Big Brother 8: Live feeds update - July 16

Big Brother 8 houseguest JessicaBig Brother 8 will air the Power of Veto Ceremony tomorrow. Did Eric complete his America's Player assigned task? If so, into whose bed did he climb while pretending to sleepwalk? What was the reaction?

How out of sync is the aired show when compared against the timeline of the happenings within the house as seen via the live feeds? The only answer I can think for that question is that it's discombobulated. Of course, I like to say and type that word, but this time it really fits the case.

For the latest on the happenings from within that Big Brother house of Hapless Hamsters, read below. Beware - severe spoilers warning for Tuesday's show!

For example, the fight between Dick and Jen the other night actually went down before the Nominations Ceremony, not after it. In previous seasons, I've seen the time span used for clips on the televised show encompass weeks of footage. When they think it fits for editing, they slip it on in there and the audience is no wiser. Oh, but we are wiser when we watch the feeds.

I knew you'd want to know.

Technically, the America's Player bit didn't really work out, but I'd imagine it will be judged as completed. The question was "Eric sleepwalks. Into whose bed should he get into tonight?" Yes, I'm paraphrasing that. Eric did the task, but the climbing into the bed didn't happen until past 9 AM their time (PT) this morning. Will that qualify as night? I'd guess so. When Big Brother allows the houseguests to stay up all night and they go to bed after dawn, I suppose that 9 AM is night.

He climbed into bed with Joe and Jessica after acting like he was on puppet strings for the cameras. The target who chose was obviously Joe as Eric tried to cuddle with him, then wandered off. Later, Joe confronted Eric in the shower and foul-mouthed Eric denied it was him. While I made a YouTube clip of that, I can't see how they'd be able to air the discussion without bleeping out almost every word Eric utters.

That leads me into another rant. Big Brother, stop showing Eric as America's Sweetie Player and Dick as the one who's bleeped all the time! That's driving me crazy. The editing constantly shows footage of Dick cussing (bleeped, of course), yet Eric is sweet and innocent? Wrong! On the whole, Eric is much more of a pottymouth than Dick.

Leading into the Power of Veto Ceremony, it was pretty much a done deal that Daniele would save herself with the veto and Jen would replace her with Joe. For a while, she was torn between nominating Joe or Nick. Since her real target for eviction was Daniele, the veto was certainly ruining her plans. Jen, despite the show airing troubles with Dick, actually has conspired with him at times. She wants him to stay.

After the other houseguests pointed out that, in a Dick and Nick nominee scenario, Dick would probably go ... she decided. Joe was the sure bet to go home when up with Dick. And, thus it's done.

As I type this up, Joe is very upset. He's going from person to person trying to plead his case. Will it do him any good? I don't know. The house is against him. On the Daniele front, Nick is trying to sway her into voting out her father. What Nick and the others don't know is that Daniele is working in the house with her father. I personally don't think she has it in her to vote him out unless it looked like it would be almost unanimous.

As a last note: A commenter in my previous post here wondered why Zach was so disliked by the houseguests. It's because he's sneaky, but not sneaky enough to not get caught. He plays people like a smarmy politician and they see through him. Since Jen won HOH, he's only become more obnoxious in his behavior.
