(S02E04) I was a bit torn while I pondered this particular episode. On one hand I was disappointed - I figured out the basic premise by the opening credits. Eureka does enjoy dribbling secrets, but I think the faucet was opened a bit too quickly on this one.
Despite the extra twist on the handle, I still enjoyed waiting to see if I was right. After the open, there wasn't a real hint at the truth until various people started talking like therapists.
We were fed a few more breadcrumbs from Beverly's trail. Henry finally got into Kim's lab, but ended up finding the device that she planted thanks to Carter's therapy adventure. Is this sub-plot going to take all season to sort out, or will we finally see some action in the next episode? Considering the number of passports Beverly had, it might be a while. The passports from last time were an interesting clue. Is the Consortium some sort of international conspiracy? I always assumed that it was some sort of sneaky American group.
Fargo tried out for American Idol? That would make some great blackmail footage - especially in a town where everyone has a real-time pocket video player.
I'm certain that Jack's loyalty to Henry will come into play later on. We know that Henry is still a bit pissed off about Jack coming back from the future to stop him. Despite that, Henry's smart enough to know that Jack only did it to save the universe. Henry was pretty reserved when Jack came to talk to him, but I think Henry will eventually forgive Jack.
I have to give Carter credit. I didn't expect him to say that he'd ask for his old job back so he could stay near Zoe. I assumed that he'd just tell his Ex that he wanted Zoe to stay. It just gives another hint at how self sacrificing he can be when it really matters. I think that's one reason his character is so compelling. Carter has his flaws, but at his core he's the kind of person that we'd all like to be.
Despite the cheese, Sarah's music during the closing scene was great. It snuck in there, so it sounded like the normal sound track - but Jack and Zoe's reaction was priceless. (Every time I watch Eureka, I'm more and more tempted to make my house talk. - Oh yes, I really can.) The scene certainly grabbed your emotions a bit - my wife even did her little hand dance of joy when it happened.

I loves me some Eureka, but I thought having the whole town come in and tell Jack he's the richest man in town, uh, that they were all rooting for him was a bit much.

I'm really starting to love this show. What a fun episode. I hope Henry's secret doesn't drag on for too long.

Your wife did better than me. I was bawling like a baby by the end. It might have been easy to guess where Jack was, but it didn't make it any less emotional.
I love this show.

this episode REALLY reminded me of an ST TNG episode where crusher gets sucked into some experiment and everyone on the enterprise starts disappearing until it's only her and she has to step into the weird bluish light to save herself (hm...). that said, enjoyable overall.

I love this show and I'm not a huge fan of sci fi. I think it is cool to get stuck into a world of psycho babel.
