Big Brother 8 will air the Power of Veto Ceremony tomorrow. Did Eric complete his America's Player assigned task? If so, into whose bed did he climb while pretending to sleepwalk? What was the reaction? How out of sync is the aired show when compared against the timeline of the happenings within the house as seen via the live feeds? The only answer I can think for that question is that it's discombobulated. Of course, I like to say and type that word, but this time it really fits the case.
For the latest on the happenings from within that Big Brother house of Hapless Hamsters, read below. Beware - severe spoilers warning for Tuesday's show!
For example, the fight between Dick and Jen the other night actually went down before the Nominations Ceremony, not after it. In previous seasons, I've seen the time span used for clips on the televised show encompass weeks of footage. When they think it fits for editing, they slip it on in there and the audience is no wiser. Oh, but we are wiser when we watch the feeds.
I knew you'd want to know.
Technically, the America's Player bit didn't really work out, but I'd imagine it will be judged as completed. The question was "Eric sleepwalks. Into whose bed should he get into tonight?" Yes, I'm paraphrasing that. Eric did the task, but the climbing into the bed didn't happen until past 9 AM their time (PT) this morning. Will that qualify as night? I'd guess so. When Big Brother allows the houseguests to stay up all night and they go to bed after dawn, I suppose that 9 AM is night.
He climbed into bed with Joe and Jessica after acting like he was on puppet strings for the cameras. The target who chose was obviously Joe as Eric tried to cuddle with him, then wandered off. Later, Joe confronted Eric in the shower and foul-mouthed Eric denied it was him. While I made a YouTube clip of that, I can't see how they'd be able to air the discussion without bleeping out almost every word Eric utters.
That leads me into another rant. Big Brother, stop showing Eric as America's Sweetie Player and Dick as the one who's bleeped all the time! That's driving me crazy. The editing constantly shows footage of Dick cussing (bleeped, of course), yet Eric is sweet and innocent? Wrong! On the whole, Eric is much more of a pottymouth than Dick.
Leading into the Power of Veto Ceremony, it was pretty much a done deal that Daniele would save herself with the veto and Jen would replace her with Joe. For a while, she was torn between nominating Joe or Nick. Since her real target for eviction was Daniele, the veto was certainly ruining her plans. Jen, despite the show airing troubles with Dick, actually has conspired with him at times. She wants him to stay.
After the other houseguests pointed out that, in a Dick and Nick nominee scenario, Dick would probably go ... she decided. Joe was the sure bet to go home when up with Dick. And, thus it's done.
As I type this up, Joe is very upset. He's going from person to person trying to plead his case. Will it do him any good? I don't know. The house is against him. On the Daniele front, Nick is trying to sway her into voting out her father. What Nick and the others don't know is that Daniele is working in the house with her father. I personally don't think she has it in her to vote him out unless it looked like it would be almost unanimous.
As a last note: A commenter in my previous post here wondered why Zach was so disliked by the houseguests. It's because he's sneaky, but not sneaky enough to not get caught. He plays people like a smarmy politician and they see through him. Since Jen won HOH, he's only become more obnoxious in his behavior.

Thanks for the updates. They are much appreciated. It's really interested to read what happened in the house and then compare it to what we are shown. They should put a date stamp at the bottom of the screen so we know when those scenes happened. But I guess that would require them airing things in order!

Jackie the comment you made about Eric's "pottymouth" is spot on. I'm sure he is not aware of how many f-Bombs he drops in conversation. Too bad CBS doesn't say something to him about watching is language when he is working his assignments as it makes it more difficult for them to have footage for the show.
As for Zach, he has given me the creeps from day one. At times he reminds me of a creepier version of the Oswald character from the Drew Carey Show. I think Mike is the man to watch though, he is playing the game hard and staying out of everyone's sights.

Thanks Jackie -- Been wondering why everyone has such a bad impression of Zach (on the boards, I mean... they don't seem to cover anything like that on the show so far). I've seen him be funny lately with the whole magnus Kragnus commentary with Dustin, then joining in with the strong man competition, and doing the drinking everytime Jen says I think with Nick, all appealing stuff so I didn't get it. I've seen him when Kail was HOH up in her room a lot but what little I saw wasn't anything to spit at. I rely on your posts to clear these things up for us!!!!

This America's player bit is really not adding too much excitement to the game for me. Maybe after we lose a few more from the House it will get a little more suspenseful. I would think a few more crazy tasks like the sleepwalking bit will get the other houseguests questioning what he is up to. Frankly, I would have chosen someone else beside Eric to be America's player. Thanks, for the updates. They are much appreciated.

