I know that the most devastating news that came out of the recent network upfronts was that NBC didn't announce when or if The Apprentice was coming back. I think I actually saw people crying and screaming on the street that day, shaking their fists to the heavens. But then NBC said it wasn't canceled, they just hadn't decided what to do yet. And then Donald Trump "quit" before they could "fire" him.
But wait! Trump told Larry King the other night that NBC wants to do another season of the show and he wants to do it too. He also criticized the network, saying they ruined the show by putting it all over the schedule (yeah, OK). So I guess they'll be another season.
Trump also tod Larry that The Apprentice "became the #1 show on television." I also heard him say this on an infomerical I found myself watching at 1:30am last night. Is this true? The Apprentice was #1 on television? Maybe it did and I just missed it.

I enjoyed the first few installments of The Apprentice, but I haven't watched the last two, and frankly did not miss it. As for the show being #1, I think Donald keeps saying that so that other people will believe it. Maybe it was #1 for one week early in it's run, or in it's timeslot - but I think he is embellishing just a bit. I don't always agree with him, but he is a compelling figure, and generally fun to watch. He has become almost a caricature of himslef though, which perhaps makes it easier to deal with his over the top statements. Maybe he and Rosie should do a show together - now there would be some fireworks!

I like to watch TV. As long as that arrogant, POS is not on it. I haven't hated someone so much since Steven Cojocaru. I watched a few episodes of the show, and had to quit because I just cannot tolerate him anymore. I hope NBC doesn't renew it. If they do, get some other rich asshole to make the decisions. He may have a lot of money, but to me, he is nothing more than gutter trash.

I stopped watching when all of the contestants combined had less creativity than the tip of my pinky finger, and all of the challenges were marketing related. I think that was the 4th season.

Maybe it's the #1 reality TV show based in LA during that time slot! It has to be #1 in SOME category.

Here's a Big Idea for NBC (to steal the title of the CNBC show hosted by Trump toady Donnie Deutsch): do "The Apprentice" but do it with someone other than Donald Trump. The British version of the show does quite well with someone named Sir Allan Sugar, who I guess is well known in the UK but except for this I've never heard of him. Let Trump go back to his new infomercials.
