With the theatrical premiere of The Transformers approaching fast, it should come as no surprise that Hasbro and Cartoon Network are developing a brand new animated series featuring the robots in disguise.
Transformers Animated, slated for a January debut, would be the ninth series based on the toys. In this new series, rather than constantly pitting themselves against the Decepticons, the Autobots will instead fight a human enemy. The new series will also NOT be based on the new film version, though obviously the producers are hoping for a hefty boost from the movie to get a new generation interested in the franchise.
The new series will premiere with an hour and a half-long special, followed by a twenty-six episode order. The series, envisisoned as a "reimagining" of the older series, will include talent from such shows as Ben 10, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teen Titans and Danny Phantom.
All I know is that I gave up watching The Transformers when I flipped on the TV one day and Optimus Prime was a monkey.

i'm not sure how this could work. how could giant robots have trouble fighting a human enemy? couldn't they just drive over them, or blast them with their giant laser cannons? that's why the decepticons existed in the 1st place. even to a little kid, that wouldn't make sense. unless every episode will feature robot kryptonite, which would get a little predictable....

man, don't knock Beast Wars unless you know the story behind it. You might be a bit surprised.

This is ridiculous...how many Transformers' series have there been? I only have fond memories of the first, most popular series. I never got into the others, but I would be willing to give Beast Wars another try.
I remember the WB version...dang what a horrible cartoon.

beast wars was banging, the animation, far as computer graphics, where a lil crappy in the beginning but the show only got better as time passed every season was better than the one before, and how they tied in optimus and megatron towards the end was crazy cool.
