Jericho fans aren't just sending sternly-worded e-mails and signing petitions to save the show, they've also launched a 'Send NUTS' campaign that is really picking up steam. This fan website concocted the campaign after CBS announced Jericho's cancellation at last week's Upfronts presentation. The reason for the nuts is based on something a Jericho character, Jake, said when New Bern's commander asked him to surrender. He said "Nuts!" That also happens to be a famous response given by WWII Gen. MacAuliffe when asked to surrender at the Battle of the Bulge.Fans have enlisted the help of a family-owned New Jersey nut company called NutsOnline, whose employees are working overtime to handle the sudden increase in demand for nuts. The business is taking orders and sending bulk shipments to CBS. As of Tuesday, nearly 5,000 pounds of nuts have been ordered and/or shipped. You can order here if you, too, think CBS is NUTS for canceling Jericho.
*Update: NutsOnline is donating $.10 on each pound of nuts shipped to rebuild Greensburg, Kansas, which was destroyed by a tornado earlier this month.

I just wish it would help, but unfortunately it won't! CBS will never admit they screwed up!

The best fans can hope for is probably a 2 hour special for some closure... at least that is what I would be begging for.

if you go to that jericholives.com link and look at the ratings section.... you forget how much CBS killed this series with its almost 3 month hiatus....
sure a show will lose its audience if its off the air for 3 months....
Jericho had the numbers to warrant a return before CBS screwed it up

Ok first off, we are not nuts, as some here have said. We are here to get CBS to listen to us, and yes it to working. I have to ask you David, have you ever watched Jericho? Have you looked on the fan boards? If you have, then you would understand how strongly we feel about this.

Maybe you should send the nuts to those poor starving farmers in Kansas. I mean. How are they ever going to get to the grocery store to buy dinner, if the closest store is on the other side of miles and miles of crops?

FOR THE LAST TIME, I HAVE POSTED THIS TWICE NOW, AND SENT IN AN EMAIL ABOUT IT.
CBS'S NINA TASLER SAYS SHE'S MOVED BY THE PETITION AND HAS DECIDED TO GIVE THE FANS A RESOLUTION.

"RESOLUTION" doesn't mean the show will come back. I thought the Nuts idea was great, so I spent $5 on my Nuts. Not really a bid deal. I have gotten $5 of amusement out of the story so I am good. I mean really isn't sending anyone 4042 lbs of Nuts funny?

Even if not renewed, there'll be a conclusion. The point is that no one has made mention of it here and still act as though it won't come back in any way. But it's confirmed that it will...in some way...whether its a TV movie or half season pickup to possible renewal if ratings are good. Look, send all the nuts you want and complain all you want. All I'm saying is that CBS has capitulated and I don't think people are aware of it because tvsquad hasn't made reference to it.

Maybe I am NUTS because I watch something other than reality TV. Maybe I am just having fun watching a major network squirm. As far as too much time and money on my hands.... maybe. Maybe I should be the demographic CBS should be looking at 35, Married and enough time and money to make a difference. I don't know.
NUTS! SAVE JERICHO!

Can I send my 'nuts' to the CW instead? I liked Jericho alot but I'm more upset of the cancellation of Veronica Mars than Jericho. If I had to pick one show that was canceled this season to come back, it would be Veronica Mars. Sorry Jericho fans.

Good for them.
CBS is getting exactly what they deserve. They give this great show and get us invested in 'who dropped the bomb'.
Then they give us a fall finale, and leave us twisting in the wind. In this day an age you expect people to come back after a couple of months absence , and then cancel when when the ratings aren't up to their standards.
CBS took a gamble and loss, and fans are paying for it. Resolution is good the fans that returned deserve it, it's not another season , but I can deal with closure.

I want Jericho back... Why must you put down a group of passionate people fighting for what they believe in. Granted this is a TV show, and not the fate of the world, but it about the future of America too.
No not everyone loves this show...but this campaign is about more than that. It is about the fact that advertisers decide what we watch, and cheap and easy to produce reality shows are taking over the networks. What happened to good writing, acting, and directing? Jericho is our stand, but overall what we want is to bring back quality television.

I saw the pilot and a few episodes here and there and overall it was a badly done show. The writing was blah, Jake pisses me off and I'm glad it's gone.
That said I wish they would do a 6 episodes season two or something to close off storylines. I hate when shows are canceled on cliffhangers (Odyssey 5).
That said... I still think you are all completely NUTS if you think this will work. Of course CBS was thinknig about a TV movie anyways so if that happens all the fans will declare it was because of this crazy ass nuts thing, which will have nothing to do with it.

This kind of thing is about as useless as those dumb online petitions. Do you really think anyone is going to take a couple of thousand goofs sending nuts to a studio seriously. I imagine they were already planning some kind of ending anyway and this had nothing to do with it. I'm sure they had a meeting and said hundreds of people are sending nuts to our office we need to bring back Jericho. So once it comes out you all can watch it and wank off to it or what ever it is you want to do and get on with your lives. After all it is just a TV show and not a very good one at that if it was and enough people watched it it wouldn't have been cancelled.

The Networks have no regard for their TV Audience whatsoever. I remember how upset I was when Invasion was cancelled. And ABC in their great wisdom still has not found a suitbale replacement on Wednesday night. They are looking for that one more BIG Blockbuster.
I didn't watch Jericho cause I figured CBS would cancel it for sure. My friends have said the same thing. They don't watch certain shows because they don't want to get into a middle of a storyline and the show will be cancelled.
The Networks cause their own problem by yanking shows so quickly.
