(S04E07) "More like a smile I'd like to service." - Turtle
I'm not sure what they were thinking with this episode. It's not that it was bad. I thought it was great - some funny moments and some loose ends tied up. It was sort of like the Vegas episode. Looking at the big picture, it doesn't have much impact on the season but it still provided a nice departure from everything else that's going on. I guess it just goes to show that Entourage can pull off something like this more than once.
Other shows, you might get frustrated if the on going plots got dropped for week... not this one. I will gladly forget about Vince doing Lost in the Clouds to see Drama screw some sex-addict in a giant pink bunny suit. A "furry!"
There were some things worth mentioning though because a lot did happen. First off, we found out exactly why Sloane broke up with E. It wasn't just because of the six months in Colombia making Medellin. The boys took off for an Italian vacation for another three months following the wrap of the film. What was E thinking? Maybe I missed it, but was Italy ever mentioned? Moreover, why didn't Eric have Sloane come with him? It was just a vacation. Probably because the guys would have given him a hard time. Too bad none of the blame will ever fall on them.
Fortunately, we got to see another side of Eric. Despite what Drama says, it appears that E was indeed born with "the sport fu*king gene." On the flip side, we finally saw what it takes for Turtle to say no to sex. And Drama... well, no surprises there. I liked how Turtle and E sort of switched roles though. I almost wonder if that may keep up, but knowing E, that British chick he slept with will somehow become his girlfriend by the next episode. I say bring back Sloane. She was a good character. Eric clearly has regrets about how he handled it with her. But she met someone in the meantime. The only way to save this situation? If that "someone" turned out to be Seth Green.
Final talking point? Ari. The guy has a soft side! His son Jonah actually made him cry and slip to the point of begging the school headmaster for an enrollment spot. Something tells me that this is going to bite Ari in the ass though. He agreed to give the headmaster's son a job in exchange for Jonah's enrollment. The guy said his son was "special." This cannot be good for Ari. For us? Probably going to be hilarious.
Other stuff on my mind:
-
What's the big conflict going to be with Lost in the Clouds? I know Vince and E are butting heads, but in true Entourage fashion, Vince is making a new film and that usually means something huge is going to pop.
-
I said it last week, and almost thought it was going to happen here, but I want some different pairings. E and Drama hanging out for a whole episode would be good. Trust me.
Overall, good stuff. I like when the episodes can stand alone and still work. But like everyone else, I still can't wait for next week. The episode is called "Gary's Desk." Sounds like the first name of Headmaster Preston's "special" son.

Is the Lost in the Clouds a fictional book? I have searched in Amazon and nothing showed up.

Italy was mentioned - in the first episode of the season I believe.
Someone gave E a hard time about choosing the most romantic place in the world to go on vacation with Vince.

I agree with the overall review that this episode was out of the blue and unrelated to the rest of the season and overall plot, but I disagree that it was not frustrating. I thought it didn't have enough laughs or interesting moments to justify an episode with nothing plot-related going on. It felt like filler throughout.
Hopefully next week they resume with something about Medellin or Vince's new project.

It was in episode 2 of this season, when they came into Ari's office. After the romantic comment, Vince added that they were out of money and that "they charge up to thirty dollars for a bowl of Penne over there."

I always know a good "Entourage" episode when I laugh at loud. That happens so infrequently with most other shows.

The last scene was priceless and funny as hell. A bunny screwing a squirrel, come on who saw that coming.

Doesn't Ari's new hiring necessitate firing Lloyd?

I think this was one of the best episodes in a while - I don't care about where their lives are headed I just want to laugh and see thier ridiculous antics. I think the show actually suffers when they get bogged down in plot. Who cares where they end up just make me laugh clown.

Entourage is a great show; it is hysterical and entertaining each week even if the episode didn’t "tie in" though I felt it did because they tied up loose ends. My only complaint is that it is way to short! I need more time with my favorite TV characters.

Kellee Brandise is not the blond who Vincent sleeps with...she was a background player on the previous episode. Look at the pictures...clearly not the same.

I, too, must know what the name of the song at the end was! It was beautiful!
Yes, Italy was mentioned as the boys were all living off of Vince's BlackCard, much to their financial advisor's consternation. No, I don't think that the hiring of Gary will necessitate the firing of Lloyd - Ari's name is on the letterhead - he can find the kid a desk anywhere and give him $50,000 a year, and no one will notice. He throws that around to his PI.
Now, I am going to sacriligiously pray for the return of Seth Green, and look forward to the introduction of Gary!

I actually thought this episode sucked overall. I've liked just about every Entourage episode so far, and this one fell short. The only thing that made this episode enjoyable were the great one liners (and i'm not even a one liner lover).. "No, mean is when i made ______ ride her bike home after _______"

The blonde was Sophie Monk. She is an Australian singer who starred on a reality show there (Popstars or something similar).
