This week we have: Bones, Ghost Whisperer, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, House, How I Met Your Mother, Jericho Prison Break, Smallville and The 4400. (SPOILERS FOLLOW!)

Bones

  • Zack will be back this season after he's "sent home early from Iraq." Regarding a possible Booth and Brennan romance: "The show is just starting to tap into the relationship of these two characters," says David Boreanaz. Adds Emily Deschanel: "We're growing deeper of friends this season. [In an upcoming episode] we investigatte a certain kind of fetish and it brings up a little sexual tension.... They'll be forced to face what we feel for each other [early in the season]." [Source: Michael Ausiello]
Ghost Whisperer
  • We'll learn Jim and Melinda didn't choose Grandview, Grandview chose Jim and Melinda. [Source: Michael Ausiello]
Grey's Anatomy
  • Doctors will treat various patients who were injured in an apartment complex fire, including the woman who set it after falling asleep while smoking, in the second episode of the new season. [Source: TV Squad]
Heroes
  • Lyndsy Fonseca is out as Claire's gay cheerleader pal. According to Heroes creator Tim Kring, Fonseca's role had to be cut short after she landed that series-regular gig on Desperate Housewives. "She wasn't a pivotal character," Kring says of Claire's pal, who will now appear in just one episode. "The idea was that that part would grow, but it never got a chance to." New Hero Dania Ramirez revealed that when we first meet her character, Maya, "she's on the run from the cops." [Source: Michael Ausiello]
  • Jack Coleman, who plays Noah Bennet-also known as HRG (Horn-Rimmed Glasses) in NBC's Emmy-nominated series Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that his character will still have a dark edge to him at the beginning of the second season. "It makes it very clear, in the very first episode of this year, he's not defanged," Coleman said in an interview at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., on July 17. "He's still a dangerous guy. I think it's clear that he would move heaven and Earth for Claire, but you don't want to cross him. He is a dangerous guy. ... He's a big-picture guy. He's a guy with a plan, and certain things may have to be jettisoned in order to make that plan work." Coleman revealed that in the second-season premiere, which picks up several months after the events of the season finale, his character has been reunited with his adopted daughter, Claire (Hayden Panettiere), and his wife (Ashley Crow) and son (Randall Bentley). "The Bennet family has relocated," he said. "I can't tell you exactly where. And it's a new world. The secrets they keep from each other are new secrets. The old secrets have all been divulged. We're not retreading the old ground. But there's old ghosts. Old habits are about to rear their ugly head in a very dramatic way. .. The Bennets are together to start, but in a very difficult, awkward circumstance that they all have to try to deal with. And it gets pretty sticky pretty quickly." Coleman also said that his character will continue to be one of the few on the show without any super powers. "I love that I don't have any super powers, for two reasons," he said. "First of all, less prosthetics and less time in a harness. At my age, there's only so much time in a harness you want to spend. But the other thing, I really like having a character that has to survive by his wits. I mean, every time you see Sylar and HRG face each other, I mean, Sylar flicks him around like he's a bug. So he's not a guy who's going to be able to handle the dangers of the world that he's in physically. He has to do it through his guile and carrying a really big gun." [Source: Sci Fi Wire]
House
  • Exec producer Kate Jacobs reveals that when the season starts "House is alone. And House is trying to solve cases by himself. Cuddy insists that he hire [new staff]. Over the first bunch of episodes, he's going to call in 40 or so candidates and see who survives. Chase is working in Arizona when the season starts. And Cameron's there visiting him. Foreman, meanwhile, is heading up his own diagnostic team at another hospital. [Source: Michael Ausiello]
How I Met Your Mother
  • The season premiere will focus on the aftermath of Ted and Robin's breakup. Also, a major hint will be dropped about the Mother. Teases [Carter] Bay: "Episode one will show that we haven't forgotten the title of our show in a very big way." Also in the premiere, Marshall will give Barney a rather large clue about when his highly-anticipated third slap will be delivered. (Hint: It involves a website called slapcountdown.com.) [Craig] Thomas hints that this season we'll meet the woman that stole Barney's virginity. And she sounds frightening. There'll be lots of drama (and comedy) when Marshall and Lily purchase their first New York apartment. Marshall's work issues will also take center stage when he realizes that environmental law may not be the most lucrative career path. Wayne Brady will reprise his role as Barney's gay bro in a flashback episode that shows him "before he was gay... and very macho and over-compensating." [Source: Michael Ausiello]
Jericho
  • The season premiere of Jericho opens with Stanley and Mimi getting engaged. [Source: Michael Ausiello]
Prison Break
  • Sara and LJ will be reunited by the third episode, if not sooner. However, it won't be a happy reunion due to the thud taking care of them. Mahone will not enjoy his stay at Sona and one of the reasons is the lack of meds. You can expect his tremors to come back to haunt him. [Source: TV Squad]
Smallville
  • Clark takes Kara to Smallville's annual Harvest Festival, where she decides to join the Miss Sweet Corn Pageant. So much for staying incognito. Kara gets a job at the Talon and has a conversation with the establishment's folically-challenged owner. Lex is very curious about her... Chloe gets the scoop on a major story for the Planet. [Source: KryptonSite]
The 4400
  • In the season finale, Tom is battling for his life and needs Shawn's powers to stay alive. Paramedics try to resuscitate Susan Farrell. They believe that she took promicin and lost the 50/50 loto that comes with it. Danny is certain that she did not take the shot. After arriving at the hospital with the paramedics, things get complicated as everyone around Danny start to die. Garrity and another NTAC agent are sent to the hospital to assess the situation. It looks like Jordan is nowhere to be found. Meghan ponders asking Jordan's "army" for help when this "death virus" spreads. Kyle gives a press conference. Diana, Marco, Isabelle and Abigail also appear. [Source: SpoilerFix.com]
