(S08E08) My how the mighty have fallen. Less than three weeks ago Kail was on the top of the Big Brother world.
She was Head of Household, she'd made virtually no enemies to speak of, and she was the brains behind a four person alliance that had the potential to make it a good distance into the game.
Now she's the primary target up for eviction, she's pretty much reviled in the house thanks to Evel Dick, and her alliance is nowhere to be found.
I was a Kail fan coming out of the first few episodes, but that all started changing once she molted and her true form took shape.
If Kail fails to win the POV, I'm pretty confident she'll be getting kicked out of the house come Thursday.
During some of the random house shenanigans we learned that Jen used to wrestle guys in high school. Somehow, learning that Jen "wrestled" guys in high school wasn't all that big of a revelation. In fact, I would call this a scientific constant.
Anyhow, Eric and Jen ending up having an impromptu wrestling match. While Eric had the pleasure of rolling around with Jen for a few minutes, he probably came away from the experience less of a man thanks to Jen's foot kicking him squarely in the junk. Ouch.
In a slightly awkward scene that took place in the courtyard, Nick admitted to having a Top 5 List of women that he would like to bed. The awkward part? He also has a list of Top 5 Men that he would like to bed if he, you know, was into that kind of thing. He capped this off by saying, "I say a lot of homoerotic stuff." This might go down as the most obvious phrase ever uttered in Big Brother history.
I could only hear four of the bromances Nick would actively seek out. They included:
- Matthew McConaughey
- Hugh Jackman
- Brad Pitt
- Ryan Reynolds
- Daniele
- Daniele
- Daniele
- Daniele
- Daniele
Nick being completely upfront with his affection caused Daniele to have a crisis of conscience. The problem? She has a boyfriend at home whom she is completely head over heals in love with and she's starting to develop feelings for Nick.

I actually came away from this sequence with a newfound respect for Daniele. I'm used to seeing people on reality shows drop the lovers they leave at home like bad habits. Daniele and Nick definitely have some chemistry, so it's refreshing to see her showing some allegiance to "the only person that has always been there for her" as she phrased it.
I also liked that Daniele went to talk to her dad about her problem and Dick didn't disappoint and offered some reassuring words of comfort to his daughter. It's slow going, but they're definitely making some progress. Win or lose, they'll be gaining the most from this Big Brother experience.
Dick ended up also having a small tiff with Jameka regarding a comment he made about "starving kids in Africa." While I think Jameka was a little too sensitive to a harmless comment, I did like that Dick was able to empathize with Jameka's situation (being the only African American in the house and representing the race to the viewing audience) and how it might make her feel. He surprises me a little more each episode.
Finally, the highlight of the evening came while watching Jen admire herself in the reflection of a spoon. There's really nothing more to say about that. The picture below is better than any joke I could come up with.

Food Competition - Mission Inpastabowl
Aside from being the worst play on words ever, this week's food competition allowed all the contestants to reap the food reward if they proved successful in the effort.
Two giant pools of pasta with meatballs were setup in the courtyard and every meatball had the name of a food imprinted on its side. Contestants slid into the pools a pair at a time and attempted to find matching meatballs. Every match dictated the different types of food they'd get to eat over the course of the next week.
Basically, no one is going to be on slop this week. in fact, the house guests are going to be living large thanks to them successfully matching lobster, barbecue, chicken, and beer.
I'm elated by this turn of events because I don't think I could watch Jameka eat any more slop, or see Amber cry about watching Jameka eat slop. Yes, Amber cried again this episode.
America's Player - Who should Eric get nominated for eviction?
Eric learned that he would be campaigning to get Jen put up for eviction. I was a little surprised that America chose Jen because I think she adds a certain level of insanity to the house that would be sorely missed if she went home.
Eric seemed to be pretty successful in his efforts to sway Dick's decision towards Jen. Dick ended up thanking Eric for always giving him such good advice, which caused Eric to cock his head and smile like puppy starved for some positive reinforcement.

Eric's next challenge is to instigate some drama by covertly targeting someone's personal property. America will be voting on whose property he should mess up. This one is going to end up being very interesting.
Eviction Ceremony
Dick said this eviction ceremony was about "breaking up alliances, lies, deception, scheming, upsetting the balance in the house, and the effort to flip things to get him out of there." It was poorly stated, but we got the idea.
Dick pulled Jameka.
Jameka pulled Jessica.
Jessica pulled Amber.
Amber pulled Eric.
Eric pulled Daniele.
Daniele pulled Dustin.
Dustin pulled Nick.
Nick pulled Zach.
Zach pulled Mike.
And much to no one's surprise Dick put Kail up for eviction because she lied to him and tried to deceive him. He put Jen up because he believes in tit for tat.
He also points out that he will be doing everything in his power to make sure Kail is the one who gets sent home.
Tuesday, we'll see who wins POV and if it has any influence on the contestant that gets sent home on Thursday.

I think Jen is a total fake and is only acting the way she does to get TV time. In fact i heard that she's part of Chill Town '07 and that Will pulled some strings to get her in.

I don't mind the America's Player aspect when it comes to having Eric pull stunts on the different house guests, but they need to leave the nomination part out of it.
If BB1 taught us anything, it's that the majority of the viewing public votes the more interesting ones out and keep the boring ones in.

I would have liked to see the "backdoor" maneouvre used here, but the lack of real alliances means it can't happen - although Dick hasn't appeared to even consider the plan.
One thing that hasn't happened this season is the breaking of the house into two distinct camps. There aren't any real alliances outside of Dick and Danielle - everyone else is currently a free agent.
