(S08E15) I'm done with Dick Denato. I used to find his abrasive manner to be appealing because he brought a refreshing level of truthfulness and candor to a reality television show dependent on acts of lies and deception. It was a bold strategy that I respected and it really seemed to be working for him.
Unfortunately, after his actions in the last few episodes, I've finally come to realize that the way Dick is playing Big Brother isn't some well conceived strategy. Simply put, Dick is an asshole. It's the only way he knows how to be it's the only attribute he knows how to emote.
If he was in a role-playing game he wouldn't gain "experience," "intelligence", "strength," or "agility" points. He would only gain "asshole" points and he'd be a level 1 Billion.
I think it was completely disingenuous of him to call a truce with Jen (and seemingly with Kail). It's absolutely self-serving and terribly hypocritical considering the horrendous things he's said and done to the pair of them.
He's been lashing out against the both of them regarding their only doing things in their best interest, yet he ended up doing the exact same thing when it suited his needs.
He struts around like he's upfront with everyone and that their are no secrets, but he creeps around the house and conspires just like the rest of the contestants. He just thinks he is so much better than everyone and it's really starting to drain on me.
I cannot wait until Dick leaves the game. That's all the time I'll devote to that in tonight's reviewcap.
Power of Veto Competition - The Numbers Don't Lie
Daniele pulled Zach's ball, Jen pulled Dustin, and Kail selected Jameka to participate in the PoV tonight. Daneile also picked the human Weeping Willow to be the judge.
Tonight's challenge did not seem like much fun for the contestants. Behind a board there were six tasks, most of which were things a house guest wouldn't want to do. The person who bid the highest number as it related to the task had to complete the task but got to stay in the game, while the person who bid the lowest was eliminated .
It played out like this:
- Show me the Bunny - Over the next five days how many hours are you willing to spend in a bunny suit?
- Dump the Funk - Over the next 24 hours how many times are you willing to have a funky mixture dumped over your head? [Note: The mixture looked like a combination of fecal matter and Amber's tears (they had to something with all of them). Not an appealing concoction by a long ways.]
- $10,000 Cash - The person who writes down the highest number from $1 to $10,000 wins the money they write down - however they are eliminated.
- Sloppy Summer - Over the next 30 days, how many hours are you willing to eat nothing but slop?
- Power Shortage - Out of the next 5 HoH competitions how many are you willing to not participate in?
- Money walks. The Big Brother grand prize is $500K How much of the prize money up to $250K would you be willing to give up to win the Power of Veto?
Jen put up the full $250K citing the fact that she's at the house for the experience and not for the money, and ultimately won the Power of Veto.
With the exception of Jen who actually had something to show for it, everyone who stayed in the PoV competition for any length of time was royally screwed. The things they have to give up or do - namely missing out on 5 HoH competitions, could be a huge hindrance to their further advancement in the game.

Case in point, Jameka had a major meltdown immediately after the competition where she had a heartfelt, but admittedly strange conversation with God.
This led to a comical sequence where the always fashion conscious Jen barges into the scene and says, "Uh, can we we get white belts in here?"

Then she said, "Now I'll hide the eggs." You've got to love Jen.
As mentioned Dick offered a truce to Jen so long as she promised to be nicer to Daniele.
While it's obviously a case of Daniele and Dick needing an ally in the house as the stakes get bigger, Jen seems eager to join their alliance since she's pretty much been a lone wolf the entire game.
She also states that, "Strategically it will be good to work with Dick and Daniele, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to do it morally."
The Player America Keeps Screwing Over
Tonight, America got to choose who Eric would promise to take to the final two. America wisely selected Jessica which Eric seemed relieved about.
Next, America will vote on which house guest Eric should flatter incessantly in order to ensure his safety in the house.
Judging by the poll a few posts back a majority of you seem to like Dick, but think he needs to tone things down a bit. I'm sad to report, he failed to comply.

Dick absolutely went off on Eric in the courtyard tonight while his shocked alliance looked on in the background. The lashing was so bad it prompted Dustin to ask Daniele if she had considered putting Dick up on the block when and if Jen took herself off.
Daniele all but scoffed at the suggestion and seemed repulsed that Dustin had the audacity to even contemplate the idea.
She is under the delusion that the house guests are able to separate the actions of her father from her actions and she is sadly mistaken. In the coming weeks she's going to be forced to sever the ties with her father much like she was forced to sever her relationship with Nick. If she fails to do this, I guarantee she's going to find herself giving an exit interview to the Chenbot.
Power of Veto Ceremony
Jen took herself off the block and Daniele put Eric on the block in memory of Nick.
Thursday we'll find out if Kail or Eric is going home.

