Alastair CampbellIraq owned Saudi Arabia in the AFC Asian Cup, a huge symbolic victory. Senior "Football" Correspondent John Oliver talked about the pointlessness of the win and the greater significance of the celebrations (and the resulting deaths). I'm very proud of the show for being able to do a football/soccer story without resorting to obvious "GOOOAL!" gags and containing the joke to just one little visual.

"The Scorn Supremacy": Patrick Leahy has said that he will subpoena Karl Rove. Of course, this was yet another opportunity to show that awkward clip of MC Rove. Good lord... That video hurts my heart. I haven't been able to look at Brad Sherwood and Colin Mochrie the same way since that dinner happened. I'm sorry... Excuse me... I must watch some "Chocolate Rain" to calm myself.

Senior White House Correspondent Aasif Mandvi talked about both the high usage of contempt -- complete with graphs to demonstrate -- and the art of this time-honored tradition.

"Foxy Brown": British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and President Bush had a sleepover at Camp David. After a night of doing each others' hair and talking about boys, they faced the press about Brown's views on Iraq. Brown's totally and lovingly backing Bush, by the way. Yay! New lapdog! Bush's remark about Brown not being the dour or awkward Scotsman, but the humorous Scotsman... That was a little weird. I was waiting for Brown to say something about Americans and cowboys and hamburgers, but it didn't happen.

As if there wasn't enough British-ness in this episode already... The night's guest was Alastair Campbell, author of The Blair Years: The Alastair Campbell Diaries. The discussion focused mainly on Campbell's book, which consists of real entries from the diaries he kept while working for Tony Blair. He shares the same views as Blair (and Bush), unlike Jon. Actually, Campbell seemed a little tiny bit annoyed with Jon, but he covered it fairly well with his... um... his British-ness, I guess.

Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert's a regular Shakespeare. Or he would have been if that sonnet was Elizabethan. And yes, Stephen's sporting a cast because he broke his wrist a few weeks ago. Poor baby. Moment of Zen: Iraq celebrates its big win. Confetti! Oh, god there's confetti everywhere!
