipend if they didn't vote 'correctly'. Amber may have made some anti semitic comments, which in itself are bad, but has anyone on any other reality show said such disgusting, cruel, evil things as Eric has? Tonight he made the comment 'any funeral homes in the L.A area have a 2 for 1 special? I know a father and daughter that will be needing that.' He has made death threats, said they have an incest alliance, made many of his own ethnic slurs, swears more than Evel Dick hands down, and I am completely sick of this so called human being. He does not represent America in the slightest!!! I think America should evict him!

Jeff N. Thank You, I voted for Amber too...like c'mon ppl, Dick is the life of this show, plain and simple, without him its just crying and complaining...at least now we get crying, complaining, and...YELLING.
I must say I really don't care for too many of these people. I thought they might grow on me, but they're all so mean-spirited...but the one that has surprised me the most, and for whom i now have a grudging respect for...is Jen...this chick is tough, I'd say this year's Janelle...although no one really compares to Janelle...
I hope she wins, just so Will & Boogie can cram it in everyone's faces that their protege won the game...even though she'd only get 250k now...
Dustin, Amber, Jameka, and even Eric need to go, these people are just...ugh, stupid and hypocritical, and a waste of film...and for Amber specifically, a waste of tissues.......
If Dick goes this week, this show hits its death knell, like when the Nerd Herd was picking off the Sovereigns...what a sad time that was....and I think its about to be repeated....

RedStar.....is Jen really Will and Boogie's protege?? How do you know this? However you do, I think it's totally COOL and appropriate somehow. I too have come around to respecting Jen...not to mention she's one of the few people left that don't make me want to WRETCH whenever they open their mouths!lol She's now kind of an island of sanity in a sea of raving lunatics!! And if Dick and Danielle go..may be our only oasis...but GOD help her if that happens!! If he isn't too busy haning out with Amber and Jameka that is..lol

After reading some recounts of the live feeds, it was noted that the Diary Room may have tried to persuade Jen to keep Eric, which would explain her hesitation during the live vote. The conspiracy to set Eric up with the banner plane then keep him sounds more plausible every moment.
I think Dick's methods have gone too far, but on the live feeds, he actually did bring Jameka and (no shock) Amber down to his level and really make Jameka look bad. However, because she has tons of good will build up and he has none, it will go virtually unnoticed by the rest of the house, not like if she had acted that way to Jessica, then it would've been shocking and she would've been called on it. I think Dick busted her by saving Jen because God make her ball come up for POV but then waffling when God made her ball come up for Kail this week. Once again though, because it was Evel, people won't take as much note.

I don't think the America's Player concept is viable. You can't have someone sneaking around squiriting mustard on people's clothes and making inconsistent votes in a house where all the inhabitants have excessive amounts of time to sit around and debate who the responsible party is. Eric has been a little too gleeful in some of these stupid assignments that are more like elementary school slumber party tricks that add little to the show and actually create almost zero minutes of watchable TV. Sleepwalking into Joe's bed? That sparked two minutes of conversation and was stupid. Eric should dump the wierd assignments in the interest of staying in the game and they should dump the concept entirely. He may not be a bad player without the nonsense of stupid tasks America would think it would be funny to watch.
As for Dick, he is a bully. Isn't is quaint how hard he tries to control himself when Danielle is riding him? He blows at EVERYONE and has such poor self control of his mouth and his actions to dump beverages on people's heads (this is the oldest among our houseguests?) but his daughter can be laying into him and he can maintain his composure and say nothing hurtful? That my friends is the truest commentary on their relationship. I suspect Dick was a dick with Danielle enough times with his in your face version of reality and she told him to **** off.
Finally, Chenbot......Priceless.

Good Lord these people!!! Let me just say this Eric=Weasel!! Dick is right and all these people are going to feel like the jackasses they are when his true colors come to light..Face it,love them or hate them, without Dick or Jen there is no show! The others are as boring and lifeless as the slop they're forced to consume! The producers control this game, not the players and the editing is horrible..Evel and Jen all the way!

Thank You Chrissie.
Dick might be abrasive, as I've always said, but he's basically the most honest, non-hypocritical person in the house.
They showed Dustin "promise" Amber that he would vote out Eric...they DIDN'T show Dustin "promise" Dick and Daniele that he would vote out Eric...but he did
They ALSO DIDN'T show the scene where Amber said "If Eric stays in this house, I'm DONE with this GROUP"...well, Eric stayed in the house, and Amber is STILL with her group....hmm...wonder why.
Why do people have such vitriolic hatred for a person because he yells and drops names that he actually probably does know...(he was in Pirates of the Caribbean, don't forget, too)...when there are people in the show that backstab their own friends, and are total hypocrites?
If Dick weren't there, this show would be boring...everyone would sit around sunning themselves, while zach did perverted things with m&m's, and everyone would lie and backstab one another for no reason...just like Dustin and Eric do.
Then again, those that like Dustin and Eric dont watch the Live Feeds so you believe everything you see....and trust me, they get the BEST edits in the house....hands down

Sooooo right Mike!! Eric is a a**hole..He says the most disgusting and vile things about everyone in that house including his so called "friends"..He does NOT represent me as Americas player that is for damn sure! If we were all smart we would start voting for him to start turning on his buddies so his "game" is exposed! CBS will never let that happen though cause then they'd lose they're .99 votes!!

