All kinds of awesome TV audio

roosevelt franklinEvery so often I'll stumble upon something on the Web I think is totally the bees' knees, but then my excitement is met with total indifference by the folks who read this blog.

So who knows what y'all will think of it, but Way Out Junk is the coolest blog I've seen in some time. It's a collection of albums, many based on television, that are out of print. The blog allows you to download free MP3s, almost all of them transferred from the original vinyl albums.

I found two classic albums from my childhood: The Smurfs' All-Star Show and My Name is Roosevelt Franklin (see my ode to Roosevelt Franklin here). There's also a bunch of cartoon albums (some with original voice actors, some without), including the soundtrack to Flashbeagle -- not the greatest Peanuts TV special ever, but it does include the song "Let's Have a Party" that became the theme to The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show.

If you're not a cartoon/puppet nerd like me, there's plenty of other cool sounds to be found on the blog, including a Honeymooners album and a comedy album from Saturday Night Live's Father Guido Sarducci.

There's a bunch more to be found, so poke around.

Also, check out this blog, mentioned by one of the commenters over at Cartoon Brew. Tons of great retro TV sounds to be found there, too.
