The Battlestar Galactica panel was really a celebration of Battlestar's women. The panel opened with a montage video featuring all the female characters swearing or, at least, saying "frak" alot following the weighty words, "Well-behaved women rarely make history."
Not much was revealed in terms of upcoming plot twists or who will survive the show's next and last season although Ron Moore said that Baltar and Six's destinies will probably most surprise us. The one quasi-spoiler was the return of Lucy Lawless. D'Anna will be "unboxed" for a three episode arc late in Season 4.
The SciFi Channel shared a preview of Razor, the Battlestar mini-series airing on November 24. There wasn't any new information shared in the preview. The series will depict the first Cylon war, and we'll see the Pegasus under attack. The mini-series won't resolve the third season's cliffhanger, but it will set-up some information that plays into the fourth season.
The title Razor is taken from the movie Patton in which George C. Scott looks over his troops and says, "We'll turn these guys into fanatics. We'll turn them into razors." It's a scene that Ron Moore and David Eick said they return to often when thinking about the Battlestar series.

That totally falls into Cain calling the marines sent to take out Adama "real razors."
Who here called that?

Akbar: I'll take a bow, thanks!
I'm gonna have to chew on what Baltar's and Six's destiny might be though.

I could not contain my glee, and thus I must post: Frackin' awesome! So I imagine not a word was mentioned about the supposed spin-off Caprica either.. Oh well, that's okay. I have a good feeling about this last season of BSG. I mean, they must just put the great stuff in when you know you have to end the show in 20 some odd episodes.

Actually it's being reported that Richard Hatch came out and explained why the show was ending this season and not season 5. Moore wanted Sci-fi to give him 2 more seasons, they wouldn't, so Moore desided to end it himself. It also came out that all the loose ends might not be closed off because they might want spin-offs from certain charaters, movies, or even to be picked up by a different network.
I really hate Sci-fi. They couldn't just give Moore two 13 episode seasons?

I agree about the stupidity of Sci Fi. Last night I caught two minutes of the cheesiest piece of garbage movie called Boa vs. Python. They can put crap like that on, but when they have a tremendous product like BSG that is on the level of a West Wing...they don't want to give two more seasons. I also agree that they could've compromised and made the two seasons consist of 13 episodes. Why is it that the creator or E.P of one of the most lauded shows on television has to beg a bunch of morons for more of that winning product. Who runs that network? Can't wait for Razor! Early Cylons Wars is gonna rule!!!

I can verify the Richard Hatch story from David above. Hatch did tell the panel on Thursday (I was in the audience) that Sci-Fi wouldn't guarantee two seasons, so they decided to create this upcoming season as the last--but leaving a window open to potential future seasons.

Well what makes me really mad si that Painful to Watch Jane got a 22 episode first season. Flash gordon got 22 episodes, yet the most BSG got was 22 episodes when 2 of them are a movie!
And I'm thinking now that Moore didn't want two 13 episode seasons, which I think is interesting brcause Moore likes 13 episodes. The reason I think that is because 20 episodes this season and then they would only need to give 6 more to equel two 13 episode seasons. Six episodes would be enough for a miniseries and NBC would give the go on that. So maybe Moore wanted 30-40 episodes and Sci-fi didn't (because they suck) so we are where we are now.

Richard Hatch was apparently VERY WRONG with that statement.
MrsRon over at the scifi boards is refuting that fact stating that RDM never wanted asked for a 2 year run for the rest of BSG. There is also no proof to the claims that they are leaving things open ended for future stories.

Glen Larson speaks out against SFC's molesting his BSG source material!
‘Battlestar Galactica’ returns
But fans of original are wary of remake
Updated: 1:15 p.m. ET Dec. 9, 2003
A few years ago, fans thought they’d get the continuation saga they’d clamored for when Bryan Singer and Tom DeSanto, the director-writer team behind “X-Men,” hooked up with original “Galactica” creator Glen Larson to develop a project at 20th Century Fox.
When that deal fell through, Universal TV chief David Kissinger brought in executive producer David Eick and Moore to rework the franchise for Sci Fi.
“We want the fans to embrace what we are doing,” says Sci Fi President Bonnie Hammer, “but if you produced now what was produced then, it would feel like old TV. We wanted to make it more relatable, even in terms of the stereotypes of characters.”
___________________________________________________________
“I understand they’re trying to do a modern version,” says Larson. “But change for the sake of change — it’s taking the title and exploiting it.”

The panel was marginally interesting. Looks like another ho-hum boring season of soap opera masking as science fiction.