I had a hard time telling Mike & Zach apart in the beginning. Then I realized how totally HOT Mike really is! He's a local WI boy, so I'm really pulling for him now. Zach is not only smarmy, but he's got a wierd look. I can't quite put my finger on it, somethings just off in his face!
Thanks for the updates Jackie. I've been a huge fan since last summer!

Jackie...I just LOVE your commentary and updates. I have to admit I was a bit amused by Eric trying to climb into bed with Joe but have to agree that he's not the best choice for "America's Player". I'm not clear as to why Nick wants Daniele to vote out Dick? Oh well, reading your articles here makes the whole BB experience SO much better. I'm so glad you're writing for TV Squad!

Sasha I believe Nick wants Daniele to vote her father, Dick, out because he's a strong player and also Nick won't have to worry about Dick disapproving of their "close" relationship.

Between the F bombs and Like this and Like that, these young adults sound so unintelligent. Do they hold down real jobs and talk like that? *end of rant*

Jackie, you are so right. CBS is not showing how Eric swears up a storm with his potty mouth. But they show Dick in the worst possible light. Also the TV audience does not see how creepy Zack is so the TV viewers probably either like him or do not know much about him. So they may be shocked when Zack goes on the block unless they show some of the comments of the HGs about Zack being unpopular. I think only Kail and Mike even like him a little.

Jackie,
Great take on the happening over the last 24 or so hours. I'm surprised about Nick trying to sway Daniele. Why is Jen still wearing the red unitard? I thought she only had to wear it for 24 hours?
I agree Dick is blurred and bleeped every other word, and Eric gets no air time except his DR sessions in which what he is told what to do for America.
Zach is another Allison-- just sneaky and not really playing the game.

PS: Thanks for outing Eric. I guess if the producers chose him to be America's Player they have to make him look like it. But I hadn't thought of how they play it up for Dick as well. But Eric is by far the worst, and we saw that from the first night's feeds.

Is there any way we can let CBS know that Eric's next challenge is to go 24 hours without using any profanity?
Great updates. It's always interesting comparing the reality show's version of reality to the real reality. Huh?!?!
Keep up the wonderful posts.

Orkmommy-- Exactly! Thing about Zach's face is that he looks great with his face at rest, but when he smiles, his teeth are such that he gets this maniacle look... something also happens where it looks like his eyes bug out JUST a tad and the combo is I think what you are picking off as , well, a little off. I noticed it right away.

You guys are weird.
Yes Eric curses a lot. A lot! But who cares? I don't. If you do, then switch feeds to Jameka while she reads her bible. Most of my friends are far worse than Eric. Besides, think of all he's giving up to do the crap CBS is making him do...like go against his alliance with Jess and Jen, and try to get Jess evicted?! really? Then they make him sleepwalk? come on CBS, think of something better. As far as I'm concerned, his cursing doesn't matter. He and Dick are hilarious together.
Dick is basically just as bad. And that isn't a bad thing. I just can't wait till they show the Dick@Nite show. Now THAT? is funny.
Zach is basically fine if he does what he's thinking...he may jump ship like Nick and go to Dick/Eric, not Dani/Nick, though he likes Nick.
The truth is that for all the strategizing thus far? there is no clear set alliances at all...this isn't shocking.
so here's my break down....notice how some people fall in a couple places....
Kail/Mike/Zach(on fringe)/Nick(but not really)/Jenn(only as a pawn)
Kail/Mike & Amber/Dustin
Dick/Eric/Amber
Amber/Dustin/Jam/Dani/Jess(?)
Dani/Dick
Dani/Nick
Eric/Jenn/Jess
Joe/Jess
Just to name a few....

I agree with mike m, I really don't see why everyone is making such a big deal about Eric's cursing. Uh, perhaps it's because I am younger but I know a lot of people who swear just as much if not more than him, and I don't believe that it makes you seem unintelligent. You just have to know when not to use that sort of language such as in a professional setting and as far as I know the big brother house is not one of those places. He's just being himself. Isn't that the whole point, or would it be better if he were portraying some sort of character instead?
Now the fact that he isn't very likable and does that whole annoying eyebrow thing are two whole different issues, but to say that he is a bad choice to be America's Player because he swears too much? Seriously, are we all back in third grade or something? And how is it his fault that CBS is editing him to look more innocent and wholesome than he really is? Like we all don't hear or use that type of language ourselves on a daily basis. Oh please, you should all get over yourselves.

Mike M- The beef abour ERic is he literally uses the F word every two words... I love the F word myself, when properly used, and yet I have a real problem with Eric's over over over over over use of it. Dick throws it in for "Evel" drama or uses it as an actual noun, verb or adjective. There's a big difference.

Too bad the US isn't like the UK - swearing is rarely bleeped except when "Live", then they ask the housemates to not swear. One housemate did get removed for using the "n" word this year. I think the "c" word is also bleeped. The "f" word is not.
