Victoria Beckham and her soccer player husband, David, are currently filming separate reality shows about their move to Los Angeles. Posh is all over Los Angeles this week, filming her series, which will air on NBC or Bravo. She's doing things like throwing out the first pitch at a Dodgers game and "accidentally" bumping into Perez Hilton at a coffee shop. And David Beckham is making his own reality show for British network, ITV. Producers say it's not so much about his wife and three sons, but about soccer. There's a great quote in the article about the driving force of this reality show, "David's move to LA Galaxy is an historic event... Viewers will get an amazing insight into his thoughts about the story that shook the world of football."

David's ITV program sounds exactly like i held out hope for NBC's to be like. now it's time to let that pipe dream die.*sigh*
So,... britain gets a series about a guy they already know well and we get his socialite wife that nobody could give a rats ass about. We apparently aren't ready for that yet. It'd be best if we don't get to know one of the world's most influential (off and on the pitch, just look at the last couple England Euro 08 matches versus the few before) players and why he's moving to the MLS... for now let's just focus on one more socialite.
Apparently the powers that be don't want soccer/football to expand over here--not even TV networks that would reap broadcasting deals if it were to grow thanks to compelling documentary-esque reality shows that introduce a new audience to the sport.
NBC, you confuse the hell out of me.
