A mere few days after the exploding season finale aired, spoilers for next season of NBC's hit show Heroes are starting to leak. TV Squad was able to get its hands on casting spoilers for the first two episodes of the season, which will start shooting mid-June.
(SPOILERS FOLLOW!)
The season premiere and the episode following will introduce a lot of new recurring characters and regulars. Here is, in point form, the casting spoilers TV Squad was sent about episodes 2.01 and 2.02 of Season 2 of Heroes:
- The yet-to-be-titled Season 2 premiere will introduce new series regular Maya, a Hispanic woman in her mid 20s. Could she be linked with Alejandro who'll recur next season?
- The episode will also introduce Kane, a recurring character that may become a possible regular. This man in his late 20s is referred, in the info we were given, as an ageless American with an European feel. He is said to be a charming womanizer who as a soul that seems to be older than he appears to be.
- A new Japanese recurring female character will be named Princess Keriyama.
- A few high school characters living in California will be added to the recurring cast. They are: Gay cheerleader April; charming 18-year-old West, who doesn't fit in much; May, a mean cheerleader high schooler.
- Other recurring characters making their first appearances in the premiere are: Georgie and Blackie, two Irish thieves, who are under orders of 45ish ringleader Ricky; friendly 40-year-old mild-mannered Bob who is said to be the "unassuming face of a very powerful organization"; NYPD detective Kincaid.
- The second episode will introduce new regular Monica. She is a beautiful African-American in her late 20s. She is very kind to people and always thinks of them before taking care of herself.
What do you think of these spoilers? Who are those people linked to in the Heroes' scheme?

New evil? We know that Sylar got away. I'm sure we have not seen the end of him.

Yeah and that's what bugged me the most. Sylar ran his course and still they let him live.
Man was I bored watching the season finale. So many illogical plot twists :-(

I am not sure Sylar is still alive, even if Kristin from E! Online says he is.
If you look at the trail of blood, it looks like his body was dragged away not that he pulled himself away.
My thoughts is that we only see Sylar in flashbacks like how he came to acquire the freezing power and perhaps what powers Molly's parents had.

So does this mean Claire and Noah move to Calif?
As for the names, when you have a ton of a characters to follow, the easier the names the better I guess. I know there are a couple of shows where I can't remember everyone's name and either call them by the actors name or something. Partly due to the fact I'm usually paying half attention to the show.... ie Jericho, 24, etc. My husband can't every remember everyone's name on Lost because he's not as into it as I am.

Oh course Sylar isn't dead, it's a comic book show, but the whole fight was lame.
It seems clear now that the bigger badguy dragged Sylar into the drain. Of course it could also be the TMNT! :)

I think Molly's dad gave Sylar the freezing power. I always wondered why Sylar froze him when that totally didn't fit his MO. Then I realized, Sylar froze him AFTER taking his power.

#9. "Whats with the cheerleaders? Why are the only high schoolers with superpowers girls, and cheerleaders."
I think this will fit into the recurring slogan, "Save the cheerleader, save the world." Season 1 was pretty much where we thought NYC would get nuked - but perhaps season 2 will prove that there's something bigger out there, and that NYC isn't the world. It just may be that the world is still in danger...

If Sylar has "run his course", they need to just end the show the now. When the best, most deep, most interesting character on a show has nothing new to add to his character, as you're alleging, then they ought to just wrap the thing up.
Sylar isn't dead. Sylar isn't necessarily some big bad guy. He's going to be a far more deep character than we'd expect, and as long as he's still around, the show is going to continue to be amazing.

I don't get the people who are so upset about Sylar getting away. This is a series that above all is playing in the conventions of comic books. One such convention is that the villain rarely, if ever, dies leaving the reader without any doubt that he or she is dead.

Sylar's definetly going to stay and become more complex. What im most excited about is the chracter who Molly mentioned as being even more evil than sylar and capable of seeing her as she looks for him. It was pretty awesome hearing how worried she was about him, so he's got to be pretty strong.
I hope the new characters will be just as well develeoped as the ones we come to love from season 1. Can't wait to here about some new crazy abilities!

I think Peter Petrelli lives. in the episode which shows NYC five years later, peter petrelli still lives, even though he actually exploded and destroyed NYC. I hope somehow Hiro goes back in time and prevents Sylar from becoming "evil"... after my opinion, he did have special powers before killing his first victim. the power to see things so clearly just by watching it. like being a clock-maker... btw, anybody thinks mohinder may have special powers? his sister did.....?

You'd think Sylar would have died when he blew the station up with the hand grenade

Geez, if this is what they have planned, Heroes (for me) is really starting to slip and I may not make it through another season.
If they are serious and carry this through, the show has gone from "must see" to "I'll see."

Due to the total overhaul of characters, I think that PERHAPS these spoilers are not referring to Heroes Season 2, but instead Heroes' spin-off, Heroes: Origins, a six-episode season where totally new characters are introduced, with the American public voting for their favourite character, guaranteeing their position in the 2nd Season. This spin-off will be shown in Fall 2007, the 2nd Season of Heroes being shown the consecutive year.
If you do not believe me, visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroes:_Origins
Although only one character is supposed to be introduced per episode, maybe the series has a centrifugal plot, thus producing a side story, with the voted Heroes being the characters who are added into the 2nd Season.
