Kathy Griffin recently announced on The View that she wants to date again, but this time she's not going to do it for love, she's going to do it for publicity. She's asking her fans to go to OffTheDList.com and vote for one of the following men:
- Sanjaya
- Kevin Federline
- Mario Lopez
- Larry Birkhead
- Prince William
The "winner," if he can be called that, will be featured in the season finale of Griffin's Bravo reality series My Life on the D List. The season finale airs July 24. The new season kicks off on June 5 at 10:00 p.m. The season premiere will be preceeded by Griffin's new stand-up special, Kathy Griffin: Everybody Can Suck It at 9:00 p.m.
I'm rather indifferent when it comes to Kathy Griffin, but I do give her credit for showing how we tend to both mock and embrace the world of celebrity. Everyday folks may poke fun at these so-called celebrities, but they also can't stop talking about them. I think Griffin exposes that paradox better than anyone.

I don't like any of the choices on the list, but if forced to choose, then I pick Sanjaya. They're perfect together: they belong on the "D" list, they don't have any business getting the attention that has been thrown their way. Generally useless fluff.
But if you're willing to take a write-in, she should date the trainwreck that is Anne Heche. Oh wait, maybe that would get her *less* attention.
Whatever works. :)

Sigh. She's supposedly mocking celebrity while simultaneously chasing it like dog? She's always been a fame whore, now she's sinking just a tiny bit further down the dignity ladder.
Is fame SO addictive you'll do anything for it? She's like the women that fall in love with serial killers and want to marry them even though they're on death row. Just to get another little taste of "fame."
Wait, she has fans?!?

Sure, I'm biased but...my choice for Kathy would be Ted Roberts! A great guy, loves Kathy, hetero, romantic, told he's attractive, educated, witty, well traveled, well employed, mature enough to be a "real man" with just enough "little boy" left.
