Any fans that are currently going through Lost withdrawal can now pre-order the Season Three DVD on Amazon.com. The set, which has been given the title "The Unexplored Experience," will be released on December 11, 2007. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the boxed set includes an interview with Matthew Fox, a featurette about the Others, a featurette depicting 24 hours in production, and several previously-unseen flashback segments. The usual audio commentaries, deleted scenes, and outtakes are also included.
Amazon is listing the pre-order price as $38.99. BuddyTV also noted the possibility that the DVD will be released earlier than scheduled. The release date for the Season Two DVD was pushed up several weeks.
Season Four of Lost is set to air in February 2008.

Why are they waiting until December to release the DVD? Season 2 came out September 5th last year! Come on ABC smarten up already. First your screwing us by waiting until February to start it up again and now we have to wait until December to get it on DVD?

I am sooo tired of ABC consistently making horrible decisions when it comes to LOST. We all know they lost a large contingent of their fans with the whole 10PM and winter hiatus fiascos. We also know that the show finally started getting some of itz buzz back and ended out the season very strong. Now to me it seems to make sense to get the DVD out as soon as possible in order to get them sold to those who missed the end of the season and want to jump back on the bandwagon. But no instead they decide to wait til Dec 11th for the release date. I think this is a horrible idea for three reasons :
a) why does anyone schedule DVD release dates for right after (2 wks) black friday. Missing out on a huge shopping day and tons of sales from people who buy all those gifts right away
b) for people who stopped watching after season 3a it would be 13+ months since they watched. Think people would be leary of getting back into it after that long
c) It only gives people who missed the entire season 6 weeks to get caught up before season 4 starts(3 of which are during the non stop busy holiday season). I know i can get through a dvd season in one weekend but not everyone can say the same.
Now i know they scheduled this just so they could get their name back in the news and peoples thoughts before their season starts. But if they wouldnt have went with the stoopid 3 seasons 16 per (rather than 2 seasons 24 per) they wouldnt be starting so late in the season and wouldnt need the reminder.
PS
make it four reasons....
d) a decemeber release date gives your average internet pirate 6 months to download the bootlegs off the internet rather than buying them from you
BOOOOO this network!!! BOOOOOOO

I'm surprised it's even coming out that early; usually it seems like they wait until right before the next season starts before releasing the previous season's DVD (ie Lost Season 2 in Sept) to drum up publicity/interest for the season premiere.

Good God. Do you people know the first thing about releasing a DVD and/or television product to the public? It's not entirely up to ABC.