First off, the scene with Jameka crying had me laughing my ass off, not only because of the juxtaposition of Jen making jokes while it's going on behind her, but because the producers again added the holy music behind it. Much like the "Dick goes on a rampage" theme, it just cracks me up when they kind of wink at the audience like that.
Speaking of Dick, what made me finally turn completely against him was when he basically went against what his self-proclaimed game plan was and started outright lying. He told Jessica that Jen had come to him and confessed that Eric was in an alliance with her and Kail which first, Jen never did, and second, isn't even true even if she had. His whole thing was "I'm going to be honest and upfront and tell it like it is", but he's now just degenerated to working with his daughter to come up with conspiracy theories and lying to the other houseguests like every other player has done throughout the history of the game.
Finally, are there any theories to what will happen should Eric be evicted? Will they reveal to the houseguests what happened, or is America going to vote on who their new player should be and will the torch just be passed in secret? Also, is Eric explicitly forbidden to tell the other houseguests he is America's player? I would think that having a small group knowing that the outside world can communicate to someone in the house would give them a serious advantage and confessing to them would definitely explain his actions and save his ass.

I was over Dick like two weeks ago. His ass needs to go home. I hope Dustin, Amber, Jessica, and Jameka stay strong and save Eric. Then one of them win HoH and put him and his delusional daughter home.
Down with the Donatos!

Jameka praying while Jen talked about her bunny suit was possibly the funniest thing I'd ever seen on BB. The way the cameras caught that whole scene was perfect. And the addition of the holy music was the icing on the cake. The producers of the show definitely know what they're doing.
I, too, liked Evel in the beginning. Now he just needs to go. I'm tired of his ranting.

Dick is just pissed that he is an original member of the LNC and now that a banner associated that crew with the Nerd Herd, he is seen as a nerd by America. He's lashing out at Eric because he is smarter and a better player than Dick. Hopefully Jen will follow her "moral" conscience and not align with the Donatos to keep Kail in the house helping Eric will survive this week but I don't see him lasting longer than 2 or 3 weeks.

Are you kidding me? I love Evel Dick, if you liked him before, how can you not like him now? Is he being too mean? Get over it, it's a game. He calls it like he sees it and he's not afraid to get in someone's face in front of other house guest. He's not always an ass****, he even apologized to Jen this week, even though he had a reason to. At least he's not the kind of person that can't admit their mistakes.
I hope Eric goes home this week. Not only is the America's Player thing getting really old, but Eric is the real ass**** in the BB house. How can the people on his side in the house not see that he is the one that needs to go? What's the matter, do you need it spelt out in the sky for you... oh wait that already happened, and they still trust Eric. -_-
I didn't like Jen at first, but now she's one of my favorite. She is a very smart player, and very good at acting clueless but she knows what's going on and she knows how to play the game. Her "I'm going to go hide the eggs" comment wearing the bunny suit was spot on. I hope she stays in the house for quite some time. I also hope Dick and Daniele continue as well.
Eric needs to go, and after that Dustin. Jameka and Amber are pretty much the two I consider to be "floaters" this season. Jessica could be the Erika of this season, flying just above the radar to not be a floater, but just below it to not get a lot of attention. She may end up getting quite far in the game.
Without Evel Dick and Jen the show would become a mix of watching Amber cry and Jameka praying to God, and who wants to watch that for an hour?

So when ED keeps yelling at Eric that he was the one that wanted Nick out, why doesn't Eric point out that he campaigned to get Kail out last week (thanks to the America's Player vote)? Nobody listened to him, but he tried to save Nick, and now he's being attacked for being the one who wanted Nick out.

To all of you Evel-bashers, especially those who say they lilked him in the beginning, but can't stand him anymore, shame on you.
Your opinion is your own, and I respect that, but you have to realize that the action and flavor he is bringing to this season of Big Brother is guaranteeing him a spot in the next Big Brother All Stars, whether he wins or loses.
It is true that he started with an in-your-face, keeping-it-real, tell-the-truth attitude, but at some point you have to tell lies in this game to ensure your safety. Everyone here who has complained about his sudden turn to the dark side of lying about the other players, also mention that he is doing the same as every other player in Big Brother history. Guess what? There is a reason every contestant plays that way, it is called strategy. All Dick has done is revealed that his "tell the truth" shtick has been a lie the whole time, and one can argue that he has not changed his spots, just revealed them.

