That's what Broadcasting & Cable is reporting, citing industry sources. The sources say that Rosie O'Donnell's agent is shopping around a show that's a lot like The View, a show with a panel, talking about current events, with a guest host each week.
Of course, the same sources say that Rosie might do many things, including hosting her own syndicated talk show again. Rosie hinted recently that she would be doing something with a company with initials, and that could mean CBS, including appearances on The Early Show. Though I wonder how that would affect her appearances on The View, since she said she's not going away completely and will be a guest once in a while.
So basically, no one really knows what Rosie is going to do next. Could be a View-type show, could be a syndicated talk show with her as host. She could also run for Governor of New York, open a cheese shop, or start an online poker site.

Who gives a fuck?!
Honestly, anyone here who likes her at all? She's a freak! The only reason why I would like to know when she's on is so I don't watch by mistake.

I think Rosie will be too hot to handle by some network suits. Will she end up like Imus and knocked off the air because of her opinions - or whatever you want to call it. She'll have a show somewhere and it will be interesting to see where and for whom. I kind of hope she doesn't copy The View though.

A company with initials could just as easily be ABC, or NBC for that matter.

Maybe she and Star Jones could go to E! together and self-importantly yammer on into oblivion.

CBS, ABC, NBC, CW, CNN, TWC, TLC, Hell even MSNBC if they are foreign could be initials.

I too dislike Rosie with a passion that burns like the fire from a thousand lava lamps.
But you have to give her some credit in that she's going to try to leverage her notoriety into a payday that she was asking for at The View.
It's up to the rest of the networks to grow a brain and tell her no.... Wait, what was I thinking? Ratings hungry networks?? Brain? Sorry, sorry, I kid.
Of course someone's going to overpay for Rosie's schtick, and we'll all wonder aloud whether Rosie will hire yes girls that say no to Rosie, but then give in like strawmen... er, straw-women...
Coming as this is on the eve of the eve of the Presidential Election season, Rosie's going to be in the thick of things by virtue of her long established point of view.
But in the long run, it's just a payday for Rosie. Donald Trump and the muskrat that lives on Trump's head made Rosie more than what she was before, and Rosie believed this made her worth more. Departing from The View was almost a foregone conclusion when the Donald-Rosie feud first got started.
I don't begrudge people I dislike strongly from trying to make money, so I say "Go For It, Rosie!" and I hope you fall flat on your face all the way to the bank!

I disagree with most of you. Rosie is a strong woman who speaks her mind. Isn't that what being moderator of "The View" is all about? I don't necessarily believe in some of the things she talks about, but I do believe in her right to express her opinion. And let's face it - she's made a lot of people think about a lot of different things in the past year. And what's wrong with her asking for $10 million when there are movie stars, sport figures, etc. who make hundreds of millions of dollars? Come on folks, at least give the lady credit! Smart, ballsy, not afraid to speak her mind. I wish I had her guts!

I think Rosie O'Donnell brings a passion and spark that is missing from a lot of programming because of such overly PC treading - The View was a snoozefest before she got there. I love her sparring with Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who holds her own quite well, and the two of them are friends when not tussling over political vewpoints.
Why can't people handle this? I don't like Bill O'Reilly but certainly don't think he should be yanked off the air.
As for being on a network with initials, that was probably meant as a joke since they all have initials. Personally, I'd like to see Rosie somewhere on cable, maybe HBO, so we don't have to put up with morons who clutch their chests and squawk everytime she says something they don't want to hear.
Quite whining over your tender sensibillities and change the channel if it bothers you. Or, better yet, watch and listen to all points of view instead of just FOX News.

Rosie vs. Fox points of view always mentioned, huh? How come the other day she said that all the "newspapers" were talking about a survey of Bill O'Reilly when it turned out that no newspaper mentioned the survey at that point...it was a left wing Soros sponsored blog called Media Matters...turns out every time Rosie accuses Elisabeth of using Fox talking points, Rosie gets many of her talking points from Media Matters dissemination!

I see. So its ok that Elizabeth Hasselbeck gets her info from FOX but not ok for Media Matters to be a source.
Typical right-wingnut logic.
If I were you, I'd worry more that Bill O'Reilly never seems to get a fact or a stat correct, but seems to pull figures out his ass while you wait.
Oh, I forgot. That skews in a way you approve of so its ok.

I agree with Linda (#10) and Del (#11) and Rosie's attitude is no different than any other blow hard talking head (O'Reilly, Maher, Dobbs, Glen Beck), but note all of the before mentioned are only on lowly cable - Rosie is NETWORK. Rosie should take over for Katie Couric as anchor of the CBS Evening News - now that would be some quality entertainment!

Yes , Rosie has a point of view, some may not agree with, one thing she has for sure, is subtance, and is not afraid to express what really matters, like the outrage around this sickening war, we should not be in, she is trying to wake up the unconcious who come from there fear and not their heart about all of the lives that have been affected by this war in the name of oil and the all mighty dollar, Speak on Rosie, I am listening, Mika
