Big Brother 8: Live Eviction #4 and HoH Competition #5

Dick as Deniro in Taxi Driver

(S08E13) I'm disappointed that Nick was evicted from the Big Brother house tonight.

I was really hoping he'd stick around a while longer so we could witness his imminent transformation into Robert Deniro's character in Taxi Driver.

He only made it as far as the mohawk, but given enough time, I could have totally seen him plummeting out of control thanks to a growing contempt for the corrupt lowlifes residing in the Big Brother dwellings with him.

Couple that with his utter inability to take his relationship with Daniele to a higher plain, and it's easy to see that Nick was on a downward spiral that probably would have concluded with him massacring everyone in the house while they slept.

And more than likely he would have started with Jen.

I may have read things incorrectly, but I was positive Nick's relationship with Jen was on the mend ever since their embarrassing fall-out earlier in the season regarding Jen lying about Nick making a move on her.

Apparently, I was wrong because Nick absolutely let loose on Jen tonight and gave her a thorough chewing complete with threatening looks, spittle, and bleeps galore.

The sequence leading up to this blowout was edited really strangely, and I couldn't determine the direct catalyst for the eruption - but best I can tell, it stemmed from a comment Jen made to Daniele about a lack of integrity in Daniele's relationship with her boyfriend (i.e. Daniele having crossed the line physically with Nick at some point).

Nick and Jen's argument took place only seconds after an equally dramatic confrontation between Daniele and Jen which ended with Dick pouring a cup of tea all over Jen's head.

Dick pours tea on Jen's head.
Even if Jen deserved it, I think Evel crossed the line with the tea thing. In addition, some of the things he's said to Kail and Jen lately have been absolutely rancid and just inappropriate on so many levels. I'm getting to the point where I don't care if he's on the show any longer. It was fun watching him stir the pot for a while, but I've had my fill. Someone please put this sadist on the block and follow through with kicking him out. The house will be a much happier place without him.

Anyhow, Nick's biggest faux pas, even larger than conducting an open relationship with another house guest, was his failing to pull a Dick and confront the entire house regarding who truly cast the second vote for Kail a few weeks back.

The second Daniele mentioned this was a point of contention with the house guests, he should have called a meeting and threatened to go absolutely ballistic if the true vote caster didn't step forward and clear his tarnished name.

Sure, it probably wouldn't have resulted in much since I could see Eric holding that secret 'til his death, but it'd have been better than Nick rolling over and playing the laissez faire card, which is pretty much what he did.

I never understand why someone would go through all the trouble of putting their life on hold to partake in a reality show, but not fight tooth and nail to stay in it. What a colossal waste of time.

I have to apologize because I got a little riled up and did this reviewcap backwards since I already revealed who was evicted and mentioned some of the events that occurred prior to the eviction.

Let's take a look at how the voting played out and then quickly touch on some other happenings during the night.

Eviction Ceremony

Prior to the ceremony Kail gave her usual nonsensical speech about being happy to have such good friends in the house and hoping to maintain their relationship post Big Brother. As if any of these people have any interest in keeping in contact with this nutjob. She's delusional.

Nick knew he was going home tonight and pretty much gave Daniele a soliloquy about his undying affection and happiness that the two of them were able to spend time with one another. I want to make fun of this badly, but I can't bring myself to do it because it seemed pretty sincere.

The votes went down like this:

Jen voted for Nick because she hates him.
Zach voted for Kail because he's actually pretty loyal.
Jameka voted for Nick because it served her better this week.
Eric voted for Kail because he is America's slave.
Jessica voted for Nick because her alliance pressured her into it.
Amber voted for Nick even though she acted like she'd be devastated that he might be leaving. She's actually crying while hugging Nick's leg in the screencap below. What a hypocrite.

Amber doing what she does best.
Dick voted to evict Nick regrettably.
Daniele voted to evict Nick remorsefully.

By a vote of 6 to 2 Travis Bickle was removed from the Big Brother house.

America's Player

Eric wanted to vote for Nick but ended up campaigning for Kail due to America's edict. As usual, he had very little success swaying the voting direction of the house.

Tonight, America is voting on who Eric should campaign to get evicted next week. Looking at the picture below, I wish America was voting on how quickly we could get Eric on a high calorie, weight-gain diet. I bet he's tired of having to shop exclusively at Gap Kids all these years.

Eric is skinny.

Head of Household Competition - Times Up

Tonight's competition was called Times Up. Contestants had to dangle from a human-sized bird perch as it swung back and forth.

At first, the contestants got to sit on the perch, but Julie eventually made them hang upside down right before saying, "There are some birds above you and they just had dinner."

At this point a veritable deluge of an unidentifiable white substance rained from the sky. It was an obscene amount actually and it started to coat the bodies of the dangling players.

It looked less like these birds just ate dinner and more like they just ate a box of super strength laxatives. Nasty.

Kail hangs from the HoH perch.

Strangely, tonight we didn't get to see the results of the HoH competition. Looks like us cable watchers will have to wait until Sunday to see who will be in power.

If you can't wait until then, be sure to check out Jackie Schnoop's spoiler filled recaps of the livefeeds.

How do you feel about Evel Dick?
