The King of Queens (Mon., 9PM ET, CBS) series finale
Another "fat husband, hot wife" sitcom bites the dust. What, does that only leave According to Jim? Guess the genre wore itself out. The King of Queens was probably the best of the lot, thanks to a genuinely funny cast. In the finale, Doug (Kevin James) wants a divorce after nine years, but Carrie (Leah Remini) thinks they can still save their marriage by adopting a child. Meanwhile, dad Arthur's wedding to Ava doesn't go as planned.

Gilmore Girls (Tue., 8PM ET, The CW) series finale
Two best friends who happen to be mother and daughter: that was the premise of this show when it first premiered and it still holds true seven years later. I'm sad to see the Gilmores go, but ending with Rory's graduation from Yale seems only fitting. Our Girls have truly grown up. The finale sees Rory getting an intriguing job offer -- and meeting hero Christiane Amanpour. Luke goes into overdrive to organize a celebration, which provokes Lorelai to do something unexpected.Lost (Wed., 10PM ET, ABC)
Nobody better be talking anymore about how Lost has lost its mojo. And the news that the producers can plan out three, finite more seasons makes me both sad (I never want it to end) and happy (at least it can end on its own terms). The third season's penultimate episode focuses on Charlie, which can only raise the question: Is this the end for our one-hit wonder? Jack has a plan to extinguish the "Others," but it requires Charlie to undertake a dangerous tasks.

CSI (Thu., 9PM ET, CBS) 7th season finale
Who would've thought that CSI would emulate a serial drama -- and become more interesting for it? This season's "miniature killer" storyline has added depth to the usual one-off cases that our crack team of forensic investigators take on each week. CSI should consider adding a "big mystery" every season. The killer's identity is finally revealed in the finale -- and so is Sara and Grissom's relationship when she goes missing.

Law & Order (Fri., 10PM ET, NBC) 17th season finale
L&O addicts can breathe a sigh of relief. The venerable show has been spared the death sentence. Dick Wolf's long-running drama will have an 18th season on NBC next year (its spinoff, Law & Order: Criminal Intent is moving to USA, however). Thank goodness, too, because I can't imagine the show ending for good with this finale: the trial of an ex-senator (Harry Hamlin) accused of murdering his wife becomes a spectacle thanks to a publicity-hungry judge (Jeffrey Tambor).

Desperate Housewives (Sun., 9PM ET, ABC) 3rd season finale
May is the time for big TV finales and weddings, so naturally, Desperate Housewives closes out its third season with two weddings. Gaby walks down the aisle with the newly-elected mayor, Victor, but soon learns he may have other reasons for marrying her. Susan lures Mike back to the forest for their own surprise wedding. Meanwhile, as Lynette deals with the news of her cancer, her estrange mother shows up. And best of all, Bree and Orson return to Wisteria Lane.
