My god, TV Squad. Stop the presses? This is about fifth generation news by now. You guys really need to start subscribing to trade news updates instead of relying on second hand news from other amateur sites because Variety sent a Breaking News update about this a couple days ago. Referencing other TV sites who probably did the research for you is just lazy journalism. Am I seriously supposed to believe that you get paid for this?

Hopefully they move CTU to a location where its floor plans aren't printed in every terrorist guidebook. Maybe Chloe will take their sophisticated computer system off of WEP protection.

Hey, Cinesister (2), I am soooooo-oo-oooo impressed that you subscribe to Variety, and that you, like equally impressive Jake (3), manage to be totally and completely on top of every single entertainment scoop. I am humbled even to be posting on the same site as such cutting-edge media gurus.

That said, I also want to thank TV Squad and Meredith for bringing this kind of item to the attention of us lesser folk. You see, the average TV pleb, such as moi, probably doesn't mind being a day or so behind on the latest heart-stopping buzz. Most of us don't subscribe to Variety either (pathetic, I know), and are pretty happy to use sites like TV Squad for relevant info and, as importantly, the chance to comment ourselves.

So, please (how can I put this gently?), lay off, you smug, know-it-all bullies. Merideth is doing just fine, and I look forward to her guiiding us through 24's seventh season.

What I want to know is: why is Jack wandering around with walnuts stuffed in the lower part of his cheeks? One on each side, they are really noticeable. And will they be there for season 7?

For the record, I read that article here several days ago. It was listed under "24" news.

Below is a quote from that, and I'm surprised no one commented on it:
"Aside from Sutherland, "24" will return with a new cast (some old favorites might return in different roles) and a new, non-Los Angeles location, with the producers even contemplating telling the story from two locations."

That's huge. New cast? Some old cast MIGHT return in different roles? Who might those old favorites be? Wayne? Audry? Kim? the Palmer ladies? Morris?

I'm not sure the "old" show needed to be canceled and come back "new." Jack, you a tiga now. Some infusion of creative writing, and likable characters, would have done the trick - me thinks.

Jack told me that walnuts are healthy, so he tries to keep somehandy at all times. Yeah, I agree, it doesn't look the best - he could chew pumpkin seeds for example - but at least we can be thankful he's not into coconuts...at least, not yet. Give him time.

I just have to comment on the use of the phrase 'Jack-tion'...fantastic, simply fantastic.

And is this going to be the new trend, shows announcing an end date years in advance? I mean for Lost, that's one thing, being probably the most story-intense serial drama ever made, but 24 is more loose from year to year, and an end date is only because they're out of ideas, not because they need to know when to wrap up the BIG story, because 24, as much as I love it, could pretty much end at the finish of a lot of its seasons without much of a problem...

In terms of the old characters in a new role, I'm thinking it might be someone like Tony or Henderson, now I know they're 'dead' okay, but with 24, you never know how dead someone really is. Jack's been legally dead twice in this series himself. Henderson I would believe a lot more, because his death was a lot more workable than Tony's, but I always felt Tony got such a raw deal with the way he went out that I always hope he comes back.

Also we're supposed to get a real big WTF-type moment in this season's last minute, so that might mean someone that's 'dead', coming back.

Maybe someone like Bill Buchanan enlisting (or re-enlisting, if he has a backstory I don't know about it) in the military and crossing paths with Jack in the field...

I'm thinking the next season may be part of a war, as we're seeing the three of the largest, if the not THE largest powers coming to a head right now, and Jack would surely be out there taking the fight to the enemy if something like that was to be the story. It'll probably get defused before this season's out, but a gigantic world war type scenario would be insane (in a good way) for Jack to be involved in. New characters, new settings, new stories...all in all fresh new Jack-tion

I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of Howard Gordon's mouth. Just because they're going to move the fictional locale of "24" out of LA and away from CTU doesn't mean that the essential formula of the series is about to change.

Its clear what's going to happen.

Jack is going to die, and next season will become a prequel with "old favourites returning in different roles."

Why this will happen? The producers are struggling to be fresh and not repeat story lines, because let's face it, this season is a mesh of the old, and the one 'safe' cast member that we always assume is Jack because he is the show. Kill him, and you surprise the hell out of everyone.

With the focus of the show being the element of 'time' and with it being "reinvented" as they say, we're going to see Jack Bauer in a different time in his life. Hopefully, it will include Tony, Michelle, and Palmer, who were the best ensemble the show has EVER had.

I'm up for an Operation Nightfall/Kosovo season which sets up Season one. It would bring back all the old favorites, like Nina and Stephen Saunders, both in respectable roles before their bad turns, and would primarily take place overseas as the producers have said. That's a way to reinvent the show. Take us back and lets see these characters in a new light and under new circumstances, because lets face it, the show is nothing without the characters that drive the story. If you leave Jack onscreen for an hour with bad characters like Berooz, the whiny kid who complained about his girlfriend Debbie, or the all too common crazy character, such as Erin Driscolls suicidal daughter or the torchured into insanity subplot, the show falls apart. If the producers can show us real characters again that we care about, make the show more personal again, rather than have yet another nuclear bomb scare, we could see another brilliant season.

Season Seven Spoilers!!

Inside information has it that the mystery plotline for season seven of Fox TV's franchise series "24" has terrorist thwarter Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) going behind the scenes of a twenty four hour Dance Dance Revolution marathon to protect a 16 year old South Korean computer genius.

Christopher Lee (Star Wars, Attack of the Clones' Count Dooku) joines the cast as Bruce Sigmore, an aging gay dancer who tries to kidnap the youth.

Expect some wild dance off moves as Jack is expected to take to the dance pads in the two hour finale in a dramatic, tense dance off against Lee. Will Jack have the moves to keep up?

The clock is ticking....

Guided by the translucent spirit of Tony Almeida, Jack will train on the home version of DDR throughout the season, eventually mastering the dual pad manuever, which will catchSigmore off guard. Thrills about as Jack must defuse a thermalnuclear device which has been implanted in the coinslot of the arcade game.

Expect laughs aplenty when Cloe's dog, Tubby Tim-Tim is introduced in a comic subplot involving an European diamond heist, an E Coli scare invoving Zesty Italian hamburger Helper, and two renegade circus monkeys (Sean Hayes and Eric McCormick of TV's "Will and Grace.")