I like that ED keeps everyone on edge. Some of his yelling gets old, but it is funny that he is so sure that he is right and he really doesn't know what he is talking about.
I also don't get the "morality" and "character" conversations regarding this game. It IS a game. Do whatever you have to do. Why not? Pretend to be upfront and lie like everyone else -- great! If they believe you and it works, more power to you. They ALL lie at some point. Why should they admit to it?
I just think more of them need to yell back at Dick. They LET him get away with it because they don't stand up to him. They shake and hesitate (like Eric did - although at least he fought back some). Someone needs to say to him, "You THINK you have it all figured out, but I know something you don't. You are going to look the fool." Dick doesn't want to look foolish in that "you got someone over on me way." He loves looking foolish with his outrageous behavior and I think he does it on pupose. It may come easy to him, but he knows what he is doing. How can you want him gone? I'd snore through the show without him.

Eric will be voted out....Dustin will provide the final vote to get rid of him....This is the worst of the big brothers I have seen...no one really seems to be in the game, just trying to hang on...

Big Brother has sunk to a real low to demand half the prize money back in order to win the POV competition. You agreed to pay $500,000 and you should stick to that. At the very least, if Jen wins, she should be able to decide to give the $250,000 to the charity of her choice. Is this some new way to cut costs for the show? Totally unfair to contestants. You should be upfront at the start that you may reduce prize amount. We are rooting for Jen and think she adds a lot of fun to the show.

Jameka praying?
I am not an avid watcher of the show but that was some of the worst reality TV ever -- why would they even show that on TV? From what I could gather she was crying then went to praying because she had just gave up 5 HOH contests?
Without getting on a religious sermon here I find it hard to believe that someone whom says they are religious would kneel down to pray on national TV over a reality game. With all the problems in the world for you to pray to God about I don't understand this from Jameka, and I think it was ridiculous CBS would show this unless they were wanting to make her look dumb.

Lies are part of the game. I'm good with people lying in this game. All of them are hypocrites. So my annoyance at Dick is not because of that.
Look, I was one of those people who enjoyed Dick's upfront brash nature to spice up the house earlier on in the season, but since then he has shown that he just cannot LET THINGS GO.
And if he starts not liking you then you immediately become one of his mortal enemies, or at least that's how he starts treating you. And even after lashing out on you a couple of times, he STILL would lash out WITHOUT PROVOCATION. That's just a bully plain and simple. And I hate bullies.

ED is the best thing to happen to this show in a long time. People say it was Kaysar... he was a joke and a weak player. ED at least thinks things through and figured Eric out. Yes, his yelling gets old at times, but he's one of the smartest people in there right now.
As for making peace with Jen... so what? Alliances in this game shift all the time. Jen/ED/Dani teaming up was one of the best ideas yet.

I think its remarkable that Jameka would give up so much to save Eric. He looked like he was mad that she didn't give up $250,000 to save his weasly ass.

I like Dick. I like Daniele. And, as predicted last week, Dick, Dani, Jen, Zach, and Kail would make a better, smarter alliance...at least for now.
The truth is that Dick is a jerk, but he says what he thinks, he is an ass to get into people's heads, or when he feels wronged. I don't mind this. I salute it in fact. Editing is horrible. Dustin and Eric are vile, but we don't see that on the show. Amber backstabs everyone, and Jameka is the only person who sticks to her word.

Jameka has to be the dumbest player in Big Brother. I think enough has been said about her and the prayer segment. I will leave that along. Eric hasn't given any reason for Jameka to show loyalty to him. As if we need any more reason, but her playing strategy is a microcosm of the way we, African Americans, play the game of life.

Dick is not "EVIL" he is just a simple asshole.
Besides his constant rage and manipulation of his strange daughter and others, the thing that bothers me the most is his disgusting SPITTING! Doesn't he realize that others have to walk on that lawn - sometimes in their bare feet? Oh that's right assholes don't care about others. And doesn't anyone else see that he does that and call him on it? YUCK!
I hope that he departs soon with lots of fanfare and much of the criticism he dishes out to everyone else!

Thank you, thank you Mary..I thought I was the only one who is repulsed by the spitting that goes on back there..nasty. ED is a foulmouthed, asshole jerk,..but he does bring something to the show. He completely took over the HOH position from his pea brained daughter whose only concern was who voted Nick out. At this point, I really dont care who gets voted out since this has to be the dullest group ever. Unfortunately, Eric will draw the short straw this week and get the boot. I hope he is compensated in someway from Big Brother, since being tossed out has a lot to do with being "Americas Player" and he could not play his own game.

Leave Dick alone. I respect people who say what others are thinking as he pointed out. He doesn't let go sometimes, but part of his personality! That show would be boring without him. Thank about that......
