It hasn't even been a week since Family Guy wrapped for the season, but already there's buzz about next season's premiere. The cartoon has received George Lucas' blessing to spoof Star Wars. The episode will be an hour-long and use the Family Guy characters to recreate Star Wars. So, Peter Griffin will be Han Solo, Lois will be Leia, Stewie will be Darth Vader, Brian will be Chewbacca, Chris will be Luke. Etc, etc. This is interesting because we're already going to see a Star Wars spoof from Robot Chicken next month, which not only has Lucas' blessing but also his cooperation. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane often voices characters on Robot Chicken and Seth Green produces Robot Chicken but also voices 'Chris' on Family Guy. Not sure if this all came together by coincidence or what.
MacFarlane will premiere some of the Family Guy/Star Wars spoof at this weekend's Star Wars convention in LA.

DiRT stop hating just because family guy is the new king of the castle and the Simpsons are yesterday's news. The show needs to just be put to sleep now while it still has SOME dignity left or before they go the distance and just hire moveon.org to start writing.

How Original-NOT!
this show has been awful from the start. Even through The Simpsons is way past its prime it is still better than family guy.
To bad more people don't watch the underrated King of the hill over this garbage, I can't wait to see the day when this show offically gets cancelled and doesn't get renewed again do to strong DVD sales.

Wow, Family Guy spoofing out-of-date lowbrow culture? What are the odds?
At least The Simpsons writers seeem to have read a book or two (in fact, it seems to me that a lot of the whiners about how The Simpsons has gone downhill may be missing a lot of the more subtle references).
Championing Family Guy over The Simpsons is kind of like proclaiming the superiority of "Weird" Al over Tom Lehrer.

Im sorry! I couldn't make out anything you guys are saying other than whah whah whah, simpsons, whah wha whah, not fair. The simpsons rule! No disputing that. They had their time and people complained then too. But if you hate family guy so much, why waste your time complaining about it. Wouldn't it be easier to turn the channel. Or do you really have nothing else better to do. Sitting there in your recliner eating cheetos, watching the lost episodes of King of the Hill.
