New eps of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader in September

jeff foxworthyAre You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader kicks off its second season next month with four one-hour episodes and a two-hour season premiere.

The premiere airs Thursday, September 6 at 8:00 p.m., followed by a new episode every Thursday, save for one episode airing on Friday, October 5.

I've only watched a few episodes of this series, but I can only take so many minutes of a yammering jackass behaving in a manner that proves he's not only less smart than a fifth grader, he's also vastly more immature.

I know the producers want people on the show who have lots of energy, but it often reaches a point where I'd rather turn off my TV and just stare at a blank screen than listen to Henry from Sheboygan bellow out facts about the metric system like some drunken fan at a baseball game.

On the other hand, I do think Foxworthy is a good host, mostly because of his comfort and ease around the children. A kid can make even the most seasoned TV host nervous, but Foxworthy knows how to handle them. However, he'll have a whole new group of children to contend with next season, as the old group leave the show and some new blood is brought in. I assume the kids from the first season will be sold into slavery, but that's just my guess.
