Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars, has stepped down as executive producer and show runner for ABC's fall series, Miss/Guided. The official reason is "creative differences".The show is about a woman who was an ugly duckling in high school and returns to her alma mater as a guidance counselor. The Hollywood Reporter claims he decided to leave the show because the network wanted to make it more of a comedy than it originally was, and he wasn't on board with that. (Joel says it was already pretty funny, so I'm not sure what Thomas means... maybe it's turning into a sitcom?)
Writer/producer Mark Hudis will now run the show. His background is in sitcom-style comedy, as he was an executive producer of That '70s Show. Hudis is executive producing Miss/Guided with former '70s Show star, Ashton Kutcher.

Damn that's probably bad news for this show.

It's never good to see the creator of a show leave. And plus, the new guy wrote for That 70's show. That, even more than Rob Thomas leaving, will lose this potential viewer, as I thought 70's was awful.
