Have you ever wondered what it would be like if American Idol's Katharine McPhee decided to give up her dreams of stardom and just settle into weather reporting?
Of course you haven't, but that's what happened at a St. Louis news station when McPhee, before her interview, decided to jump into the middle of the weather report to give the weatherman a hard time for being a Taylor Hicks fan, and to try her hand at reporting the weather. It turns out it's not that easy: you have to know where to point, and you have to ad lib.
She also does the traffic report. Best line: "Do you have traffic in St. Louis?"
This naturally leads me to the conclusion that someone should create a new reality competition to find the next weatherperson. I'm going to call the Weather Channel and tell them to start working on that. As part of the elimination round, contestants will have to stand outside during a hurricane without falling down or dropping their microphone.
Actually, that hurricane idea should also be used on American Idol, too.
Check out the video below.

Actually not a bad idea for a reality show. I bet they could find some small market station (heck, these days, a large market station) who'd be willing to let them send a parade of amateurs through. Make them deal with the heat in AZ, the cold in Alaska, some rain in Seattle, and some humidity along the Gulf...

C'mon, everybody knows the weather and traffic already. More hot girls standing around is a great improvement.
