At least, it will be starting on July 1.
Pipeline, CNN's broadband site that was launched in 2005 under a subscription model, include four live streams plus archived video footage. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CNN never talked about how many people actually subscribed to the service, but I must say this seems like a good choice for CNN, considering how the majority of online content, news and otherwise, is offered for free and supported by advertising. If you charge, folks will simply go somewhere that doesn't.
In addition, CNN will also be redesigning the site for its relaunch.
So there you have it, news junkies: now you can have CNN playing on your computer, FOX News on the TV, NPR on the radio, ABC News on your iPod, and your butler reading you the New York Times all at once. It'll be like getting shot in the face with a machine gun of information. Yee ha.

Hopefully someone is reading this over at CNN. It would be great if CNN Pipeline would work on Firefox.
I always get an error saying I don't have the plug-in (which I do) and it is frustrating. Especially seeing how Firefox has 100+ million users in the world (a 16% market share)

Really, MacGuffin? That's weird, because I used it myself when they did the free preview (admittedly this was in early 2k6), and I'm running FireFox in Linux no less.
But I'm actually rather excited to hear someone is finally streaming video news online for free. I don't mind if they show commercials during it, since I mean, you're getting it for free, and it gives them a chance to setup the next shot. And I mean, you get commercials anyway when you watch it on cable, that you had to pay for. At least this way, the people who made the content get the revenue (I know Cox here in AZ slips in their own ads during broadcast, and I'm sure others do as well).
It also works well for me since, being a college student, I don't really have money in the ol' budget to spring for Internet AND expanded cable (since all you get from Cox in Basic is locals+shopping channels). The ideal situation for me, since I really only watch Daily Show/Colbert Report and South Park on cable, would be to buy those episodes w/o DRM (since it doesn't jive well w/ my OS) and w/o commercials, or watch them for free w/ commercials (take your pick...I either pay, and don't have commercials, or don't and accept commercials, not both *glare at cable companies*), watch the major network shows OTA (HD service is wayyyy too much), then watch CNN Pipeline for news. That would be the ideal digital age. :)
