I know, I know, you're thinking, "but Rory Cochrane was killed off the show!" Hey, this is television. Anything can happen.
Of course, it would help if CSI: Miami was a science fiction show. They could explain why Detective Speedle could come back from the dead by...oh, I don't know, some rejuvenation serum or time travel or robot double. But this is CSI: Miami, and it has to be realistic (even though we have David Caruso wearing suits in the humid Florida sun and never sweating). Cochrane asked to be written out of the show because he didn't want to do a weekly show. His contract said he couldn't work again in TV til 2008.
To answer your next question, no, it won't be a flashback. And Cochrane will be playing Speedle, not a twin brother. How they'll do this is anybody's guess. After the jump, anybody's guess!

Maybe they will go back to before season 1 started and well have CSI: Miami remember the 90's

I cried when he died. He better not just come back. That's unacceptable.

I agree they can come up with some lame ass reason. But this is when those sharks in Miami start jumping.

Since when did CSI: Miami become a DAILY show? You mean weekly?

what?!? the writers better have one damn good reason for him coming back to life. He will prolby end up actually dying later on anyway, like where horatio's brother was suposed to be dead, then they found out he wasnt, only to kill him off two seasons later. I liked the idea of CSI Miami killing off a major character, it was something CSI: Crime Scene Investigation had not ever done before. I hope that if they do bring him back (and with good a good explanation) that they kill some one else off to make things (more) interesting. Maybe this is because Ryan has been fired (maybe he is not returning to CSI Miami?), and the replacement is replaced by the person Ryan origionaly replaced (Speed).

Sweet! That show has sucked since he left. Wolf was so god awful that i stopped watching. I am sure it's a witness protection thing or some kind of sting involving IAB, or some drug lord ATF related thing, and of course, Speedle need's Horatio's help to get the bad guys.

My guess is that Speedle will a figment of Eric's mind. That's how they'll be working together. Any other way doesn't make sense. Didn't Alex do the autopsy on Speedle?

I'm going to guess his death was faked so he could join some government agency.

I'm thinking they'll say he had to go undercover for the FBI or something and that's why they had to make it look like he was killed, and no one could know the truth except one person - possibly Heratio or that snitch girl.

YAY! His death was the reason I stopped watching the show. He was the only character I liked. Everyone else was just a cartoon.

According to an article on E! Online News - "He will be reprising the role of Tim Speedle and it's not a flashback," a network spokesperson said. "He will be interacting with his old partner and friend, Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez)."
It could be a dream thing or maybe Delko is losing his mind and Speed will be whispering sweet nothings in his ear.
