Anchorwoman, the upcoming comedy/reality series from FOX that takes place at an actual news station in Tyler, Texas, will debut on Wednesday, August 22 rather than August 21 (as previously reported). It will still air at 8:00 p.m., though, kicking off with a one-hour premiere before settling into its normal half hour on Wednesday nights.
The series stars Lauren Jones of the WWE as a former swimsuit model from New York Coty who tries her hand at local news reporting in the Texas town. Jones is brought in by a desperate station manager who hopes her good looks will boost the ratings for his station. The series takes place in the actual KYTX-TV studios, a CBS affiliate. Some of the folks who work in the news station will appear on the series, too, though all the main characters will be played by actors.
Some of the citizens of Tyler are concerned about how their town will be portrayed, and until the series airs there's no way to know. I must say I am curious enough to check the show out at least once to see how all of this is going to come together.

Just because a show is shot at a real news station and they let some of the stations real staff act as extras doesn't make it a reality show. If they shot ER at a real hospital and hired staff to be extras would you call ER a reality show?
Is the desperate station manager really the station manager or even work for KYTX? If not it is a sitcom that just happens to be shot at a real TV station.

Yes, that is the real station manager. And you might be disappointed to learn that Lauren had to write some of her own stuff, just like a real journalist. The show claims to be a hybrid reality show. Get your facts right.