The only thing of real interest from the "America's Player" idea is the impact of a random vote. The random vote has caused the paranoia factor to soar. Next year they should drop America's Player and instead randomly change one vote.

I love people attacking Eric for making the same strategical moves as Dick with the cursing and trash talking, yet they praise Dick as the life of the show for doing the same shit.
Eric hasn't belittled women the way Dick does, hasn't harassed and bullied the way Dick does, and while I agree Dick is entertaining to watch, he's also the biggest dick in the house and stopped playing strategically and startd playing emotionally a long time ago. Danielle was foolish to hitch her wagon to her father from day one and could have avoided the mess and drama by steering clear of him. Instead, I'll be happy to see her go.
Don't worry folks, Amber will be gone soon enough. If you truly want her gone, you need Eric in the house. He's the guy that will sway Jameeka and perhaps Dustin to vote her out. No way she's winning the competition.
Honestly, it looks like we'll get "God is Gangsta" Jameeka heads up with Jessica when all is said and done.

I'd have to side with #15 Justin.
And to post #6 - Patti. If you think Eric joking about coffins as a metaphor for D&D leaving the game is a death threat, then Dicks "I'll ****ing kill you ****ers" is nothing less then a claim of genocide.
I think what has happened is people had really come to like Dick, myself included. And by that association, came aboard with this railing against Eric.
Do we all so quickly forget what happened in season 6, with the Eric blaming everything on Michael in Week 2? I feel a similar thing has happened here. The fast, angry, emotion train that defined the anti-Eric sentiment is only so strong because of the ridiculous momentum it carried through Dick's over-the-top illustration of Eric's actions. Of which, he's been partly falsely accused. While Danielle had come to the proper _conclusions_, her interpretation of motivations were entirely wrong. And it was those motivations that Dick so strongly reacted to, not necessarily the outcomes.
As I said in post #1, I'm entirely split on Eric and Dick. Both have made incredible plays in this game, especially when it comes to down-to-earth, calm, strategic conversations with the goal of manipulation. And they both have made mistakes when it comes to revealing information, and incredulous accusations & presentations.
Perhaps the same step back from the emotional game that Dick should take, would be a good reflection for his supporters.

Where the hell are the men in this house!..during the afterdark show while ED was calling Amber and Jameeka every vile, disgusting name in the book, all the guys were noticably absent (what a joke) and then afterwards proclaim" If I would have heard or known what was going on, I would have stepped in" I would like to see if ED wins POV, if he really would save his daughter. This new alliance with Jameeka, Amber, Jess, Eric and Dustin was in seventh heaven last night,.wait until they have to start turning on each other..then we will see how strong this so called bond is. TV Squad..wonderful job as usual !!

Brandon, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. In truth, Eric says shit behind curtains and closed doors...about father/daughter incest...and other such horrific perverted things because his "friends", namely dustin, eat it up and laugh at it. That's what Eric does. Does Dick talk about people having sex with their daughters, or dogs, or cats, or donkey's or whatever? no. why would he? But Eric does it because he has some hatred towards people....but that hatred can be directed at anyone, at any time. Dick lashes out...true, but only when he feels there is a liar, hypocrite, or other injustice taking place.
To be fair, Dick, as I've said, is an asshole. I don't argue otherwise. Eric is as well. The difference is that Dick sticks to what he says, and owns up to what he does. Eric doesn't/can't because of AP, and I get that, but Eric isn't entertaining either. Unless you count a guy sitting in a jacuzzi with nipple piercings talking about how two of his housemates who are father and daughter have sex with one another entertaining.
My support has been, and will be, for Zach, as we are both FSU alums. But if Zach aligns himself with Dustin and Eric, I'll quickly put it to Jen. The truth of the matter is that from a strategic standpoint, Brandon, Eric should have been voted out. Kail couldnt get HOH, she couldn't do anything but be a vote. Eric consistently gets people to do what he wants...and I like this about him, but as a house, to not realize the biggest threat is Eric, they are all stupid.
Finally, on Amber, she comes across looking horrible, after saying she was done with Dustin if he didnt vote Eric out, she's still with Dustin, who lied to her, broke his promise to her, Dick and Dani...and you actually want these people to win?

I agree with your comments Redstarrevoultion. If Dick goes before Amber, Jessica, Eric and company the show becomes less interesting. And Amber has to go down as one of the most annoying houseguests of all time. Not to mention a bad player of Big Brother. And yes, I too have gained respect of late for jen and was so hoping she was going to get HOH their at the end. The show is close to losing me as their are so few to root for if any.
