Actually, they were asked to split. Ike Barinholtz and Frank Caeti did not have their contracts renewed for the show's upcoming thirteenth season. This news comes about the same time as news of comedians Johnny Sanchez and Anjelah Nicole Johnson joining the cast.
Barinholtz worked on the series for five seasons. Caeti was on for only two.
Typically, when someone leaves Saturday Night Live, they go one to do films. When someone leaves Mad TV, I think they typically go on to do cartoon voices. At least, that's what Nicole Sullivan and Phil LaMarr did. But don't think for one second I'm making fun of either of those actors. LaMarr voices Wilt on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and that cartoon kicks twelve essential kinds of ass.
Anyway, if Barinholtz and Caeti are reading this,start working on voices and head to the nearest animation studio, that's all I'm saying.

Sullivan acted on King of Queens quite a bit. Although true to what you say, she's also doing voice work for Kim Possible.

Nicole Sullivan should be huge, but unfortunately isn't. She's very underrated. I think the most successful Mad TV alum is probably Alex Borstein, who is a writer and the voice of many characters (including Lois) on Family Guy.
But back to the news. I kinda liked Ike, but I'm very glad to see Caeti gone. That guy was NOT funny. Really, the only thing that matters about this show is that Nicole Parker is there. She's brilliant. The rest of the cast isn't all that great.

That sux, Ike was great. He wrote some great sketches including "ike and bobby play football."
HOwever, Caeti sucked. he didnt make me laugh once including that awful "scrubs" parody.
Bring Back Caliendo and Keep McDonald for another few years, He'll be the Darrell Hammond of Mad TV.
Mad TV is still on the air dude. and it's funny as hell a lot of the time. SNL is soft. just like the 49ers.

Bobby Lee is by far the best comedian on MadTV, and I'm really upset that no one has mentioned him. The blind Kung Fu guy and the asian friend skits are the best. How bout when he played that nasty asian girl from grey's anatomy... LOL
