Should MSNBC keep Joe Scarborough in primetime instead of giving him the morning slot?
MSNBC is showing remarkable growth in primetime for the third straight quarter. Scarborough Country was up 36% in the 9pm slot. Hardball with Chris Matthews was up 9% at 7pm, and Countdown with Keith Olbermann was up 54%. The network is up 49% in the 25-54 demographic overall in primetime, and 34% for the day total.
Of course, Scarborough won't stay at night. He's suddenly become too important to them in the morning too. Right now the network's GM Dan Abrams has a show in that slot (I think it's called I'm Dan Abrams and I'm Always Right - Live!, or something like that). The disturbing news is that the "doc-block" shows at 10pm are up the most - 45% total and 66% 25-54. Gah. Maybe the network will go all docs at some point, if this keeps up.

This will help them. They have to make room for another leftists to compliment the extreme left Olberman and the "my bias shifts with the polls" Matthews. Someone nice and not over-the-top liberal would fit well there, a Couric-clone if you will.
Then MSNBC will fill the lefty niche currently only being catered to by NBC, CBS and ABC during primetime. Lots of room left after that.

I HATE the Lock-up and doc blocks on MSNBC. I'm horrified they are gaining in popularity - although, when you think about it, before, in the 10 pm slot was Rita Crosby, who, I am sure, was responsible for more bad dreams than a spicy Mexican buffet.
I am not offended by Joe. I am a moderate liberal, and find his conservative viewpoint fair and moderate as well. I think he deserves a chance.
As for ESK - Wha....?

Morning Joe is the wrong title for Joe's new show. It should be called "MINUS IMUS".

I really like Morning Joe. I am from CA and get him at 3.00 a.m. I would like MSNBC to try and get Shepard Smith from FOX. He is the only good thing that Fox has going for them. He would be an asset in place of Joe at night.
