Everyone have their Boston Legal scorecards out? Good, because there are a few more changes to the fourth season line-up in addition to those already mentioned a few weeks ago. So, get those pencils ready.
If you recall from a few weeks ago cast members Constance Zimmer, Julie Bowen, Mark Valley and Rene Auberjonois were let go from the legal comedy-drama while John Larroquette was added to the cast. Now it turns out that Valley and Auberjonois will be returning for multiple episodes next season. Apparently Auberjonois' character, Paul Lewiston, will still be a senior partner at Crane, Poole and Schmidt; however, Valley's character, the very uninteresting Brad Chase (end editorial here), will go up against one of his former CS&P colleagues in court.
Also appearing in multiple episodes next season will be Saffron Burrows and Gail O'Grady. Burrows (Reign Over Me) will play a commercial litigator who once had a passionate affair with attorney Alan Shore (and, really, who hasn't had a passionate affair with Alan). O'Grady, who appeared in several episodes last season, will reprise her role as Judge Gloria Weldon and continue her heated relationship with Alan (again, who hasn't had a heated relationship with . . . oh, never mind).
Finally, add a new full-time cast member to the bottom of your roster. Taraji P. Henson (Hustle & Flow) will be joining the cast later in the season as a new corporate lawyer brought in by John Larroquette's character, Carl Sack, to wrestle more political power from the firm. Hmm, looks like some corporate intrigue is coming down the pike for next season.

Looks like Season 4 is going to be the best yet. Good to see they are keeping it fresh with new characters and plot lines. It's good to see that the producers aren't afraid to shake things up vis-a-vis casting.

So is Brad leaving the firm and we see him in court against CS&P or the other way around?

I like this much better. A lot of the charaters they had were quite pointless, and I'm glad to see that Rene Auberjonois will still be around. His charater is rather pointless, but I hope they at least talk about his daughter. They can explain him not being there because he is taking care of the daughter.
I don't agree with MacGuffin at all. I like new cast members too, but they never write the old ones off the show, they just go to Mandyville. Getting rid of some charaters and adding others is fine if you at least explain where the old ones went. That sadly never happens on Boston Legal.
I fear however that John Larroquette will try... just will, take over the show.
I agree that Brad is the most boring charater on the show.
And am I the only one fearing that all these casts changes are the reason the show is still on the air? The Practice was too expensive and they fired everyone. Boston Legal seems to just get rid of people and storylines without thinknig.

Larroquette seems to be a perfect fit for the show. Can't wait for the triumvirate of scene-stealers next season.

I'm very glad to see that Auberjonois will still be around, although in limited appearances. As it was, they weren't doing much with his character. Maybe now that he's not a full cast member they'll stop using him as a background player and give him something decent to do once in a while.

I realize I'm being anal, but it would be "CP&S", not "CS&P". That sounds more like a utility company...

I'll miss Constance Zimmer & Julie Bowen (both so hot) but the characters they played not so much.

Alan Shore and Denny Crane are the only characters that make the show.Spader and Shatner would never let Larroquette hog the spotlight, and believe you me,the writers know that.
I just hope they continue to keep the show somewhat real like they did towards the end of season 3.

I like the cast additions and like others I'm glad Rene Auberjonois is back. But please, don't make Crane such a baffoon. Give him some medication and let him act a little more normal.
