Their American Idol experience may have ended early, but being booted from season six before the Top 12 apparently did not truly signify the end of the road for semifinalists Sabrina Sloan or Sundance Head. In fact, according to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive, both of them have signed a contract with Universal Motown to record a CD of duets together. As you might recall, Sundance Head caught our attention early with his distinctive look and unique name. Then he landed in Hollywood and suddenly lost his spark. Vote for the Worst took credit for keeping Sundance in the competition at all. Meanwhile, I thought that Sabrina Sloan had one of the best voices of the competition this year. But for whatever reasons, she failed to build a strong fan base, and was sent home way too early (in my opinion).
The signing of Sabrina and Sundance proves once again that there really are no losers on American Idol, well, besides Corey Clark. The point is -- you don't have to be an American Idol winner or finalist in order to draw attention to yourself or jump-start a recording career. Besides being a high-stakes reality competition, American Idol creates opportunities for all of its contestants by allowing them to perform each week in front of millions of viewers and potential fans.
Despite embarking on this recording partnership, Sloan insists that both she and Sundance are solo artists. ''It's not going to be a long-term [partnership], like Peaches & Herb," Sabrina said.
Sundance and Sabrina head into the studio this month, and are planning a late November release date for their CD.

In your post, Sabrina's name always came first until the last sentence. Is that because it would have been too strange to say "Sabrina and Sundance head into the studio this month, and are planning a late November release date for their CD."? You could have just used a different word than "head".

I'm trying to resolve in my head whether not buying this duet CD is any more economical than not buying their solo CDs. Still not sure.

You would save twice as much not buying the solos than u will on the duet cd. Money that can be used to buy more SANJAYA stuff.

Congrats to both of them. My family fell in love with Sundance from the first auditons -we stopped watching once he was voted off. I'm very happy to learn that we will be able to buy a cd before year end. Both Sundance and Sabrina sing from the heart and have plenty of soul.
can't wait to see what they can do together.
once again congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always thought Sundance was way better than Sanjaya or Blake Sanjaya couldn't sing and Blake's beat boxing was just not music to me. Haley was the best looker of them all.

Ahhh, how sweet...more screaming from Idol's karaoke cast-offs. Guess they figure if a goober like Bucky could sell a few CDs why not any of the other wannabes. There's a sucker born every minute and the record industry depends on that. Can't wait for Sanjaya's Greatest Hits CD !!

right on fiona. the screaming and screeching on that show still gets raves from the three stooges sitting in front. why can't they just sing? because most of them simply can't. they know the viewers eat up that wailing crap so they resort to that to get by. who can scream the loudest and the longest should be the motto of that show. even if they lose, some money grubbing record exec will try and squeeze a few bucks out of their extended 15 minutes. this blog proves that.

This years IDOL was not even worth watching, not to mention I do not think any of them will have a great selling CD. I think AM IDOL has run it's course. And I'm sorry but Sanjaya sucked at singing, but he was the most entertaining. He really gave it his all and he was never boring like some of them. He will never be a star, but whatever he does, he will be good at it.

I'm glad the record industry is listening and not just going by who won Idol. I hope we hear something from Melinda Dolittle too, she has a fantastic voice.

it is annoying that sabrina "insists" that she is a solo artist. why does she feel the need to disconnect with sundance when she did agree to do the duet cd? how irritating. sundance should be the one making that statement.
