Typical mainstream reaction to the pickup artists: mock them, say they're off base, etc., and further twist the knife into every nice guy who gets rejected for some lying player.

The rough equivalent would be if women complained to a guy about rape, he mocked them, went out and raped a woman, and said "yeah, it's awful men do that."

Does the best man win or not? Appaerntly not. And when he doesn't win, he better not complain, because his complaints will fall on deaf ears. He then realizes that exploiting female stupidity to get laid is easier than educating the same females on their mistakes, so another nice guy perishes, and another PUA is born.

The columnist's attitude is part of what gave birth to this community.

The real secret variable here is appearance.

The pick up artists are simply more attractive. Attractive guys are treated better by women. As a result, they build up confidence with interaction.

Conclusion: They have a MUCH easier time with initial contact, because the woman is attracted from the get go. Then, they have more confidence from a lifetime of that.


Most people are amazingly shallow. It is 5 percent psychology, and 95 appearance.

These guys are pathetic... if you are a nice guy stay nice and go pick up on a nice girl. Do not turn into a what looks like a vampire/speed freak with a attitude problem just to pick up a skank. Stay who you are and go after someone in your own league.

I think this article is hilarious. First he scoffs at the basic show, not a big surprise, but he bases his thinking it on his poor opinion of psychology. Maybe we don't know everything, but psychology is a science that is studied by millions of people the world over. Should it be any wonder there are some practical applications for it?

Most people are fundamentally the same. We eat, we work, we sleep, we breathe, and we reproduce. We share many other traits, it is what makes us human. The truth is most women don't want to be lumped into one category, but they are all women ... isn't that a category? They are afraid of being objectified as sex objects, but that is what we all are here to do. Perpetuate the species! It's not our only goal, but it is our prime biological function.

So what does this have to do with being a "Pick-Up Artist?" It's all about sex. What they won't hear is the 45 year-old virgin say he just wants to be able to attract one quality woman, and settle down with her for the rest of his life. If I remember correctly he wanted the same thing his parents had. I can't blame the rest of the young men on the show for wanting to get laid, most of them never have been. If you just walked out of the desert would you want a drink?

After years of Orca Winfrey and other shows like hers, women have painted a picture wherein everything a man is and does is wrong, evil, and is to be ridiculed. While the majority of men just want a good woman to spend their lives with, most women refuse to acknowledge they are responsible for the wussification of generations of males, and then they moan "there are no good men."

It's no surprise the author of this review is getting a lot of sympathy from women, but how many is he dating?

I could answer with negativity on this one. But I'll hold myself back, i love your sarcastic comment about how all women are the same. Let me ask you this, when you got hungry today.. did you or did you not go to get yourself something to eat. You can safely assume that we as biological beings are designed to get ourselves food when we get hungry, otherwise we would starve. It's the same exact thing with women, women genetically are designed to look for men who could potentially safely protect their offspring. There are certain recurring behavior traits in females that can be observed, females on a 'beastly/natural' level act the SAME. Ask any psychologist who has experience with this. Mystery understands this and uses this knowledge to his advantage, and it has very very little to do with how he looks and everything to do with his unbelievable understanding of social interactions.

Observations after watching three shows: Mystery is good looking, tall, and a sweet talker; Mystery is getting kind of creepy though - time to ditch the fuzzy hat - I'm sure he can meet us girls, but not sure he'd ever get a quality woman on a second date; and some of these guys are so socially inept, it's almost painful watching them approach women. Maybe group therapy would have been a better first stop on their journey seeking companionship.

Well guys, reading this, it seems once again that some guys don't know what they're talking about and females are trying to hide things of their psychology as usual.
I'm a pickup artist, because i had a deception in my life and didn't want to suffer it anymore so i decided to study female psychology. Now, i thought i was really good, but Mystery is a cut above. Guys as a friendly advice, read his book or watch his videos, because it will tell you where are the female weak points, and of course since women always want to control everything, they're not going to tell you the truth, so don't trust them anymore.

Believe me, this guy knows his stuff, i'am right now learning from him!

I just saw the Pick-up Artist for the first time. As a woman I found it rather comical. Four guys were left. Purdeep (hope I spelled that right) was as clueless a guy as one can be in real life without being a made up character in a Bart Simpson episode. Joe, A sweet fat guy who wouldnt know how to make a move on a woman even if she sat on his face... Some very naive but cute in a dumb blonde kind of way bleached Ken doll and Cosmo, who I feel has the most raw potential but who has a scattered manic kind of energy. All the guys had kind of sweet souls but the loser factor shone pretty bright quite a few times. In any case I was entertained and the main reason why I watched the show was because of the Pickup artist himself who called himself "Mystery". He was a stone cold fox and I find it hard to believe that he was ever a nerd as some blogs claim before he published his book. To me he reeks of testosterone and all he would have to say is "boo" for a woman to go weak in the knees. I found myself fantasizing about him through the duration of the show. His side kick whos name I cant remember but who was a "wing" to Joe at one point was pretty damn hot too. I wouldnt mind being stuck on an island with the two of them , game or no game.

Mystery does seem to be quite knowledgeable about behavioral psychology. I just don't think he's practicing it in good faith. He refers to women as "targets," "moving targets," "objects in motion". Conversations are referred to as "sets".

You couldn't build a true, solid relationship on these methods. All they're learning is instant gratification. It makes me sad for these "students" (and their targets). To be honest, it makes me really appreciate my boyfriend!

Looks have nothing to do with game attitude has. Most guys want a girls thats tall, blonde and blue eyes most girls want a guy that makes them laugh, charming and knows what hes doing. Spot the difference females want personality traits while guys want looks. If you use mystery techniques u aren't likely to succeed as they come out as incongruent and creepy but if you understand the techniques it means u don't have to rehearse word to word but still get the girl.

The game works on the basic concept of supply and demand or high value. When I walk in a club with my girlfriend I can see the girls who want a piece of me lol or my meat eye baling me. Its because they wanna know the mysterious reasons why my girlfriend went for me if she
could have had anyone she wanted. If I say, "Quit looking at my chest, my eyes are up here." It intrigues females surprises them and shows them that I have to be important to say that. If I tell a girl that I have an intuition that she has had a series of failed relationships and shes at a point she wants to have fun but at the same time recognizes the right guy when he comes in. All this draws interest which turns into attraction eventually.

Then comfort is the idea that u've to connect with the girl . U can connect with her before attraction but u end up in lets just be friends zone. After she's intrigued wanna know more u can tell her about your pet, your family origins, your ambitions, your favorite artist, music, films while being playful and advancing in your touching her. Rewarding her with compliments not I like your hair. Although I get away saying "ur a nice piece of ass, ur waiting to be spanked." But drawing something unique like I like the fact that you have so much connection with your family, it shows a good upbringing and there's a togetherness about u i love that. I don't do drama queens. This shows that u actually know her, and it can only make her love you even more.

Now girls if you think thats creepy, then there's something wrong with you. I am a successful PUA and it's taken me time alot of work and my outlook it so different probably that's why I have become attractive but mystery send me on that path.
