A few of the actors on Grey's Anatomy have said that they're not sure whether their characters will be returning for next season. In the case of T.R. Knight, his character George O'Malley failed the intern exam in the season finale, which left his fate hanging in the balance. Viewers were also left with a cliffhanger regarding Isaiah Washington's character, Dr. Burke, who appeared to have fled Seattle in the season finale. And, Katherine Heigl, who plays Izzie, has been in heated contract negotiations for some time now.It appears things have changed... but in case you don't want spoilers, I have put the information after the jump:
According to E! Online and Entertainment Weekly, T.R. Knight has signed a hefty contract to return as a regular next season. He'll reportedly be making $125,000 per episode and also receive a small percentage of the show's profits. Entertainment Weekly also reports that Isaiah Washington is returning, though details on his contract were not given.
As for Katherine Heigl, she has some newfound muscle in her contract negotiations. According to the New York Post, she suddenly has more bargaining power thanks to her starring role in last weekend's hit movie, Knocked Up.
Basically, it looks like everyone is coming back. Hopefully this season will be a lot less tumultuous on the set.

I don't know where you get your info but on the radio yesterday they said that Isaiasshole Washington will be returning but only for a few episodes, and not full time.
Maybe on his next job he won't call someone a faggot and then deny the whole thing.

Uh, David...he said that Washington would be returning, but details of the contract weren't released. Which means it doesn't say whether or not he'd be a series regular again, or just for a few episodes. So if that's the case, and he's only there for a few episodes, Anna is still correct.

I like Isiah washington and if he is not going to be on the show, they should take it off the air. Frankly, I am tired of Izzy, Meridith and George. Addison and the Chief are good for the show. Isiah have alot of talent. As a result, I may stop watching. The show is getting stupid. In real life there are conlicts and I feel some of the producers need to have classes in conflict resilution.

In real life there are conflicts. I may stop watching all together. Isiah washington has alot of talent as Dr. Preston Burke. How dare you fire him.

Hi! First time here. I just want to say...heartbreaking...that's the word. I really, really like Isiah as Doc Burke and he's gonna be replaced in the future, it wouldn't be the same again. And just like Regina, I might not watch it anymore too. Huhuhu!

I love Grey's Anatomy and it just will not be the same if the highlight characters don't return....people day and do stupid things and living in America gives us...."Free Speech", even if it hurts someones feeling...like get over it. I want Isiah Washington to return regardless of his comment...I think he just doesn't like T.R. Knight...which is okay, don't most of us work with people we would rather not...that's just LIFE!!

I think that even though we all have the right to say what we want we should still be concious of other peoples feelings. I also believe that some times we simply do not think before speaking, especially when we are angry. Stars or not they are all still human. The show must go on. Its not General hospital folks, we cant keep all the smae actors for 40 years, life just isnt like it was "back in the day". I think the new commers will make a fresh edition to the show and I, for one, will continue to watch the show.
