I might be a bit of a masochist for putting Paris Hilton and The View in one post, but here goes...
Barbara Walters says she'd like to see the currently jailed hotel heiress as a guest host on the show when she gets out of jail. But not so fast! Even though it would seem that Walters would have the final say on guest hosts, that might not be the case. The executive producer of the show says there's no way Hilton will guest host.
Executive producer Bill Geddie was on Walters' SIRIUS radio show this week and disagreed when Walters said she could be on the show. Geddie said "Let me answer that: No." That prompted Walters to say "Let me answer that: Yes."
Can a week go by without some controversy on this show?

I'm no follower of "celebutantes" or movie stars but it seems to me that Ms. Hilton has been given a rough time. She chided no matter what she does or how she sets her sails. I suspect this time in jail has been a "wake up call" and I think she deserves a bit of a break when she gets out. I've watched The Simple Life — or parts of it — a couple of times and I noticed that she has quite graceful manners. That speaks volumes. She's made some bad decisions but what is that phrase about being the first "to cast stones?" In my opinion, I'd MUCH prefer seeing and hearing Ms. Hilton than, well, Nancy Grace. She's [Ms. Grace] abrasive and boorish. Frankly, Americans seem to set people up and idolize them only to feel good about knocking them off a glitzy pedestal. Enough when it comes to punishing Ms. Hilton! It's a shame. And, candidly, I know what it's like to have panic attacks. It's no small thing. My heart goes out to anyone in that situation. It's unthinkable. I say: put the heir on the air. Give her a second chance. It's the decent thing to do. PM, Dallas, TX

I guess I am not suprised by the previous vapid moroic comment. After all a Female from the State of Texas of vast corruption and greed would produce someone fawning over this pathetic rich nothing. The Hiltons are obviously vulgar nouveau rich who care only for themselves as she does. Imagine celebrating her criminal release by a grand soiree in Vegas...oh and they have the gall to want the casinos to pay for it.Sure shows the tack of Hollywood crass white trash. And as far as Barbara Walters the has been, put Paris on the never will be.

David, you are an ass. Please take your opinions and your comments elsewhere. You obviously have a rant up your sleeve and it just makes it unpleasant to have to deal with your political bent on an entertainment website.
By the way, I am also from the great state of Texas so I suppose I am also going to be lumped into your blanket comments about how corrupt and insipid we all are down here. Don't worry David, someone in this country has to earn all the money your party intends on taxing to death so millions of others can freeload their way through life. That's why God established Texas after all - the global center of corruption and greed, right?
Take a hike David. Was that nice enough for you?

Wow. Texas seems to upset people as much as the Hilton debacle. I don't like being immediately associated with Bush just because we share a zip code. I can't bear the man. And we DO have a record of "stackin' em deep and fryin' em cheap." Nothing to be proud of. So why would LA want to emulate Texas and act like a bunch of narrow-minded rubes? Hilton is primarily guilty of being good looking a rich. She became popular for SOME reason. Quit striking out and spread the love, dude. "Own it," in the LA vernacular. As in: be mature and have a decent sensibility. Also, Hilton is Roman Catholic. They claim she's praying incessantly. I think people can change. Call me an optimist. I've definitely been called worse. PM

Texas women do seem so forgiving as long as you have gracious manners and yes Texas did produce the most evil mass murder in history. I actually read an article the other day stating that GWB actually in reality revels in killing people. But I degress from my latest...the grand Vegas soriee planned by poor pappa to celebrate the release of his criminal daughter. All I can say is what utter crass gall...He is shopping for a casino to pay HIM $50,000 plus free guest accomodations and air fare.No wonder Paris has turned up the female mess she is with such sick greedy parents

Well here we are with a new set of facts in the great Hilton Saga. Looks like that grand Vegas party is no longer. Guess no Vegas casinos wanted to pay the Hiltons for a party. Now today inspite of ABC and NBC hoopala in the end NBC said no to a million and then when daddy tried to backpeddle to ABC for their mere $100,000 they all said no to the greddy hiltons. In reality who but a silly young female would be the least bit interested in what Paris had to say about her little stint. Now comes the new revelation that her alleged $500,000 Bentley has been repossesed for 2unpaid back payments and towed away to a lot. She just forgot to pay with all those helpers or maybe the truth is she didn't have the money. I read one article that said she really is broke from bad investments. Anyway honey you may have to go home in a taxi ?Gee wouldn't that be sooo not hot?
