(S10E15) Bounty is one of the funniest SG-1 episodes this season. The
The show focuses on each team member, so there's not much to say about the episode as a whole. The editors did a great job (perhaps with the exception of the scene where the bus takes out Daniel's assassin). The effects at the beginning were extremely polished. When I went back through the show a second time I was even more impressed.
I really enjoyed all the comedic moments of the show. Vala just can't resist messing with people a bit. Her deadpan explanation of her education was just perfect. Sam's expression as the doctor checks out the singles scene was priceless. (He deserves something, the poor guy does get stuck with the defective plasma gun after all.)
I did have a little bit of issue with the ending. There was no explanation of just how the team knew about the bounty put on them by the alliance. The same bounty hunter that just held a bunch of people hostage was set free to go take out the Lucian Alliance's leader? I'm surprised that they let him go - even if he did go on to attack the enemy. The presence of the first bounty hunter suggested that there was a contract.
The episode was really enjoyable - the combination of comedy and action made for a great episode.

First off, the group is known as The Lucian Alliance, not the Orion Syndicate.
Secondly, I thought it was a terrible episode. Sure there was a lot of fun to be had but it was silly, and totally unncessarily silly. The Lucian Alliance could have been a great wildcard group popping up now and again to be a thorn in SG-1's side much like The Genii on Atlantis but then ended up being used a joke when we were stil meant to take them seriously as a threat.
Also, I hated the end but for a different reason. What happened to keeping the Stargate Program a secret. That is definitely not the way to solve a hostage situation if you want to keep something secret.
It could've been great but I thought it was a failure and unfortunately having seen the entire season next week's is even sillier.

haha. sweeeet. The Orion Syndicate is a "mafia" type organization from star trek deep space nice and the next gen universe.
I kinda like to think it was a Freudian slip, not a mess up on your part....it was a decent episode...i'd give it a 6 as well.

The team knew about the contract because the guy who went after Mitchell told him about it. Before that, the rest of the team knew only that they were in danger, and they went to rescue him.

The Goual'd are just useless.
And the fact that someone DIED at the reunion and that everyone else saw this shit and beaming out and everything. This episode showed the reason why SG-1 was canceled and why it deserved to me.
Speaking of canceled can we "cancel" you from these reviews? Don't star becoming worse than Bob.

SG Command knew about the bounty and was trying to warn everyone. The rest of the team already beat their hunters. That's how the team knew about it. As for why they let him go...it was a ploy to get the leader of the Alliance ousted or killed and replaced by someone they knew they could beat when they needed to.
Seriously, I hate saying this time and time again, but it's really a problem lately. You people don't watch the shows you get paid to review. It's a damn shame.

malren you are very right about this. Don't know about Will but Joel Keller has to be one of the worst offenders of this. It's a real shame and makes it hard to read some of these posts.

The whole show felt like a trainwreck except a train wreck is more entertaining to see. It felt like the show was writen for 10 years olds. That must be the main Stargate adience, 10 year olds. They haven't seen where the Stargate writers rip their storylines from better sci-fi shows of years pass.

This was a terrible episode. In fact I am finding this entire last season a €serious let down. So far I think there have been what 4 or five episodes and three of them have been fillers, not connected to the overall story arc of the Ori invasion. I find this a complete waste and shame. The writers obviously have lost the zeal. The entire last ten episodes of the series should have been one big serial story where every episode ends with "to be continued..." or leads to the next. I fear that after the lackluster supposed death of the Ori, SG1 will end with a whimper rather than a bang.
