Good news, Highlander-heads! According to the Adrian Paul Newswire a new Highlander movie is coming to the Sci-Fi Channel in September. Named Highlander: The Source, it will feature the return of actor Adrian Paul as the immortal Duncan Macleod.
In this movie, the 5th since the original Highlander franchise began in 1986, Duncan goes on a quest with a number of immortal and mortal friends to find the origin of the first immortal and The Source of immortality. It seems to be set in the future because, as the plot summary says, we find Macleod roaming a crumbling city as the world falls into chaos. Then again, he could be walking the streets of Camden, New Jersey for all we know.
Highlander: The Source will premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel on September 15th at 9 pm, and be re-broadcast on September 20th at the same time.

I hope it's more like the TV show than the theatrical movies, because the TV version had a much more coherent plot line.
And let's also hope that Adrian Paul doesn't look much older after all this time.

I've seen the rough release of this and I'm hoping it got a lot of help before being sent to scifi! I am a big fan of the series and this movie didn't do much for me.

so... I guess this means it was too craptastic for lionsgate to release in theaters?

I have seen this. I'm not sure if it was a preview version or a working copy or whatnot, but it's gut-wrenching. I can honestly say I enjoyed Highlander 2 more than this one!
Bad acting.. bad soundtrack.... horrid plot.
Wasn't even laughable!

Im a HUGE Highlander fan and I was able to see this movie via bittorrent.... it is one of the worst movies ever made...simply horrible and the ending was super weak. I actually wish it would never be seen by the public, totally ruins the franchise...yes..its that bad.

"Good news, Highlander-heads!"
This movie was originally to be in theaters. Then it was going straight to DVD. Now it will run on Sci-Fi BEFORE it's released to DVD.
This is not good news. I find it hard to believe that this could be worst that Highlander 2, but it seems to be heading that way. (The plot kinda sounds like an anime highlander I saw pieces of recently on cable. It was really bad as well..)

"In this movie, the 5th since the original Highlander series ended in 1998..."
Actually, the first two movies came out before the series began.

I was incorrect. This is the fifth movie since the franchise began in 1986. I have made the correction.
